As for the employees, I found them helpful, personable and were able to check me in and out relatively quickly. As for the clothes selection they had a decent supply of mid-level name brand along with some harder to find selections. Since I'm writing this at the end of May, obviously their focus isn't on fall or winter which was perfect. I actually applaud their effort to keep most of the clothes in logical order, in that there weren't too many clothes that were shoved in a spot by lazy shoppers. They have many sizes and selections in men's and women's as I noticed while I was shopping with my two teenage girls. That said from a teenage perspective my girls weren't too impressed with the styles provided in clothes and my youngest wanted makeup but didn't find anything to her liking. I'm just conveying her thoughts for the younger crowd. Marshalls is clean and has decent prices and they maintain a very safe and comfortable shopping experience. I suggest coming in for all clothing needs and walking around for a bit to see if anything else grabs your fancy. I didn't check the changing rooms so you're on your own there. She said she had to show the customer the items in the locked case. This again was AFTER the customer had already been holding up the line while she was talking to someone on the phone about the mat and the different ones they had. My Daughter Ashley, had made an appointment to try dresses at the Independence, MO location…read more (monday 11/12/18) We were early so we hung by the front looking at some and ooooing and aahhhhhing. Miss Mary came out and asked Ashley what she was looking for and color and then budget. Mary grabbed a few things showing Ashley each time she would grab one. Ashley is really short and Ashley said she just wanted to try a mermaid for the hell of it. Mary did let her know because of her height, there would be an awful lot of alterations that would take her over her budget. But she grabbed one for her. Ashley tried some on. When we came to the show stopper, Mary put a couple of accessories on Ashley. I made a suggestion for a different belt and that did it! The last dress she tried on was a rock star dress. and about 200.00 over budget. I could tell Ashley liked it but Mary said ok, look at her face. Then she put her in the one that made us cry (less expensive) and it started all over again. Mary said, you can tell which one she loves. Mary was AWESOME!! 1 Star Extremely disappointing experience at this David's…read moreBridal location. The bride was contacted and told that three bridesmaid dresses were ready for pickup. During that call, she explicitly confirmed that it was not her wedding gown. A few days later, she called back to provide pickup details and again confirmed it was only bridesmaid dresses. When she arrived at the store alone, expecting a simple pickup, she was suddenly told the items were actually her bridal gown and that she needed to take it and try it on immediately. She wasn't prepared for this--no proper undergarments, no family or friends present--because she had been repeatedly told it was not her gown. What should have been a once-in-a-lifetime special moment was completely mishandled. Even worse was the staff's response: an uncaring "oh well" attitude and a statement that she had to take the gown because they would not hold it. No empathy, no apology, and no acknowledgment of the mistake or the emotional importance of the situation. Bridal gown pickup is not just another errand--it's a milestone moment. This experience was ruined due to poor communication and lack of compassion. I would not recommend this location to any bride expecting care, professionalism, or understanding.

The clerk gave me a friendly greeting, asked if I needed any assistance and I let her know I'd just be browsing around. They did have a pretty good selection, I started in the sale section because I'm cheap (haha). I found several nice tops, that were new with tags, but each of them had a flaw of some sort. I don't hold this against Clothes Mentor, especially considering the fact that this is a consignment store AND that I was mostly looking at clearance items. I guess the part that bothered me a little is that some of the tags would say AS IS on them and some didn't. Maybe not every issue had come to their attention yet. So, just be careful. I found a shirt that was a great price, so decided to get it. When I went to check out the lady working was so bubbly and friendly. I actually enjoyed shopping there and left happy. So, even though Lee's Summit isn't a place I get to often, I wouldn't mind going back sometime in the future.

When the cashier (pinkish/black hair) noticed she looked away and shrugged her shoulders. This was an awful customer service experience. Some members of your staff desperately need some re-training. Customers should always come before personal conversations and cell phone usage.
