Washington state has enough money for highway sweepers to clean up the debris and glass on all highways. I have provided a picture of their highway and what it looks like on 167. WSDOT DO BETTER! This service operates only…read moreduring daytime hours (up to somewhere between 6:00 and 7:00 PM) during the week with limited service on Saturday. There are four bus lines with transfer points for transferring between lines. I only used the Red Line, Bus Route 30. It routes through major points in Chehalis to include the Safeway Grocery then to the very cute old part of Chehalis, past the Fairgrounds, Wal-Mart, and all the way up to Amtrak. If you are staying in any of the hotels on Interstate Street in Chehalis, it's a brisk half mile walk to the closest bus stop, which is Route 30. The stop is at the Safeway, but it's in the back, behind, on 11th street, and it's near the garbage container so a little smelly. On the other hand, if you are staying at any of the RV parks, they are too far away from any bus stop. I found their schedules hard to read and somewhat confusing. For example, Bus Route 30 makes a complete loop. The Lewis County shopping mall is on Hampe Street, which can be accessed on both sides of this loop. The schedule does not make it clear whether the bus accesses the mall going north or going south on the loop. It doesn't even address WHEN it stops at this mall. From riding the loop, I discovered it DOES access the mall from both sides of the loop. Well, it would have been nice to know that on the schedule....... Another issue was that since it was a "loop," well, when the bus finishes the "loop" at the last "time point," does it start over again, or do they put another bus at "time point #1" at the beginning of the loop and you have to transfer to another bus if you happen to be on it going that direction? Found out it does keep going on the next scheduled loop, but it would have been nice to have that clarified on the schedule. I think there are so many situations like this that it would make their schedule too complicated and they are just trying to keep it easy and keep the schedule to one page. Another rider on the bus kind of joked, "This is usual for Centralia/Chehalis, they give you limited information and you have to fill in the blanks....." The busses are about the size you would expect but I was surprised at the small number of seats in the bus. They space the seats farther apart than the seats on busses in larger cities. Even a tall person can ride comfortably. In large cities, even though I'm short, I feel crunched in the seats, but on the Twin Transit bus, I had a lot of leg room.

I love some of the cool shirts some drivers wear( those Hawaiian looking ones). When I first rode a Pierce transit bus, drivers were wearing vests and burgundy colors. Now they wear a nice blue color uniform! I have seen drivers come and go. When I first rode Pierce Transit drivers were very friendly and you get to know them well. Now fast forward in 2025, things are just so different. I do not know if the pandemic and crime has affected how our drivers interact with passengers. I am not sure. Today October 6 at around 8 this morning, my elderly husband took a trip and needed assistance with his destination. I understand drivers have a bit of duties other than driving. But passengers are paying customers and they should be very attentive to them especially the disabled and elderly ones. I have a problem with this. This morning was just too much for me. It only takes a second to direct a passenger to where they need to go. My husband called me and I can hear my husband ask for an assistance to his driver several times and he was not getting any response. I hung up and called the customer relations and I just felt let down. The man who called to respond to my complaint about my husband's experience was very curt and condescending. Frankly he could care less. You know I am hurt to give them so low stars but lately it has lost its shiny splendor of service. Do not get me wrong , there are still awesome drivers that make Pierce Transit shine. I acknowledge this and hope this review will encourage Pierce Transit to focus on all passengers from young , elderly , disabled and other. It is great that they offer free services to our youth and I adore even the mascot Boop! Yes I think that they can do this ! Apply it more in their training! It is a great company and I am confident that with hard work that Pierce Transit can be the way to go! I would love to give more stars but I am very disappointed at this time. I think crimes and possibly pure work burnout can be a factor . But it is never an excuse to ignore or mistreat elderly or disabled passengers. They are paying passengers too. I love Pierce Transit and I have to tell it like it is because they can do better!

I arrived at the crosswalk and was in the middle of the road merely steps away from the bus when the driver started to pull off. "Wait! PLEASE wait!" I called out but the driver continued to drive away. It was the kindness of Pierce Transit Supervisor Kristian that made my entire day. He offered to give me a ride to the transit station where I was heading to avoid me being stranded in the cold. I am writing this review because he had no idea of the type of week I had just survived nor my health condition but he powered up the heat as soon as I arrived and gave me a smooth and safe ride to my destination. It literally made my day. I'm extremely grateful for his generosity. I thanked him repeatedly and his response was "Pierce Transit cares for thier customers." I did not know that courtesy rides like this existed and I'll never forget the kindness that he showed me when I had no other options.

The cat at the desk did an amazing job of totally ignoring me for 20 minutes (literally) while talking to some bozo on the phone. No telling when the conversation started but in 20 minutes I learned more than I ever wanted to know about bus 94 and connections to the Amtrak station. I guess if your job is to field calls for gonzo idiots you have to expect that after a while they'd get a glazed over, stoned expression on their face. Anyway, Mr Ball-of-fire dutifully accepted my already completed form and said that the computer system is down and that the IT guys were trying to fix it but the repairs could take weeks. Being an IT guy myself I was not aware of any mushroom clouds lingering over any data centers so no idea what this character was talking about except that he was obviously blowing me off. DMV-speak for get lost, don't call us, we'll call you. OK, fine. The transit center itself was fine. Every bus had a stall and every stall had a bus so it's all good.

Touring the West Coast on a Greyhound was really an experience and I got to see a lot, but I would never do it again. This bus station on 7th Avenue is located right in the centre of town, and I came in on the line from Portland with a stop in Centralia. This is just a tiny little Greyhound station but it's nice that it's here, that's for sure. It actually looks like a little store in the middle of town, but it's actually the Greyhound bus station. The transit center itself is slightly larger but not that much more impressive, still cute though. Very cute indeed, and looks like something straight out of 1953 or something. And they also have the cool overhanging thing where the buses drive through, like a lot of stations do in this part of the world. One of my favourites in the country then.
