Since the purchase, we have replaced the battery 4 times. Every other month the battery dies. In May 2024, the one year warranty expired and they sold him the same battery. The battery lasted less than 1 month and it died once again. My son is now in college and needs a car since he is living off campus. I went in to exchange the battery for a better once since I cannot be there to help him if the battery dies. As a side note, I had the car towed to my mechanic and he showed me it was a bad battery. Upon showing that to the staff at AAP, they proceeded to tell me it was my fault for buying a cheap battery. My response was that my son would not have bought a battery they didn't recommend that particular battery. No accountability from the manager and it was by far one of my worst experiences as a customer. I had the truck towed in to my mechanic to confirm it was the battery and NOT my alternator. Update: I called the corporate office and the customer service agent mentioned someone would reach out to me in 24 hours. I received a call the following day from the store manager and he resolved the issue by giving me credit towards the new battery. Well done!

I recommended this shop to my daughter because of the great reviews, and unfortunately, this…read moreexperience was very frustrating. She brought her 2011 Volvo XC60 T6 in for an alternator/charging-system failure. The repair cost was around $900-$1,000, which seemed reasonable. However, when she picked up the car, the Check Engine light was on. She immediately returned to the shop, and they cleared the code, explaining that apparently a cable had been disconnected during the repair. After driving the car again, the ABS/BAS warning light came on. My daughter called me upset and frustrated. The shop asked whether she had driven through a puddle or over something hot, which she said she had not. They then diagnosed a bad ABS sensor and told her it would cost another $300 to repair. I have owned and worked around Volvos for more than 30 years and have owned more than five of them. In my experience, an ABS sensor does not simply fail coincidentally after this type of repair very often. I obviously wasn't there when the work was performed, so I can't say with absolute certainty what happened, but I am concerned that something involving the ABS sensor, wiring, or connector may have been disturbed during the alternator repair. What bothers me most is that my daughter is a young, inexperienced driver and was understandably inclined to trust what the shop told her. She is also a single-income household, so another $300 is not insignificant. I understand that this is a small family-owned shop and that unexpected problems can happen when working on an older vehicle. However, I would have appreciated a more thorough explanation of how an ABS sensor suddenly failed immediately after the repair, and whether the wiring or connector had been inspected for damage or disturbance during the alternator work. I recommended this shop based on its excellent reputation, so this experience was particularly disappointing. I hope the shop will consider taking another look at the situation and addressing my concerns.

I would run from this place if I were you. I had asked Felipe if he takes insurance jobs and he…read moresaid yes. So I had my car towed over to his shop which cost me $150 He then said the insurance would not cover a "diagnostic" and that I had to pay for it. Well, my car was made in 1966 and there's no computer so how can you even do a diagnostic? I told him what was wrong with the car from the accident. He went ahead and did work without me knowing and then was insisting that I signed an estimate after he did the work. Which is illegal by the way. I did not ask for him to replace something, but he did on his own. He was very insistent and would get angry because I would not sign. So I went down to the shop to get my truck which cost me another $150 to tow Home. He was getting irritated that I wouldn't sign what he wanted me to sign because I didn't agree with it. He was goofing to charge me a lot of money for work that I didn't ask to be done. So ultimately to get my car back, I had to pay for this "diagnostic" . He then got very angry and claims that I was trying to take advantage of the insurance that none of it was caused in the accident and it was just because of old Parts. Which simply isn't true. I spent hundreds of dollars and nothing was fixed. And the fuel pump that he replaced or "fixed" was leaking. Prior to that , on the phone he was saying that it would cost a minimum of $2500 to fix my transmission and if he had to rebuild my transmission it could cost $4000 or more and he needed a $1500 deposit. I told him I could buy a new transmission for less than that. He claims that the part that was needed was very hard to find, but I found it in a 30 second Google search for roughly $200. He was trying to take advantage of me and tried to charge me way more than what was needed. He must've thought I was stupid, but luckily I know a little bit about cars. This should've been a simple cheap fix but he will definitely try and take you for a ride if you're not careful.
