His illustrious ballet career spans decades, and it shows in his dance skill, talent and teaching style. As an adult student, I'm especially delighted to have found Kwak Ballet Academy where I felt welcomed, respected and valued. It is completely worth the 8+ hour round trip (we have done this one day trip many times). The Kwaks are top notch dancers and teachers who really know how to produce amazing results. My daughter usually takes a private lesson and then evening classes when we drive out. Mr. Kwak helped encourage my daughter after she had a horrible summer intensive experience at a top ballet school out of state. He truly believes in his students and wants to see them progress to the best of their abilities. My daughter has also taken their summer intensive. She grew exponentially in technique and confidence in two weeks. Their prices are extremely reasonable (maybe a bit low-- but don't tell them I said this ) especially for the quality received, and we just love them. Let me say that this is a serious ballet studio. In the world of ballet, if you don't get corrections, it means you aren't learning anything and that the teachers don't really care about your progression. The corrections Mr. Kwak gives my daughter are detailed, logical and gentle. Ms. Yoomi does tend to be very strict, but this is because she loves her students and cares that they learn. If anyone takes the time to get to know this couple, they will see how much they care for their students. If you want for you or your child to only have fun and be told everything is right, this is not the place for you. If you want to learn, grow and progress in this artform, this is an amazing place to do so.

They only care about getting money and not about the dancers themselves or the families supporting the dancers. Management is super burned out and unhappy and it shows. There is nothing like being yelled at and belittled by someone you pay $700 a month to! Many of the parents have complaints about the management here. There are so many great studios in Las Vegas. Do yourself a favor and don't step foot in here or near here. Not a very safe area. We couldn't be happier with our new studio. All the instructors are amazing, kind, and truly happy to be teaching.

From their passionate owners to their talented instructors, this multi-program facility will cater to your child's development no matter what path they choose in the arts. Mind you, adults and all skill levels are welcome. It's never too late or too much to Learn! Coach Theresa gave us a warm welcome even before we joined the program. She was helpful and thorough in explaining curriculum, pricing and requirements. She was never pushy but gave us the options and her enthusiastic nature was comforting and reassuring. My siblings and their kids are also in the program enjoying and having fun! The Las Vegas location is fairly new but well organized and very spacious with multiple rooms for designated programs. They even have a fun playroom/waiting room for the kids and adults with monitors to watch your kids learn the arts in real time. They even have massage chairs! Would highly recommend if you are looking for music lessons. We definitely will be back for more for our son's enrichment in the arts!

We weren't comfortable going in the studio just yet, but we still wanted her to get that training in. Luckily I found CSLV and was instantly drawn to them because: 1. They offered zoom classes, no pressure to go in studio 2. Their fees were so affordable - SO AFFORDABLE The hiphop class that she took via zoom was perfect. She enjoyed it so much! I loved how the instructor always checked in with those on zoom vs just focusing on those in class. Once we were ready to go back in studio, we were welcomed with open arms. I can see that baby girl has improved tremendously in her dancing skills. She is more aware of her counts which is a huge. She's been dancing Ori Tahiti since she was 3 and she usually rushes thru the choreo. But now she takes her time and is a lot more aware of her counts and moves. Huge thank you to her instructors at CSLV for helping her with that and just helping her be a better well rounded dancer. In the short amount of time we've been with them, baby girl has already done a video shoot, they're working on their next video shoot now, and hopefully will be performing live the end of the year (assuming things start opening up). That is a lot more than what she did at her previous dance studio and she was dancing there for almost the same amount of time. So if you are looking for a studio to get your kids to dance with, I highly recommend Culture Shock. The instructors are great and always willing to accommodate, if they can make it work. They're a non profit organization, so they're not out here trying to get all your money. They are definitely working for the kids and I love that. I mean, I live all the way in the northwest part of town and we drive down to them weekly. Love that we're part of the CS family!

I've always used what I've learned from their classes to two-step at Stoney's and Gilley's here in Las Vegas. However, at least half the time I've ever asked a girl to two-step, they don't know how, and I have to teach them on the spot. So, I've always wondered why these folks don't come to the two-step classes held every Tuesday at Rhythmic Souls. There was always this discrepancy wherein most of the people two-stepping at Stoney's and Gilley's were not in the Tuesday two-step classes. Fast-forward to today, and it's no wonder that two-step has been almost entirely abandoned at Stoney's Rockin' Country, and completely abandoned at Stoney's North Forty. I never understood why Stoney's and Gilley's never referred people to Rhythmic Souls to learn two-step. Now, all you can hope is that the current craze for country swing will run its course, so that two-step can return as the next big thing. When two-stepping at Stoney's or Gilley's, it's easy to teach a girl on the spot upon asking her to dance. This is why it's such a great social dance. It just requires the lead to know how to two-step, to guide the follower, whether she already knows how to two-step or not. I don't think this is the case with country swing. For the beginner, I think country swing is more dependent on lessons than two-step is--contrary to popular opinion. If it was up to me, Stoney's and Gilley's would have a list of local places to take two-step and country swing dance lessons. They should have been doing this from day one, then maybe we wouldn't see the near extinction of two-step at Stoney's and Gilley's today, in which country swing has filled the void. It seems like it would be mutually beneficial for the local honky-tonks to provide a list of local businesses that specialize exclusively in country dance instruction. Likewise, for the local country dance instructors to provide a list of the local honky-tonks where students can take what they learn in class and use it in the wild. Since this has yet to happen, Gen Z country swing now rules the local honky-tonks.

If you're thinking of taking up dance, I don't think you'll find a better studio in all of Vegas. Long Review: Where to start?? First off, I love love love Rhythmic Souls. From the first time I walked in, I felt such good vibes. Donnie and Regina are so nice and all the regulars at the studio are great about welcoming new people. I was insanely nervous and any negativity would have sent me running, but everyone was so incredibly nice that I kept coming back and now I'm a W/F West Coast regular. :) While I focus on West Coast they have a ton of other dances you can learn. I feel like the prices are very reasonable and the more you go, the better the deals are which is perfect for when you inevitably fall in love with the dance and decide to practically live there ;) Along with lessons, there are weekly trips to Stoney's, dance camps, insanely fun trips to dance events, potlucks, birthday celebrations, theme nights, etc. etc. To me, it feels more like a family than a dance studio and I am so glad I decided to take those first lessons. All I can say is if you're looking for a great, fun, positive environment to learn to dance, you can't go wrong with Rhythmic Souls, and if you're there on a West Coast night, come say Hi :)

Kai was cool, encouraging, and made it clear that what we practiced could be carried into more advanced classes down the line. The class was held in the smaller of the two studios since another class was running in the larger room, but the facility overall is nice and well set up. The vibe was welcoming, and as a beginner, I appreciated the approachable pace and emphasis on basics. Definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to start hip hop in a supportive environment without feeling overwhelmed!

I've always been hesitant to stick with a hip hop class consistently due to my beginner background, but their energy and guidance make it totally worth the 30-minute drive every Saturday afternoon. They really take the time to make sure everyone is comfortable with the choreography before moving on, which is so helpful, especially for someone like me who's still building confidence. Athena, in particular, brings a whole new layer to the experience by also teaching the history and roots of hip hop--it's clear she's passionate about the craft and culture. One star deducted is that the space is a bit cramped, but luckily, the class sizes are small enough that it doesn't feel overcrowded. It actually makes for a more personal and focused experience.
