They run every half hour or so which is very convenient. Amtrak, like most USA rail systems, rarely runs on time so if you're headed to Seattle or Portland allow plenty of time for delays. Doesn't take much to throw these trains seriously off schedule.

Prior to the insanity I used to take the Amtrak from Portland to Seattle on a regular basis. Now that Seattle has become too dangerous to visit, Centralia became my preferred get-away from the big city. I've been traveling Amtrak for many decades and the staff has always been great. So I can't really single out the staff in Centralia as being anything special.... they are just similarly great as compared to their peers at other stations and rail crews. I'm really happy that the Cascades run is still getting priority with Amtrak along with the Coast Starliner and the once daily run to B.C. As for Centralia specifically, even though there is usually only a couple of people getting on or off at this station stop, I'm really happy that Amtrak is keeping this depot in top notch condition. One sad note is the increasingly dire situation with homeless and their aggressive panhandling. Also, there is always recent evidence of car break-ins in the station parking lots so you/your vehicle are not as safe as it should be. This reality is certainly a deterrent to any sort of tourism to the area.

The trains and the stations are clean and well maintained. There's a good security presence, so I always feel safe when I'm riding. The wait time at the platforms isn't very long because the trains run so often. The cost isn't very much, for a trip that takes me about an hour. The trains get a little crowded during certain legs, but I can usually find a seat. There are even spots where you can store your luggage. It's a well though out, well managed system.

It's great to be able to do this as I was not in the mood to purchase a card right then. Being able to connect downtown from the airport is always going to be a plus. Public transit is an essential for any city, and Seattle did it right. If you don't have the Citymapper app, download it. You'll never look like a lost tourist in any city. With the information I needed on what stop to get off on, I was on my way. That is until the train got there. Until then, I was able to observe the platform. Plenty of space, especially at peak times when passengers are getting off of flights. Signage is aplenty. My biggest gripe with this is the frequency of trains. It felt like even though the schedule is on the board, they weren't directly following it. But back to the station. It is an easy station to use. Easy to navigate. Wide open spaces so you don't feel boxed in. Also, not bad views.

We arrived on Cascade #504 and departed on Cascades #507. After arriving (about one half hour…read morelate) we headed immediately to Freighthouse Square for lunch. After lunch we returned to the station to see a familiar looking train in station. We were informed that it was the same train we had arrived on, Cascade #504. It was there because Cascade #517 had killed a trespasser a few miles north of the station and it would be at least an hour before it could leave. The station attendant kept us informed as the situation evolved. Meantime, we talked to other waiting passengers and used the very clean restrooms. Finally, Cascade #504 departed. A few minutes later Cascade #517 arrived and most of the passengers in the station boarded the train. About 15 minutes later, Cascade #507 arrived on Track 2 forcing us to walk to the nearby intersection, cross the tracks, and walk back to the train. We departed Tacoma over an hour late. Overall we were satisfied with our experience at the Tacoma Dome Station. Footnote: the equipment used on both trains was badly in need of upgrades.

Well, it smelled like drugs when I was finally able to access the bathroom 20 minutes after I showed up. So how was this handled? The bus driver I told to wait had to call security because I kicked the bathroom stall to get the drud addict out. Lucky for me he didn't leave. And the security that came didn't hassle me for doing what I needed to to use the facilities. If you're looking into work with a commute and it involves this bus line. It's not worth the savings. Racists…read moresecurity guards and the bathrooms are very gross and I haven't used them but I never will either. My recommendation is to use the bathroom somewhere before you arrive there. Most of the patrons that use them bathrooms are the homeless and druggies to shoot up. They've got some security guards that do what their supposed to do and that is to walk the entire property daily during their shifts and some whom refused to talk and just stand around and talk to people and ignore others. I was there and have seen them and how they treat people. Other stations are much nicer then this one, also with nicer guards. If you can help it I'd try to catch the sounder at a different location.

I'm glad to see they're gearing up for the Sea-Tac Airport connection and World Cup 2026. I have friends and fam who are excited about the grand opening. The Southend expansion would definitely ease the current parking garage situation at Angle Lake. It gets filled up pretty quickly on game days, concerts, and special events happening in downtown Seattle and Seattle Center.
