    Black Marker Cover Up 2

    On 9-14-25, we bought a 2016 Hyundai Elantra for my daughter who was starting college. Adam Daoud was the Sales Rep. Within the first 2 weeks, the car started dying at intersections, or when coming to a stop. This was extremely dangerous for my daughter because cars would have to go around her while she tried to get the car started again. We took the car into our trusted mechanic on 10-2-25 for a full diagnostic test, even though Adam swore one had been completed at International Auto Outlet. It was at this time that we discovered that someone had used a black magic marker to cover up the dashboard screen to conceal the engine warning light. (see attached photos) The diagnostic test revealed that a bad oxygen sensor was the reason for the engine stalling. I paid for a new oxygen sensor. Parts and labor totaled $421.07 I called Adam that same day and notified him of the situation. I requested to be compensated for parts and labor due to the concealment issue and the danger this had placed my daughter in while operating the vehicle. He said that his General Manager was out of town, but I should send an email with the photos. So I did. I didn't hear back right away, so I waited until 10-8-25 and called Adam again. He said his manager was now dealing with a family emergency, but he would pass along my information. Adam called back on 10-9-25 stating his manager would call me by end of the day, but he never did. On 10-10-25, I called Adam for another follow up. Once again, he said he would contact his manager. I asked for the General Manager's name and Adam said it was 'Bob'. I asked for a last name and Adam would not provide it. He said it was not important. Adam called me back later that day and said he spoke with his General Manager (Bob Kaldas, which I got from the BBB website) and Service Manager. Adam stated that his manager felt that since they gave me a 'healthy discount' off the original price of the car and they have no knowledge of a bad oxygen sensor, or black magic marker cover-up on the engine warning light, then they would not be reimbursing me. Adam offered me to bring the car back into his mechanics, but I said the car had already been fixed. That offer made no sense. Also, I do not trust International Auto Outlet, or their mechanics. There is no way I would allow them to work on a vehicle that my family drives. Ever! I am hoping this review will help others avoid the deceptive practices they use. Buyers Beware!

    PSA- To all buyers past, present, or future! Let's talk about my trade for a sec. I turned in a 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade (picture added here) with a blown head gasket for a 2007 Jeep Commander. My old Jeep hit their lot 7 days later. (Sketchy) Now I may not be able to help everyone, but if I can a few people with this post it's worth it. FYI- if you have any complaints it is my opinion that you file a complaint immediately with the Better Business Bureau! Read all complaints in the BBB, Google, and anywhere else you can find them! Upon arriving on their lot the Commander was brought to me with a flat tire and no gas. I had to pay for gas to test drive it! It had been raining all week and I inquired for 3 days about the windshield! It has some white stuff at the top right corner like it had been patched up! It Took 3 days to purchase as I found several issues that were fixed. 2nd day I test drove it again, and the starter was going out. Also fixed the next day. 3rd day I closed. The entire 3 days I asked about the windshield and a soaked floor. Solomon knew nothing. Every single day the floor was vaccumed so they knew it was leaking from somewhere!!. I wound up having to pay for not only a new windshield, but the sunroof had to be fixed also. It sat lower than the roof. On the 3rd day of ownership my dash was soaked, and I could go swimming on the floorboard. It had rained hard all night! I was turned away for reimbursement from Solomon for the windshield reimbursement!!! New windshield was $269.59. The side airbags were soaked as well! I had to temporarily patch the sunroof (image included) with 3M tape because I had to get the second issue taken care of first! Sunroof cost was only $200. Friend of mine fixed it. Was off track from the bracket, and countersunk! I figured this issue out myself! The images of the water leak were after the sunroof was fixed. Not much water then, so that showed the windshield needed replaced. Now I have no leak issues! Issue 2 (DEADLY) After a month I noticed exhaust coming up under my 2 year olds door. They rigged a universal muffler with no tail pipe on the Jeep (pictures included). If I hadn't noticed this it could have given us CO2 poisoning, and killed us overtime. I have a two year old, and a 5 year old! This also could have fell off, and caused an accident. They don't seem too concerned about your safety, just a few extra bucks in their pocket. I had to have an entire new system put on costing me around $700. I got $200 back from them through the BBB. You can see the complaint on their website!!! In their reply they had no explanation for this showing that they lie about "fully inspecting their vehicles!" It is in my experience that if you decide to buy from them take it to a mechanic, and test drive it for quite sometime. Ask them to check the codes to make sure nothing has been erased. Mechanics can do this for you, and it's not illegal for shady car lots to erase codes, and then sell it to you! I had to replace two censors on the transmission a few weeks later ($360) I test drove mine twice, and the second time the starter was going out! They want you to play "where's Waldo" in finding issues with their vehicles hoping that you don't! I have proven twice through the BBB that they in fact DO NOT fully inspect their vehicles as they state to other complaints! They will simply tell you "they do fully inspect," or you bought "As Is," as a petty excuse for their shadiness!!! Basically "GO AWAY NOW!" Now that I have exposed them legitimately through the BBB for their falsehood of transparency , and lies they hurl insults at me! Saying I have "petty complaints," as I had inquired about the water leak for several days. Be mindful of your priorities to yourself! Seemingly you have about a 50/50 chance of not getting screwed over here by the amount of complaints on several combined sites. If that's a risk you're willing to take, that's yours to own! They are salesmen after all, and will sell you ANYTHING as I have showed here in this post, and through the BBB! To their reply: oh I'm very sincere about my review. It coincides with your replies in the BBB. You in fact DONT FULLY INSPECT YOUR VEHICLES as you state, and I did in fact ask about the leak for several days! Also you did NOT give me money for repairs. I already paid $700 for a full exhaust system, and you offered a measly $200. Your ratings, and complaints just so how full of it you all are! I caught you guys twice with photo evidence, and receipts! And in the photos is the original title to my Jeep that you did put back in the lot with a blown head gasket! Seemingly your ratings, and responses to consumers will drive people away. You'll lose more than the $286 I spent on a windshield. That's satisfying enough "Bob!"

