Happy Hour Wine & Liquor is a busy place especially on a Friday summer afternoon…read more I stopped in to check out their craft beer selection, after several of the local breweries recommended the shop and an Aunt's recommendation she picks up wine at Happy Hour on a regular basis. They have an ice cold beer cave in the back of the shop, a gentleman restocking in the area was very friendly, showed me local craft beer as well as beer from other areas of Tennessee and nearby North Carolina. He also showed me an aisle in the store where the beer was not refrigerated for easy transport and also the beer he was restocking. Once I came up to the counter, there was a whiskey tasting going on and a group of people stocking up for the weekend. Happy Hour Wine and Liquor is worth a trip when you're in Cookeville, TN.

They said it was cooked perfect and the okra were crispy. The sweet tea was definitely sweet and tea might have needed to boil for a bit longer. We ended up having to wait for the ice to melt down to be able to drink it with all the sugar. I'd like to go back to check out more menu options. Also, the service was great. KaShonda was apologetic and was quick to make the situation right. When a new pizza came out it was fantastic. I would return when back in the area.

We both ordered a replacement of the house salad with a Caesar salad and it was a $6 up charge.... Which would be ok if it was decidedly different in size or components - but if you look at the picture you see how incredibly tiny this salad was. For the record, we asked for lightly dressed and it was perfect. But worth a $6 up charge? I think not. I ordered the petite portion of the chicken piccata ($17) vs a full portion ($21) and I was definitely ripped off... again look at the pics. Additionally, while the chicken and pasta were perfectly cooked, the seasoning was definitely NOT Italian and NOT piccata but had a weird flavor profile closer to SW USA - not what I expected. My husband ordered the ribeye Medium rare and it came out rare and COLD. He sent it back and it came back lukewarm and grisly. It appeared it was microwaved instead of hitting the skillet. We wanted to dine together so he struggled through it. We've eaten here twice before and were appalled by what we were served this time. We asked to speak with the chef and were told the service manager would come - which she did. But we requested the chef. Jaime came out to speak with us and listened to our input. We SO appreciate him listening. He let us know the ribeye had not been microwaved but hit the grill again. He admitted their piccata is not traditionally seasoned (no lemon flavor). Chelsea the service manager came out again and comped our meal (which was not necessary because we understand there are profit margins) the owners must manage). As one of the local fine dining establishments, if the owners want to keep that space, they need to make sure they offer value and quality to their customers. Our waitress was very kind and friendly but just appeared to be responsible for too large of an area. We ordered three midtown style smash burgers with arugula, tomato, red onion, herb mayo and smoke provolone. I ordered mine medium rare and the other two well done. The food preparation time was extremely slow. It took the kitchen over an hour to prepare 3 smash burgers. We saw customers come sit at the bar after us and receive their food before us even though we ordered 20 minutes before they arrived. The server did apologize for the delay and offered a free dessert. However, we did not get the opportunity to choose. When the burgers did come out, they were all cooked well done and mine was not medium rare as requested. I didn't bring this to the servers attention as I did not have another hour to waste for it to be corrected. Otherwise the burgers tasted good. The burgers came with a side of fries. She brought out the skillet cookie for dessert that came with brown butter chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and caramel sauce. Although this was a kind gesture, the cookie was still raw in the center and was not cooked all the way. Also be bill was incorrect. One of the burgers came with a size of broccoli which was a .99 upcharge. Somehow the waitress added .99 cent upcharges to the other two burgers for arugula when the price of the burger on the menu included that ingredient. Again, did not bring this to the servers attention because at this point was just so frustrated about the wait time we were just ready to leave. The restaurant looks like a very fun and exciting place. There was karaoke scheduled for that evening starting at 10 p.m. They also had large screen broadcasting various sporting events for people to view. Overall this experience was a bit frustrating because of the long time it took for us to receive our food and incorrect bill. Very disappointing first experience.
