This is a wonderful little park with a view, tucked away in Fremont. I could see it was a nice day and I wanted to appreciate the mountains. This pocket park is situated in the Fremont neighborhood. Parking is located on the street outside the park. There is usually plenty of parking available. The park offers a beautiful view of Magnolia, Ballard, and the Fisherman's terminal. It's a wide open space, perfect for star gazing. The art at the park includes a sun dial, cement orbs, and the entrance is paved with a design of moon phases. We found wild dill, and rose hips in the park. read more

Fremont Peak Park is a new park that opened in early November near the junction of Phinney Ridge, Fremont and Ballard. This is a diminutive spot that is nestled in a residental area at the south end of Phinney Ridge. The park is fairly small and was originally the site of three houses. Instead of tearing them down and replacing them with mixed-use/urban oasis/vaulted ceilings/gas cooking/granite kitchen/2 br 2 ba/high quality finish/natural light/private deck/no homeowner dues/1 car gar/wood exterior condominiums.......shockingly, they decided to replace them with a park. It's a nice change. The park is limited in size and mostly consists of a walkway that meanders through a grove of trees and ends at a small grassy area at the edge of the park. At this spot are panoramic views of the Ballard Bridge and the Olympic mountains. I'd see it as a nice place for a few quiet moments or a calming afternoon lunch. I am not a park person (I find them typically just to be open fields of short cut grass exposed aka hot and boring) but this little nugget is a gem! It's the size of a house lot (quarter acre-ish I'm guessing?) but it has tall trees providing shade and serenity, gorgeous vistas from which on a clear day you can see the Olympics! It's a quiet, neighborhood spot perfect for a small picnic or a peaceful thinking spot. :) read more

In my early morning runs around Queen Anne Hill, I've often looked over northwards and wondered "Can there be a view in Phinney Ridge that rivals the one from 10th & Bertona?" The answer, I think, is no. But nevertheless, Fremont Peak Park is a lovely little gem tucked into a neighborhood of intimate, unimposing homes. Graveled paths meander through a grassy area to a sweeping view of the canal and, if sunny, the Olympics beyond. A short hike up the hill from Fremont to this peaceful spot would be a perfect way to enjoy a summer (or spring/fall/winter) afternoon, post-brunch, or to show off the city you love to your out-of-town guests when you categorically refuse to go to touristy places any longer. As I do. Or, for yourself, several benches, and grassy spots in the sun to maybe sit and do some reading, musing, or mental wanderings pre-happy hour. And remind yourself that anyone within walking distance of a view like this one is, all things considered, deeply lucky. read more

Frankly how can one rate a park less then say a 4 star... It would have to have all kinds of mess like blatant drug usage and drunkenness ... This is a part on the other side of lesser parks. Granted there are no facilities for children but having gone there a few times I noticed that kids have great imaginations and they seem to figured stuff out. Dogs on leash is cool and at times I have let the little guys go and run a bit. If you have to say think about something difficult this is a great park to go to an ruminate or meditate on the answer. I know your not suppose to bring drinks to this place but I have had a Scotch or three, I am not in any way saying you should but hey if you don't flaunt it you can get away with it. read more

Jonathan Safran Foer was a published author by this age. What had I done recently? Nearly prestiged on the new Call of Duty, but I wasn't getting a Wikipedia page for that. I needed to take a walk. Get some of that fresh Seattle air. I bundled up in an argyle scarf and pulled some fingerless gloves on. I checked the temperature outside and hesitated before I left. Where was I going? What would I find? Ultimately I stepped in some dog shit at Fremont Peak Park. My life wasn't suddenly put into perspective, but at least I reduced my screen time. Yes, nestled a few blocks from my home was a place of solitude with little concern for petty things like seating. I needed to stretch my legs and the Fremont Peak Park provided an escape. read more

Urban oasis. I wouldn't call this a park, you can walk it's one, circular path in two minutes. It's more a nice green area in the middle of the city, an urban oasis. I enjoyed it none the less. It's well kept and provides a peaceful lookout area over the lake and city. Came here to enjoy my Paseo Cuban Roast, it's a hop and a skip away, but didn't find much in the way of benches, apparently this park is not made for lingering. Or maybe I couldn't see past the two dog owners playing with their dogs, they occupied half the park...this plot is tiny. Worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood. read more

The Peak Park is an adorable neighborhood park in upper Fremont. I live nearby and never get tired of dropping in with a book or a friend and a (discreet) bottle of wine. The views are incredible and other visitors are usually quiet and respectful, making the park feel like your own backyard (which for me, it kind of is!) Community members maintain the garden and keep an eye on things to make sure that the Fremont drunks aren't making too wild a ruckus. read more

This is a really small park tucked away in Fremont. It's very well maintained and artsy. There are no facilities but it's a quiet place to sit and think. The view is okay. I don't think you should go out of your way to see this park but if you happen to be in the area, maybe it's worth checking out. read more

My friends and I had just gotten sandwiches at Paseo, and of course, there were no seats so we searched nearby parks since, unfortunately, I'm not extremely familiar with Fremont. This came up and had good ratings. It's very small but it's quite nice. There's a beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains across the sound. At this park I had one of those moments where I felt so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. It was very peaceful, only two other people; one was sketching and one was painting, which was pretty neat. Unfortunately an iPhone camera doesn't do the view justice. read more

i came here with my friend in search of something to do with the rest of our bus transfer. i heard of a park that overlooks seattle and there we went. you really can see seattle pretty well but parts of it are tucked behind queen anne hill. its a great place to just relax and revel in the company of the streetlights or some friends. i would definately come back to watch sunset. read more

The ultimate pocket park. If you want to show your visitors a few of the great things about Seattle, take them first the Lighthouse coffee, then to this park to watch the sunset. This park was conceived, created and is maintained by and for the neighborhood. It has lots of cool artistic aspects, from the sidewalk to the viewing area. Take your time as you wander this tiny park. Bring a book you don't want anymore and hit the little free library one or two houses to the south to give and get a book on your way out or in. read more

I love how hidden and private this park is. Most of the time I go there, I'm the only one. Great place to overlook Ballard and the Olympics.

Not that impressed with the view....it looked quite different than the pictures. It seems like the shrubs just in front of the park have grown up and blocked a bit of the scenery. I also came on a cloudy-ish day so that probably affected my review a bit as well. I'm sure I'd enjoy the location much more if I lived nearby. There's also not really anywhere easy to sit. Other than that I came on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet. read more
