This is only about the lounge area on 2nd floor: Decided to go to the Intercontinental for a work meeting since it's near my place of employment. The outdoor valet greeted us and helped us with the door, elevator and informed us that the rooftop lounge didn't open for about another hour (4pm) and suggested the 2nd floor. It was nice and beautiful. There were a few people enjoying the bar area. We decided to sit near the windows on very comfy plush sofas. The service was excellent by the server. We recently stayed at the Intercontinental Indy and had a mix of experiences. Here's a breakdown of our stay: Cons: * Unfortunately, the rooftop bar wasn't open on the first (and only sunny) day of our visit. It seems they often rent it out for private events, so if you're specifically looking forward to the rooftop, be prepared for potential closures for guests. * Upon arrival, we discovered that our room needed to be cleaned again. The bathroom door had hair stuck all over it, and there was also hair on the bed. It was quite off-putting, especially since we had already unpacked. We didn't want to switch rooms, but it did gross us out. The front desk was responsive, arranging for a re-clean and providing a hotel credit, which was appreciated. * We found it difficult to reach the front desk. The phone would ring endlessly, and after 2-3 attempts, we often gave up. Pros: * The second-level bar deserves a special mention for having one of the best bartenders! We tried his signature drink, the Silent Bloom, made with gin, Aperol, grapefruit, and lime. It was served ice cold in a martini glass and was absolutely delicious. We ended up ordering this every night before heading out--perfect for a refreshing buzz! * When we finally got to the rooftop bar, we were blessed with outstanding service from Addison. She was attentive and even helped replace a drink I didn't enjoy with something better. The views of Indianapolis from up there are incredible, and the food was also tasty. I had the deviled eggs, which were delightful, while my husband loved the bao buns. * The valet service was exceptionally helpful and kind. We had the same gentleman assist us upon arrival and departure, which added a personal touch. * The hotel's location was fantastic--right by the fountain and within walking distance to many attractions. Although we didn't do much walking due to some rain, the proximity was convenient. Plus, our trip to the DMB show at Deer Creek was only a 45-minute drive, making it easy for our driver to pick us up and drop us off. What a beautiful hotel?! If one can afford it, I absolutely recommend. The best part of the hotel was the employees. Jackson S., the doorman, was absolutely fantastic. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. Zeke, the bartender, was incredibly personable and made a delicious drink. Every single staff member was splendid, and I love that they send check in text during your stay. My room had all of the things I needed, and even more. From the lighted bathroom floors, to the phone charger and intimacy supplies in the drawers, they thought of everything. I truly appreciated having a water station on the floor and access to water cans while on the go. I will definitely be returning on my next work trip. read more

The toilet paper here is impossible to use without it getting stuck in every single nook and cranny where the sun don't shine. Not only is this insanely unhygienic, but it ruins the mood when you want to get intimate with the person you're staying with. Also, if the toilet paper doesn't do its only job, what do you think people are using instead to clean themselves? The towels, that's right! Meaning every towel in this hotel likely has been up someone's genitals. Disgusting. This is also one of those hotels that doesn't have any true bathroom privacy in terms of sound/smell, so prepare for that. We stayed here 4 days/3 nights last weekend while in town for a concert. Great location within walking distance to most shopping and dining in downtown Indy. This is a beautiful hotel with unique design and art, the rooms are spacious with comfy beds and pillows, free hydration stations with water and ice, and the elevator system runs smoothly never a long wait. The entire staff here were very attentive and accommodating. Walking into the lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel is like stepping back in time. This gorgeous hotel just celebrated its centennial anniversary. Located just outside the Circle in the heart of downtown Indy you will find this antiquated yet polished gem. I had no idea it was there until I attended a holiday party recently. The first impression was great. The signage for the elevators appears to be in their original state which is really cool to see. I loved watching them light up. Everything is in pristine condition. The food is exceptional. I had a steak which was one of the best I've had in quite some time. The service was excellent. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The bar is beautiful and the view of Monument Circle is stunning at night. I would definitely recommend going here for a drink, dinner and overnight stay especially to out of town guests. What an amazing hotel, seriously. This might be one of the best InterContinentals I have ever stayed in. This hotel is inside a beautifully renovated historic building, and everything about our stay was top-notch from start to finish. Before we even arrived, my parents and I received a welcome email from the concierge personally greeting us and offering help with anything we might need -- such a thoughtful touch. Honestly, every InterContinental should do this. The rooms are beyond spacious -- holy cow -- and super modern, spotless, and comfortable. We were even greeted with welcome snacks like mixed nuts, which was such a nice surprise. The location can't be beat, right in the heart of downtown, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout our stay. The fitness centre is beautiful and well-equipped. Super nice room , spacious and clean. The rooftop area was closed for a private event, which was disappointing. There is no spa or pool which would have been nice. Learning how to operate the elevators took a minute and the sofas by the restaurant were stained. Everyone was super helpful and nice and would stay there again when in the area. read more

My husband and I decided on a little getaway close to home to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We were so impressed with Intercontinental and the staff!!! The hotel is stunning & so classy! When we checked in, Russell & Lovely Mae were so welcoming and excited that we were there to celebrate 30 years of marriage. Shortly after we arrived in our room there was a knock on the door. Russell and Lovely Mae had sent up a beautiful dessert and waters as a gift and included such sweet cards too!! Russell also treated us to a hot breakfast the next morning, which was delicious! We were very impressed with everything this hotel offered, the cleanliness was excellent, and everyone working there from the Valet gentleman, front office, restaurants, and bars in this hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made us feel like we were the most important guests there and we were so appreciative! It just added that much more joy to our celebration! read more

Awesome experience staying there for opening weekend. Was impressed overall with the hotel. Service was off the charts as everyone was very helpful and happy to assist with whatever we needed. King Premium room was chic with a fresh feel. It can be loud at night if you are going to bed early being so close to Monument Circle. Had breakfast at Serliana and would highly recommend that if you are staying the night there. Several parking garages nearby or valet for $65. From the second Jackson met us at our Uber and retrieved our luggage from the trunk, I knew this would be a classy stay. The front desk staff was equally impressive, gracious, and kind. The room has all the extras: robe, slippers, steamer, flashlight, safe, mini-bar (more like a maxi-bar), under cabinet lights that illuminate upon entry, a beautiful large glass shower, and extremely comfortable beds. The rooms are pretty average in size, but the high ceilings make them seem spacious while the crown molding draws your eyes up. I had a another reservation with a nearby hotel and am really glad I choose to keep this one. read more