I told her again that I was not looking for an express lane, that I had made an appoitment. She continued to insist it would be 90 minutes. I decided to wait because I had a coupon for almost 1/2 off of an oil change. At 9:45 they send me a video of my car on the lift. It still had the old filter on it so I am willing to bet my car with a 9:00 appointment sat there until 9:45 until they started working on it. My car was done at 9:10 which seemed like a reasonable amount of time for a car to get an oil change and inspection done. This again reaffirmed in my mind that my car sat 45 minutes before being worked on. Don't be fooled into thinking that having an appointment means that they are going to work on your car at that time. Don't be fooled into thinking that 4 or 5 service advisors standing at their desks doing nothing means one of them is going to call you over to work with you. I don't think I will be taking my car back there.

Worst car buying experience of my life and I WISH I HAD TAKEN MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I bought a car over Thanksgiving weekend, and I am still yet to receive a title, the second key, and was forced to pay more than $2400 up front for title work that is yet to be completed, SCAM! On Nov. 28th 2025, I found a '25 Santa Fe online for my wife. My father-in-law and I went in the morning to see the car and take it for a test drive. The salesperson had no knowledge of the vehicle, features, warranty, etc. - they just kept mentioning the "Jeff Wyler Experience" and its "benefits" but no provided objective information or details about the car. My wife liked the car, so we asked them to draw up the paperwork when we got back to the dealership. To our surprise, the cost of the vehicle came back OVER $8,000 MORE THAN ADVERTISED online, more than half of which was allocated to a bogus "Jeff Wyler Experience" warranty package they had rolled in as well as other fees and incremental warranties that didn't make sense at all! They neglected to mention that the factory warranty is already one of the best in the market at 5yr/60k mi basic and 10yr/100k mi powertrain - a huge selling point that a knowledgeable salesperson would have known and communicated, and making the need for additional warranty not necessary! We should've walked out then and there... After eventually agreeing to a reasonable price level excluding all the bogus on-cost, we then lost another ~3-4 hrs waiting for the Finance team to write up the deal and sign a Purchase Agreement. They ultimately provided us paperwork that didn't match the agreed sales order, and as was almost 8PM they tell us to come back in the morning with our check and that they will issue us a "We Owe You" order for the balance owed (which has NOT been paid to-date). The Salesperson person tells us to come back first thing the next morning and they will have the car detailed and through the CPO process for us to pick up. We arrive at 10AM with our check and expect to collect the car, but the Sales Manager tells us that we can't pickup as the car is, "in the back going through the detail." My father-in-law points out that the car is clearly parked next to the front entrance where they left it the previous evening. Embarrassed, the sales manager has someone pull the car in for detail, and they tell us to come back at 4PM for collection. Before making another 30min drive, I call the Sales Manager at 3:30PM, and he informs me the car is STILL not done, and to come back at 6PM. I finally collect the car later in the evening, and wish that was the end of the story.. It's now nearly 3 months from purchase, and we are still without a title for the car or the $2400 I paid for taxes/registration, second key, or "we owe you" balance. The temporary registration that came with the car is long expired, and Jeff Wyler refuses to make it right with an updated registration tag until our plate arrives. They have essentially stopped responding to all forms of communication, and we've had to issue a formal complaint with the Ohio Better Business Bureau. Save yourself the trouble and buy from anywhere else. These guys act and operate no better than a sleezy used car sales lot with better glass windows..

At one point when looking at numbers one of them even said "let me dumb this down" They also exaggerated how difficult the process would be if I didn't finance through them. After telling them no for what felt like the 100th time I left. Went to another dealership the same day and bought a vehicle with no issues.

This dealer does not finance or accept credit cards, cash only. I told the owner I have no problem paying cash, but it being late and all I will give him a deposit and I would be back Monday morning to pay for the car and pick it up. The owner asked me how much can I leave as a deposit. I replied $100. He said no, he needs $500 to hold it. I asked what the problem was, if I don't come back you keep my $100. He said I have had people give me $200 and they never come back. First of all... BS! I don't believe that for a minute. Why would that upset this guy? Hold the car for a day or so, sell it to another person and keep the $200. What an idiot! I would not just give someone $100, much less $200. He said he needs $500. Really? Like most people carry $500 on them. Typically I only have less than $20, but happen to have a couple hundred. When he said that, I didn't even try to offer the $237 I had in total. Very, Very bad business ethics. I was completely dumbfounded, pissed, embarrassed and offended thinking this guy just flat doesn't trust me or think I am a poor ass. I made $140,000 this year and this dumbass wouldn't sell me this car with a deposit to hold over Sunday, for which they are not open. I'm sure if I was Cuban, it would have been different. In 57 years I never even heard of a dealer not willing to bind a deal with a deposit. For God's sake, the car was only $2800. Lastly, I wouldn't get a car from this joker if it was free, nor would I let anyone I know get a car from him, no matter the price and I'm going to hit every review website I can find. Horrible car dealer!!!
