I realized I had bad attitude one day, and I needed to change it, and the best way to change it?…read moreHave a fabulous lunch. Ella Maybe the best lunch you can have in North Florida. Yes, I'm talking about eating at the food truck called On the Fly. Calling it a food truck is in this number, I'm not sure what you would call. It is fabulous. Now let's start off with the negatives, parking is not as easy as it is for most lunch places, but it's really not that bad if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of slots on the street before you get to the restaurant, and if you called ahead and are just picking up then you can park in the reserve lot, where On the Fly is located. Now these spaces are reserved for lawyers going to the courthouse, which is nearby. So you can't park there here all day, but if you're just stopping in for lunch or if you've called ahead or just picking up takeout, then you should be fine. If you're in someone's spot, the first place to look is the restaurant, so just know you may have to move fairly quickly. For me, I like to call in advance, place my order, and then Park in one of the spaces. Then I pick up my food and go and I'm only there for five minutes. Now that that's all out of the way, let's talk about some of the best food that you will have in Jaxonville. On the Fly sauce - I think this is made by a team of leprechauns they keep in the back of the food truck. Because it comes out so fresh, so delicious, and if they sold it by the gallon, I would be numero Uno in buying it. Blue chips - a great starter chips and blue cheese, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Firecracker Sesame seared Tuna - another solid performer, it has some kick to it, although the tuna is always perfectly cooked. Sweet and spicy quesadilla - oh my God, this dishes as close to heaven as I think I will ever get to. The chicken is so tender and put into a tortilla with caramelized onions, banana peppers, and covered in On the Fly sauce. I don't know how but this works so well you cannot imagine. Service 5/5stars Food 10/5 stars Parking 3/5.

Needless to say, skepticism ruled the day. Then our CM Matt posted some very intriguing pics (oh the Power of Yelp) - I was tempted! Finding myself in 5 Points, after hours, and a little hungryish, I came across the HD Party Cart. The smiles & smells that surrounded the cart drew me closer - the description of El Guapo sold me! Topped with chili, vegan cheese and Fritos - each bite was delicious and satisfying. I missed the snap of a traditional dog, but the flavors more than made up for it! They're usually in front of Root Down on weekend nights - just look for the crowds :)

That's right, these hot dogs are 100% vegan. Which means vegan cheese, vegan chili, etc. In my unprofessional opinion, nothing can triumph over pig. I'm a pork-butt eating fool. However, I don't believe Hot Dog Party is comparing themselves to a classic frankfurter. They're rocking their own unique style, and I applaud them for it! El Guapo - Chili, vegan cheddar, relish, fritos - aka delicious! I normally top it off with some type of mustard and it just works. I downed two of these bad boys last weekend and it cured my unadulterated hanger. Where to find this hot dog cart? Stalk their Instagram page. I couldn't even find them on Facebook. They normally camp out in Five Points on the weekends. These dogs are perfect for those late nights. Hot Diggity!

Food trucks to adults are literally what ice cream trucks are to children!…read more I think food trucks are the best method of experiencing what locals have to offer. While heading to pickup my Yelp-buddy, Goldie, I spotted this tiny red food truck but, wasn't sure of what they were serving. Of course you know... being a Yelper. We had to circle back around to check out the scene and that's how I discovered this amazing Cuban food truck! I ordered a delicious, Mango, fruit juice smoothie that tasted just like a well blended/creamed mango. For $3, the size of that smoothie was definitely a steal! The food truck chef or owners was cool, especially, Ordalis (not sure if that's how you spell her name but, I tired.) They've recently opened up a couple of months ago and is only closed on Mondays. There's a small picnic-style dining area next to the food truck for those who enjoy watching the street view while chowing down. And there's only curb-side street parking. I'm loving how this Arlington area is growing with local eateries or food trucks. I can't wait to return for a real taste of Cuba.

But I gave it a shot, and I must say, these sandwiches are FANTASTIC. The steak is filet mignon and as the previous poster said it just melts in your mouth. Turns out their teriyaki wings were pretty awesome, also. The Mongolian beef wrap was messy, but tasty and not spicy at all, as described on the menu. I actually ordered the Mongolian chicken, but beef is what came out and I'm not picky. The GF had their beef and bleu sandwich. I believe MF's uses filet mignon for all of their steak sandwiches and that makes for very melt-in-your-mouth stuff. Mother Fletcher's (who now accepts credit cards, btw) sometimes parks behind the EverBank buiding in Riverside during weekday lunches (11am-1:30pm). They're based out of St. Augustine so you'll probably encounter them there most often. The overlords at work made a mistake and gave me a day off, so I was actually able to catch them in Riverside. Otherwise, I probably would've had to wait until the next rally.
