This store in Monroe is also the same. They don't have store coupons or loyalty cards/keychains. Any discounts are automatic. By Department The bakery is pretty impressive with cakes, cookies, cupcakes and pies. There are some really delectable items here. Fresh seafood or meat are plentiful and of good quality . I do think they are a bit higher priced than Harris Teeter and haven't really noticed any higher quality. They have about 7-8 souls near the deli. They can have minestrone, chili, chicken noodle , beef pasta. Just a nice variety . And if you'd like to sample - employees will give you a taste cup for a sample. Deli- I've been a Harris Teeter fan since living here so is stick with them. But a eyeball of their meats and cheeses .. they look good and I may delve into this one day. Every visit to Publix I get some staples .. at least staples for me . The stuffed green peppers , the Italian hoagie (both near deli). If you haven't tried a Publix out .. go out and give them a look. You may find some interesting items for your palette.

As for the employees, they're extremely friend and nice. As for groceries they have a rather large and diverse selection other than produce. The mushroom selection is sparse. Want to pick up some woodear, loose shiitake, Oyster, Enoki, etc? Not here my dear, although they do have shitake packaged. I've hunted for exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, Buddha's hand, Star fruit etc but they don't carry it. Otherwise they carry the standard fair which is more in bulk than variety. I will say I'm impressed with the seafood selection. Scanning the isle and see mahi, grouper, catfish (yuck), salmon, etc. I bought the mahi and it was very good, not old or stale at all. The best thing, is this is just a small portion of what they have. As for beef, lamb, chicken etc no need to spend to much time as they have the best selection I've seen in a store. Chances are they have what you need. My overall assessment of Harris Teeter is it works well for it's target group, middle class NC families looking for good prices on food that is pretty standard with having some "elegances" spread out enough to allow those who are adventurous to try something new. The shelves are well stocked, the environment clean and safe, and house made items such as breads, tortillas, soups, etc are very well crafted.

You don't have to fight crowds and get angry while shopping. Saturdays & Sundays are normally busier and we try to avoid it until the crowd calms down. I gave the Walmart a 4 only because I have had times where they are out of what I needed or is was messy and unorganized but for the most part it is always well put together and they always have exactly what we need. We have cashiers that we know and always get in their lines because we know they will be kind and considerate. Over all I am glad that we live this close to a good Walmart! It really comes in handy when you need something quick and I recommend this one especially :)

Lidl has a terrific bakery and two French loaves went into the cart. A few fresh onions (ALDI sells them in big bags) and some frozen fish. Lidl also sells the brand of milk my wife likes. I love this store…read more The biggest reason is because of David in produce. Where other Harris Teeters failed to work with me, David was the best. I take care of a community of deer that are adored by the community and have an incredible online following including Facebook. Some of these followers are dpressed or elderly and say the deer videos I post are the highlight of there day. So David kindly puts aside the unsaleable fruit which I purchase at a very discounted price. He does this for me three days a week which has kept the deer VERY happy and coming back for more heartwarming videos. I could have not done this without him. The impact of his efforts are impacting lives around the globe. The rest of the staff is marvelous as well. Heads and shoulders over the Mintworth Harris Teeter (except a few employees). If only it didn't take 17 left-hand turns to get there. But that's not ALDI'S fault, and I assure you the drive is worth the trouble. The secret sauce at this grocery store is clearly in its management.
