That being said, Mattress Man could use some tweaks. The good: MM has good quality products. They aren't the flashy name brands, but you don't need those for comfortable sleep. You can find the latest technologies, albeit in a limited selection. The prices are also fairly low compared to big name brands. The not so good: This store is crammed. There were about 10 beds in three rows, and you had to enter and exit one from the foot unless it was on the row's end by the door. Delivery is free only for the first five miles, and then it's $2/mile after that. You'd think with their no-haggle pricing they would at least give you free delivery to a much larger area. I have some constructive criticism for Amy (co-owner). Please don't take this personally, but you need to develop more sales skills. Get to know your customer and their needs. Tailor their needs to your products. Furthermore, reading a mattress' description label verbatim doesn't sell me on it. Rather, if it has a certain feature (i.e. graphite infused foam), tell me why it's better than not having it. Don't say your beds are "good" either. I already know you believe that, but I want to be sold on why they're good. I highly recommend you buy a copy of Grant Cardone's book "The Closer's Survival Guide", because it will make you much more proficient at closing. This is especially vital given your store's out of the way location where traffic isn't optimal.

However, I have had to perform repairs on my washer, dryer and refrigerator a few times and have purchased numerous parts from them. Here's what's great about Troby's: They not only sell parts at competitive prices, they freely offer advice, suggestions and helpful hints for successfully completing repair jobs myself. Unlike the big-box stores, Troby's not only services what they sell, they also sell repair and maintenance parts for DIY'ers like me. Try finding a new defrost thermostat for your refrigerator at Lowes or Home Depot. They freely admit that they don't provide repair and maintenance parts for the appliances they sell. Troby's is a home town, family owned business right here in Harrisonville. Although I've not yet had to replace a washer, dryer, refrigerator or freezer, when the time for that comes, Troby's will be the first place I go. Even if their prices are slightly higher (and I don't know that they are, I haven't compared), the added value of friendly, helpful neighbors who will stand behind their products is worth any extra up-front extra cost (if there is any).

Their service people are knowledgeable and friendly, however management is forgetful and fails to keep their scheduling appointments.,,,,resulting in rescheduling after rescheduling after rescheduling and time and money lost on your part waiting for a serviceman that's not coming. Due to their lack of scheduling skills, they do give you the option of you leaving your home unlocked so that they can enter your residence and service your appliances with you gone, however personally I feel uncomfortable with that option. Unfortunately I can not recommend their service due to their unreliability and lack of professionalism.... suggesting that if you need appliance repair, take a little time and effort to locate a professional service. You can (as I have) found that there are reputable appliance repair persons in the Ottawa area that are more than eager to service the Paola/Ottawa area.
