While heading to pickup my Yelp-buddy, Goldie, I spotted this tiny red food truck but, wasn't sure of what they were serving. Of course you know... being a Yelper. We had to circle back around to check out the scene and that's how I discovered this amazing Cuban food truck! I ordered a delicious, Mango, fruit juice smoothie that tasted just like a well blended/creamed mango. For $3, the size of that smoothie was definitely a steal! The food truck chef or owners was cool, especially, Ordalis (not sure if that's how you spell her name but, I tired.) They've recently opened up a couple of months ago and is only closed on Mondays. There's a small picnic-style dining area next to the food truck for those who enjoy watching the street view while chowing down. And there's only curb-side street parking. I'm loving how this Arlington area is growing with local eateries or food trucks. I can't wait to return for a real taste of Cuba.

It is unique the way the organizers make such an effort to foster a sense of tradition and not just focus on making a commercial music festival. The definition of folk music is fairly broad here - bluegrass, blues, Celtic, etc. It is mostly acoustic and a lot of emphasis on original songwriting (perhaps a homage to Stephen Foster). All the most beautiful sounds creative, acoustic songwriters can make inspired by a breathtaking natural setting. Just go to the river stage and you will understand. I will give you the negatives, but it gets 5-stars anyway EASILY. As with most festivals, the food vendors don't have a good selection, value, or quality. There is the occasional attempt at some different foods (hand churned ice cream) and regional (collard greens), so that is appreciated. Since it is May it is often hot and parking is a long walk but the stages are shaded and there are golf carts always offering you a ride to your next spot. Last year we stayed at Kelly's RV park down the highway and loved it. White Springs is a small town with places to camp all around. There is something magical about this festival whether you are from Florida, love Florida, or want to learn about Florida nature, history, and culture, just show up and it will happen. I am dumbfounded every time I meet someone who is from Florida and doesn't know about this festival.

You know I guess I love to eat too. So when we walked in we had to park a block away because there were a lot of cars around. Unfortunately Jacksonville doesn't have very many parking garages in useful locations so you kind of have to search for parking but we managed to find one in front of the Chamblain's book mine. Right when we walked in there was this itty-bitty little camp her that was selling coffee and I didn't get any but I thought that was kind of cute. There was also a stage with the band performing in they were actually pretty good. There were several types of stands half of the plaza and the other half was pretty much dedicated to food trucks and stands. I got some really remarkable toffee although it was $12 for an 8 ounce can but it was really really good. There were some interesting crafts for sale also. Were a bunch of food trucks there including some regular favorites and a couple I was not familiar with. I don't know if they rotate them out or not but it was interesting to be able to sample all the different trucks in the same location. It was kind of chilly tonight, it would've been better if it wasn't so cold but of course that's not the fault of the planners. I will definitely be back for the next one of these because I really enjoyed it.

A very unique market because it's held in the evenings where you could plan a cool "date night" with your significant other, sipping on some local beers, checking out the artist and vendors and really feeling part of everything that's making Jax a cool place to live. Just get there early enough so parking shouldn't ever be an issue as street spots are free after 6pm for everyone. Thanks City of Jacksonville.
