They were uber responsive on coming out and doing an estimate. The explanation of work to be done was very complete and in plain language. Bid was commensurate with other bids, but I chose Nolan's because of word of mouth recommendations and the time the estimator took to explain things to me. My only criticism would be the mis-communication about starting date; otherwise a stellar job and would highly recommend to anyone wanting good quality roofing done. Juan was amazing!

However that has not been stated in email and phone communication that we've had, in fact there has been no communication in over a week from them. Within a week, Arbutus had an estimate to me sent via email and followed up with a hard copy in the mail. I waited at least a month for the others to finally dribble in. After comparing each estimate carefully, and against one another, I decided to go with Arbutus. I hoped the prompt and professional way they handled the estimate would follow through with the actual job. I was right. Within two weeks they were in touch with me to book the job. When finally we got a good day they arrived at 7:30 am and were finished by 4 pm. That's right, the entire job and cleanup was done in one short day. The guys were friendly, professional and did what they could to minimize any inconvenience. I have a neighbour who is GM for a large commercial roofing company and he checked out the job Arbutus did. He was impressed and so am I. Oh yeah, they were also the lowest bidder.

About a year later, we had a branch fall on our roof, causing a leak. He answered my call that night, recalled the colour of roofing we had, and was onsite the next morning to repair the damage. We have also had him come and clean the gutters and roof, and inspect for damage seasonally. He cleans up the yard and driveway well afterward, sometimes better than it was! His prices are certainly fair for the service he provides. We would recommend Darren to anyone with roofing needs.

So we took the time to do our research and talked to almost a dozen dealers. The local company that stood out was DoorCare; their manufacturer was Clopay; and the model we loved was the Canyon Ridge Modern. It was by far the most expensive choice, but worth every penny in our minds. There is not a garage door like it in our neighbourhood and has added much more value to our home than the cost. The gorgeous door itself along with the Liftmaster 8500W side-mount garage opener are whisper quiet. We now also have battery backup in the case of a power outage as well as the myQ Smart app built-in to operate the garage door remotely. Our salesperson Steve was thorough in presenting the various options, and the installation went very quickly and professionally. It was a positive experience from start to finish.
