I had a very bad experience years ago... I took my Tahoe to them to get my water pump replaced . A very easy fix on this. I showed them where the leak was (weep hole) they proceeded to tell me my intake manifold gaskets needed replacing and the water pump was fine. $1000.00 and a week later I got it back. I drove it to Salado, and when I got out of the car the exact same leak was there. I'm a mechanic , but I elected to have it fixed because I was traveling and didn't have my tools. They didn't even check their work. When I took it back to them, they said they would fix it no charge. When I picked it up they charged me for the pump... Now all these years later I get a text message telling me i can get 10% off on my next service. I thought I had put this behind me years ago, only bringing up the story to illustrate how even mechanics can get taken for a ride given the right circumstances. Now I'm compelled to leave a review . When I replied to the text : Why in the world would I ever come back to a shop that fucked me over so bad that it's the worst experience I've ever had in my life? Took my 2005 F250 there because I felt the rear end was possibly going bad. My regular mechanic thought that as well but he does not rebuild rear ends. I went to this place they kept my truck for a week and charged me $127.00 for nothing. That did absolutely nothing. I don't even believe they did a test drive to diagnose the problem. My check engine was on when I got there and had been on for 2 years for the catalytic converter but the truck run fine and that was not why I was there. I believe they saw the light was on and did a scan which told them the catalytic converter should be replaced which I already knew. Bottomline, they told me something I already knew and never addressed the problem I was there for. They charged me the previous $127.00 I mentioned for 2 minutes work. On top of that I had to rent a vehicle on top that which cost me an additional $300.00 plus. I'm 65 and I been to many, many mechanics in my life and this ix by far the worst i've ever seen. The old guy at the front counter has the worst attitude I've ever seen. He's just plain rude and has a extremely nasty disposition. Steer clear of this place and find a real professional garage to service your vehicle, this place is not that. read more

I took my 2008 Jaguar in for a bad alternator on Thursday before Labor Day. I wasn't expecting them to get to the car before Tuesday. My car was finished on Friday and I picked it up before closing. The price was a little higher than I like, but you have to pay a little more for a classic import. Rick is a nice guy and explains everything very well. Attitude, Attitude, Attitude!...Boy do I miss Kirk(retired)...Rick(new guy)...not the same!... Brake job done with my aftermarket high dollar parts. But two days later bracket caliper pivots down and locks up vehicle ...cracks bracket after lockup..loud crack!...thankfully did not tear up much. no top bolt anywhere?...if it's torqued to 140ft.lbs spec and or thread locker applied...how can this be..."NOT OUR FAULT"... no problem...things happen. Lets just fix it!...as the replacement calipers would cost another 350 bucks, we put on my OEM bracket no charge but Rick(new front desk guy) was gonna charge me...now I have mis matched parts on rear brakes...not my high dollar powder coated brakes)..AND they did not install other parts I supplied...I was told it is not profitable for them to use my parts....excuse me?...they have been very good about getting to my car and working on them fast but I have spent going on 20 GRAND with them in the last year or so...and now told its "not profitable?"...was planning for a new jasper motor in the next couple months...another 10 GRAND...not gonna happen now!....as I have been told "it's not profitable!!!....it's been fun while it lasted ...Hope Kirk is enjoying his retirement!!! Overpriced and they do more damage than good. I paid $450 for a $38 part installed. They broke the water reservoir, which they charged me to replace, and then rigged the wiring. It has been shorting out the entire time. read more

Great staff! Every time my car has an issue, they look at it quick and diagnose the problem correctly! Then when it's time to get your car fixed, they do it quick so you can have your car back on the road. They don't add extra stuff just to make a buck! They are honest and will tell you the problems. My husband took his 94 mustang to fix the fuel is spitting out of the exhaust. Car is worse and had to be towed back home. We were told timing was fixed, nope. Was spitting fuel into oil crank case- still doing that and we asked for oil pan to be sealed, they said let's change oil first which never got done. Oh but he rushed us to pay $1000. Before we took it over ther we could start the car because we drove it up on trailer. Now it will not even start. We advised fuel injector was a big issue but truly this man did nothing. My Dad was a lifelong mechanic and I have turned a wrench a little too. Some folks will complain no matter what you do. These are the same folks that know nothing about mechanical issues. IM has been in business for as long as I have lived in Temple. You don't stay in business if you cannot deliver, and since they are always busy, that should tell you something. read more

Car emergencies aren't so terrible when you have the good fortune of breaking down in Belton and so close to International Motors. My husband and I were heading back home to Hot Springs, Arkansas after a weekend away in Austin when our Volvo's service light started frantically flashing leading us to find out that it needed a new alternator. We assumed we would have to stay overnight in Belton as it was 2 PM and there was no way they would be able to find the part and replace it before they closed at 5 PM. John (owner), Kirk (manager) and their staff went above and beyond. They took care of us right away by getting our warranty sorted out, attaining the new alternator from a Volvo dealership and communicating with us step by step. The whole team stayed after closing time to finish the car. I can't say enough positive things about this business. They were incredibly professional, honest, courteous and knowledgeable and we are so grateful. It takes more than just experience and skill to do what they do- they have passion and dedication. I would disagree with the previous post. I have been to other auto mechanics in Killeen, and have been dissatisfied with the service I received at those places. I was then referred by a coworker to Int'l Motors, and haven't been disappointed since. To the best of my knowledge, the team appears to be very honest and courteous to its customer base. They accepted to address my issues with little or no notice, and did not overcharge me like some other so-called European car specialists. I feel confident referring family and friends to their business. Again, this is the impression I have of Int'l Motors and may not reflect their actual work, but my experience with the team there so far has been excellent. read more

These guys have done well for me over the years I've had them as my primary auto shop for my vehicles. One of my cars had the transmission go out on it...they had found the best one and helped make sure the replacement was working properly especially during the course of the warranty period. The owners are up front and will tell you exactly what's wrong with your vehicle. It's also my impression that they don't "up-sell" by telling you there's "additional work that needs to be done" when it actually does not. They will tell you what you actually need to get you on the road efficiently and safely. read more

The first day i took my car into International Motors last month to have my breaks and an emissions check engine light worked on. I left my car there when it opened and most of the day it sat in the parking lot. They finally got the car in and fixed the breaks but didnt even check the emissions. I picked up right before they closed. So 1/2 the stuff got done. 2 weeks ago i called to set up an appointment to get the emissions done. The first week they said they were busy. The second week they told me that i could bring it in on veterans day and i could drop it off first thing and they would get it done. So my only day off in 2 months that i could get it in and i do......1230pm its still in the parking lot. I called and kurt said sorry were are busy and everyone has a day off so i need to keep waiting. 330pm i called and talked to john the owner and they still havent gotten to it. 445 i call and kurt said they just got it in. They close at 6pm. I told them nevermind they had it all day and that i was coming to get it. So i got a ride up there and its still in the bay. Kurt tells me that there is an emissions leak and i cut him off. How would you even know no one has looked at it. He then tells me they have been working on it all day....i called his b.s. and said i talked to you and you just barely pulled it back. He then proceeds to tell me then go somewhere else. Apparently because i called him out now he is mad. So i grabbed my key from the mechanic that pulled my ar up and slammed the door in frustration. So kurt decided to follow me telling me he doesnt need attitude. I told him to shut the f up and left. Do not go here they will waste your time. read more
