He was initially referred to us by a cousin of my husbands family. How please are we that we gave him a call. Sirilo went above and beyond exceeding all expectations. This review is for Kathleen Clifford. We had the displeasure of being a prospective buyer on a house in Mountain View that she was selling. We were not the winning bidder. This greedy agent then issued counter-offers to buyers who were 19% over asking -- buyers who had the pride and good sense to walk away not only from her counter-offer but from the house altogether. We had an opportunity to get back in the game and gave them a chance to issue a counter-offer. She totally jerked us and our agent around. She first claimed she didn't see the deadline in our email (nonsense). Then she said that she couldn't reach the sellers until 1pm the next day to present our offer. We found out later that this was a complete lie; she had closed the sale without ever bothering to let our agent know. An agent is entitled to get the best deal for their clients, and we weren't the best deal. But an agent is not entitled to lie and manipulate others without being called out for it on Yelp. read more

Andy Wong helped my family purchase a new home and sell another in 2011. He was a consummate professional in every way, from his initial advice regarding what would be possible in our desired neighborhood to his follow up on details with contractors after both deals were closed. He demonstrated deep knowledge of the neighborhood, excellence in the nuts and bolts of his profession, intelligence and business-smarts as an adviser, and compassion and intuition about out needs. I have bought and sold houses two previous times with other agents, and while the others were good, Andy was so far superior that I could not imagine working with or recommending another agent. I know there is a very long list of other people who feel exactly the same way. Andy also is selfless leader in our community, giving his time to raise money for the elementary school, organizing annual neighborhood events, and coaching youth sports teams. I've read the one negative review of Andy on this site and it sounds very much out of character based on my experience with him and his reputation in our neighborhood. Anyone thinking of using Andy should check his references, as I am sure the evidence will be overwhelmingly positive. read more

Completely unresponsive. Intero via Mike Strouf represents many property rentals in South Bay, but never respond (after 9 calls by both me and my partner). I feel badly for the owners represented by Intero. The owners are not being served well. We are at a point now, if we see the property represented by Intero, we just skip the rental. read more

I applied to rent a house listed by Intero and was approved. Pros: - Quick turnaround on application/approval. Cons: - I didn't get the feeling that Intero worked very hard for their clients. The agent did the bare minimum to follow up but didn't really try to close the deal. The house wound up sitting on the market (vacant) for several more weeks after I lost interest and rented a competing property for far less money. - The open house had a deceptively low price advertised on Zillow (allegedly a mistake), and the listing agent wasn't there in person. Instead, another agent was present to open the door but could not answer questions or negotiate. - It would have been nice if the application process made better use of technology, e.g. a secure web form. Hint: emailing scanned documents with your SSN/DL#/etc. is not OK. Hint 2: this is Silicon Valley and I guarantee they've been told this before. Separately, another Intero agent never misses an opportunity to remind you that he's a "Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate," printing it on every business card, MLS listing, and free pen. As if he's Warren Buffett's close personal friend because Berkshire owns Intero. Not sure if that's a pro or a con, but it is odd. read more

This review is for Michael Tarens. We went to an open house hosted by him and were treated very rudely by him with a hint of discrimination. Although the house looked nice, we walked out immediately as that was too much rudeness and humiliation for us to take. Definitely not a person we would like to deal with at all. Whether you are a potential buyer or seller, avoid him at all cost to prevent the unwanted mistreatment. By far, he is THE worst agent/person we have ever encountered. read more

I cannot speak about Andy Wong's realtor capabilities just his property management company. I hired Andy and his team to manage my Sunnyvale duplex which I recently purchased and was told should not take very long to rent. In the little over two months that I worked with Andy's team, my empty unit never got rented (other one was already occupied when I hired Andy). Andy's employee suggested I even lower the rent and it still didn't get rented. Andy's Property Management company had very high expectations of their renters and even mentioned the occupied unit would not have met their criteria even though they never missed a rent and paid on time. I told them that they can lower their criteria but was told no. Towards the end of the 2nd month of our relationship, I asked what the potential applicants were saying and was told that the landscaping was bad as well as a few other things. I was surprised to hear that the landscaping was an issue since I had given them contact info of the owner that I shared the common area of land that needed the landscaping when I first hired them. I had to ask them to contact the other owner to see if she would be willing to share the cost which she was. But why did I have to be the one asking them rather them telling me what they recommend to increase the possibility of getting a renter? They are supposed to have the knowledge and experience. They only advertise on Craigslist and I had to constantly ask them to update the posting so that it wouldn't appear always at the bottom of the results. I was able to find another site that people use to look for rentals which I sent to them and never heard back from them. I even offered to manage the Craigslist posting several times and again never heard back from them. I called Andy several times and left voice messages regarding my issues with his team but he never called back. I finally emailed him which he did respond to and was told he hired someone else so the service will improve. It did not. As Carol S indicated, I never felt my interest was their interest. These are just a few of the problems I had. I finally left Andy's company and hired a new property management company who within two weeks found a tenant for the empty unit and I didn't have to lower the rent! I woulld never recommend Andy Wong's Property Management company to handle someone else's property. read more

Had a house listed for under 1m that they are expecting 2m offer on. Underpricing for exposure happens in Palo Alto, but this was such an absurd extreme that wasted a lot of peoples time whose range is outside what Intero would realistically accept, and they know it. But that cost was worth the noise they could generate. Not illegal, but just wrong. And a good way to bring many curses on the property. read more

In January 2009 I found myself in a situation where I needed a very knowledgeable Realtor to help selling the house I was living in. The market was kind of slow, which commonly happens early in the year, even when the property is located in an excellent school district. Friends of mine recommended Andy, and they were 100% right! Andy helped from upgrades that would pay of to staging the house for a limited cost, And and his team did a fabulous job. Selling a house can be very stressful, but I had all the help I needed. Andy was always very sensitive that we were comfortable with what was going on, updating us with what we needed to know but not unnecessary items that would just stress me out. In the end we sold the house at asking price to a wonderful family. I would use Andy again and recommend him. read more
