I ordered custom Z-frame basswood shutters with 4.5" louvres that were all handmade & hand finished. After getting bids from the largest shutter dealers (Elizabeth, Danmer & Avalon), I finally decided to contact a local company. I'm thankful that I did bc not only are the Yelp reviews spot on, but the shutter quality and prices can't be beat. Jimmy was prepared to show me samples and answer the full spectrum of questions from build quality, installation technique & warranties. The shutters are 100% basswood with powder coated non-mortise hinges for a tight fit, rabbeted stiles between shutter panels, and thick paint that's smooth to the touch. It took 6-weeks from the day I ordered until installation & they were absolutely worth the wait.
