I guess they dont want blacks in their gym. So, I saw an advertisement for the "Your Best Self" challenge and signed up. I'm the sign-up process, was advised that I needed to schedule an in-person interview. So, I scheduled the interview around 12:30 pm for 4:00 pm the same day (based on the appointment times being offered). I tell a coworker about it and he signed up too. So, we have two meetings set up for 4:00 pm. Around 2:00 pm, we both get a text message saying "we'll see you in two hours." We leave work at 2:30 from Marin and are excited. 30 minutes before the appointment time, we get emails saying the appointment is cancelled. I call at 3:42 pm and get voicemail (I left a message), but I also sent an email asking why the appointment was cancelled. At 8:39 pm, Amber finally responded and said it was cancelled because I didn't respond to her text message. So she cancelled it because if people don't respond, they typically won't show up. I explained that the text message didn't ask for a response, it simply said see you in two hours. It was a complete waste of my time...and she NEVER RESPONDED. Never apologized, NOTHING! As a business professional, that was THE LEAST she could do! Very rude. I guess they don't want blacks in their gym! I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I've never been really good at going to a gym. I'm intimidated and not sure I'm doing it right so I end up only using one or 2 machines then leaving and quitting. Interchange has changed my mind completely. The very first day I showed up I was welcomed and greeted by other members. The coaches take the time to show you the movements correctly, and the classes are already designed to get a full body workout, so I don't have worry about what to do. It offers so much more than just your typical classes! First off, the classes ARE awesome because they are all challenging physically and the instructors are top notch (knowledgeable, motivating, entertaining, helpful, certified etc). The gym is super close to my house so it's convenient for me and the classes are all scheduled at times where I can go before or after work, plus weekends. Besides classes, the gym is always creating fun events to participate in and attend such as a 6 week Boot Camp challenge, a neighborhood park work out, group fun runs, Breast Cancer Awareness workout and donation event, Wine & Yoga nights, school back pack drive and holiday parties and potlucks! After having 3 babies & 3 c-sections when I first started working out at this gym, I could hardly so a situp (I know, so embarassing). Now after being committed to workout at this gym, I can now say, that I am the strongest and most fit I've ever been. The instructors are super friendly, encouraging and so are the members. Everyone at this gym challenges each other to finish strong and is great at commending one another. I love my gym because....the workouts kick my ass yet I seem to always keep coming back for more. It's like a strange addiction. Heck, who can say an addiction to becoming a stronger and healthier mom is a bad thing though right?! Every person goes out of their way to support and motivate each other. Last one done? (Me a lot) everyone will cheer you on and do extra reps or run extra just to see you through it. Can't lift a gazillion pounds? The mantra is "Be you and do your best".
