    If only I could give "0" stars... RUDE!!! RUDE!!! Took my…read morecar to get a diagnostic check. Called to pick it up. No discussion of what was done, what was checked, or what could be wrong with my car. I called and asked what was done, he asked what the name was under, put me on hold, then came back and said, "ma'am that vehicle was picked up".. I said I know, we just got home with it and I would like to know what was done and what's wrong with it. He said they didn't find anything.. if nothing is wrong, then why does my car have 1) a rough start 2) vibrates in idle and reverse 3) it shakes and acts like it wants to die 4) it died on my husband in PARK in the DRIVEWAY this morning. He said nothing was said to them about any of that. So I asked what they do in a diagnostics check. He said it depends on. I asked on what? "Ma'am it depends on the vehicle". I asked if was hooked up to machine or scanner or what's done... music started playing. He put me on HOLD. Without telling me. I waited SEVERAL minutes without anyone picking the phone back up, so I hung up and called back. I said that was "NOT COOL!" You put me on hold without saying a word and you didn't even come back. "Ma'am, I have 5 people here waiting. I'll call you back when I have time".. I said no.. that's rude! He was talking to me first and I want to know what's wrong with my car because nothing was said when my husband showed up. He was handed the keys and told to have a good day! He said plenty was said. So I asked l... again... what diagnostic was ran, was anything found because I need my car fixed. He said nothing was found that he told my husband he can try to change out the motor mounts (we ordered them the other day with transmission mounts also and they came in today), so something must've been said for him to tell my husband to try what he already had intentions of doing. I asked how a diagnostic can be ran and nothing show, when my car obviously SHOWS signs. They should've noticed when they drove my car to move it. "Ma'am, I'm hanging up. Don't call here again and don't bring your vehicle here anymore, we won't work on it".. I asked his name.. "My name is Shawn and I'm the owner and I'm telling you not to come back here again." I asked "WHY?!" I just wanted to know what was done. We took it for a diagnostics. "And we didn't charge you for that ma'am. Don't call back. Don't bring your vehicle back." .. And here I am. Writing a review to let EVERYONE know how rude and unprofessional "Shawn" and Gary's Automotive is! If there was a choice of "0" stars, I would've picked that, but I had to pick the "1" star. We have taken our vehicles there before with no problem, but not anymore. Not after today. VERY RUDE!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! ("Shawn Grisham" is the owner of "Gary's"). Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time or money on a place that's unprofessional!! *Adding that my husband said that Shawn cut him off while he was trying to tell him what was wrong with my car, to talk to another customer about a $4,500 transmission job... you don't do that! You don't just cut people off and turn to the next.

    We were in the middle of a twelve hour roadtrip when our check engine light came on, then began…read moreflashing. AutoZone could not find any specific issue, but recommended we see a mechanic. Every other place we called was unable to see us today. Gary's Automotive discovered we were basically out of oil (Jiffy Lube did not recommend an oil change for another 2k miles). They topped us off and sent us off with well wishes. Fast, friendly service! They were lifesavers! Thank you!

    I have to say, this is the first time that I actually seek out an out of state service center to…read moregive them a rave review. You see.. driving back from Saginaw, TX to Los Angeles, we were involved in a highway incident that left our poor Chevy Volt with a pretty much destroyed front right wheel. As it turns out, it is virtually impossible to get the actual wheel in less than a week.. and it was hard enough to get even an INCORRECT temp wheel, but Lamanza and Brandon went out of their way to make it happen.. while we were stranded in Abiliene for 3 days.. that was MUCH better than the alternative SEVEN days required to get the right part. I verified from nearby Chevy dealers that this was actually a fact.. so, again, we are very grateful for everything Brandon and Lamanza did for us.. and might I say, the price was VERY reasonable, showing that they cared we were in a difficult situation and did their best to not make it worse. My wife and I want to clearly state, this Pep Boys is a bonafide GREAT place to take your car for service. We trust them and are grateful. I'm hoping this review will help bring this to the forefront. GREAT JOB guys. Kudos from a couple who are safe and sound in LA thanks to your efforts.

    If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I arrived 5 minutes before my 9am appointment. there…read morewas only one person at the front desk so it look longer than usual to get help. While i'm waiting and next in line the man proceeds to say "do you need something" as if i'm not already and been waiting in line for 20 minutes which, was understandable because there was only one person. I then get to the counter and ask with my two services can i also add on a oil change and then later change my mind about it after hearing the price when I usually get it done for cheaper amount. Then when he gives me the final price for my services it is way more than what i was quoted for on the phone and I asked how much each things costed and there was a bunch of extra things added on and so being irritated with this customer service and plus the pricing, I walked out. I later then called to speak with a manager, I was told to wait and I waited for 10 minutes and then had to call back because no one was answering. I finally am able to speak with the manager after waiting 15 minutes on hold and then he proceeds to say that a $70 oil change is cheaper than most oil changes because I have a older car and I told him well I'm getting it done at another place right now because it's cheaper and he replied with "well do you get it done for free". Then about the price change he constantly was blaming it on a employee that they had let go this week, and said it could possibly be him who gave me the quote instead of taking responsibility. I then explained regardless of if you let an employee go and he was the one who gave me the quote, they were still representing PEP BOYS as a company and proceeded to give me that quote after 30 minutes of explaining what needed to be done. He then says "that's a whole other conversation we aren't going to get into" saying how that's not the case and how i'm talking about things that don't correlate with the situation. Basically just blaming the whole thing on not only ME but also the so said let go employee due to miscommunication. at some point i hung up the call because it kept going in circles he then calls back twice and said "well we don't even have a tech to fix what you have going on" which is an electrical issue regarding my back taillight. The conversation was wrapped up quickly because it seemed like they just wanted me to come back in to get a run for my money even though he already said they can't fix what i needed to get done and I told him I was going to take it somewhere else and the call ended. I have never ever received this type of customer service and lack of respect, communication, and patience from a "professional" company like this so I am very surprised and I do not recommend ever going there for anything. Firestone on south clack took care of everything professionally and at a cheaper cost. I recommend firestone!!
