In addition to the wide open…read morespaces, trees, and fountains, the Volunteer Park Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum are also located here. If you want to see a good view of Seattle, check out the Volunteer Park Water Tower's observation deck in the southeast corner of Volunteer Park right on top of Capitol Hill. There's no elevator so be prepared to climb the 107 stairs to the top and be rewarded with 360-degree view of Seattle! There are bars and fencing at the windows though, which does detract a little from the experience. Between the windows are informational signs about Seattle's history. I'll be back to check out the art museum and the conservatory in the future!

It can also be an ideal place for a neighborhood BBQ or just a cool spot to lay out and read a book. One of the best parts is simply relaxing along the waterfront path and watching the steady stream of Washington State Ferries traveling back and forth across the Sound. During the summer months, the park even features an outdoor swimming pool. Our main reason for visiting was to see Bruun Idun created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, and it did not disappoint. While walking the Puget Sound trail to find the troll, we also spotted a bald eagle perched in its nest--very cool! After snapping photos, we were treated to a beautiful sunset over the water. With nature, art, and incredible views all in one place, Lincoln Park is absolutely worth a visit.

There might also be a line of.cars waiting foe the nearby ferry. It's been cleaned up a lot in the last few years, no more open air drug market.

While going down the stairs, there is a small dirt path you can veer off and see the plants/some flowers. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you'll see a nice open space with benches and a grassy area ideal for a small picnic or playing with your dog or kids. Venture a little further and you'll see a small ramp that leads out to the water. Here, you can easily launch boats/canoes/kayaks or simply just sit and enjoy the nice view of the water and such. For a sunny day, this place was close to being super empty (at least, to me when I visited), which is pretty awesome if you're seeking a nice oasis from the busy city vibe and such. Do be aware that there are quite a few gnats and bugs near the grassy area but nothing near the water :) Also, the park itself super small and you can easily just finish everything in like.....10min or less.

It's a small park hidden off of Eastlake Ave. Here you will find two or three benches, a small patch of grass, a neighborhood garden patch and a boat launch that's perfect for canoes or kayaks. It's really an important part of the neighborhood and is very bustling every time I go through it. It's an exciting place to go also as there are festivals, demonstrations, artists popping up with their work as you stroll through. Yes, this park is full of life. Perhaps it's too much for some people as it isn't always the most quietest place but the water features (sometimes with ducks) are quite pleasant and if you are into sports there seems to be a good area for that as well. But as I said I enjoy most of all the people watching as it is diverse and eclectic.

The park offers a beautiful view of Magnolia, Ballard, and the Fisherman's terminal. It's a wide open space, perfect for star gazing. The art at the park includes a sun dial, cement orbs, and the entrance is paved with a design of moon phases. We found wild dill, and rose hips in the park.
