Misrepresentation, Hidden Damage, and we are out $30,000…read more
Our experience with ArrKann Trailer & RV Center Rocky View has been nothing short of disastrous.
We purchased a used motorhome from Eva Moser (Internet Sales Manager) and Brock Simmons (General Sales Manager) in May 2024 after being assured it was "like brand new," fully inspected, and in excellent condition. Those statements were blatantly untrue. In fact, Brock Simmons refused to provide items promised at the time of sale until we escalated the issue to their head office.
After driving 800 km to pick up the unit, we immediately found multiple problems -- and even more surfaced within the first 24 hours of taking possession. These included a torn mattress, missing parts, cracked tires, electrical failures, a leaking hot water tank, Tv that did not work, backup camera that would come on and off even though there was no key in vehicle and a large stain above the driver's seat that staff dismissed as "soap residue."
This stain was later proven to be long-term, undisclosed water damage -- damage that ArrKann Trailer & RV Center Rocky View should have known about, and that CanaDream Inc., the actual owner at the time, had already documented.
None of this was disclosed during the sale.
While we were filling the water tank prior to leaving the lot, when we saw the rear tires in the light of day. They were cracked all around the tire side walls and deep into the tread of the tires, initial response was how did those get missed by our inspection and also by CanaDream Inc. as they are an Alberta licensed Government inspection facilities.
We have the records of that inspection with the inspectors name and license number. showing all the tires were good?
So either the licensed facility is lying on inspections or someone changed out good tires for bad ones between CanaDream Inc and ArrKAnn Rv in Calgary? We were never given an answer just a story and reluctance to replace them!
What followed was months of runaround between ArrKann Trailer & Sport Center in Edmonton and CanaDream Inc. in Delta, BC. We were forced to make repeated 860 km trips for repairs at our own expense, only to have those repairs delayed, mishandled, or ignored. While the motorhome sat unusable for months, water began leaking into the front cab -- the exact area we flagged on day one and were falsely told by Eva Moser and Riley, the technician who handled our walkthrough, that the unit had "no leaks or previous damage."
Later documentation provided by Chris Caldwell of ArrKann RV, confirmed prior roof problems and roof work in all the same locations where the damage appeared.
To make things worse, ICBC couldn't even transfer the registration because the motorhome was still registered to CanaDream Inc., not ArrKann. They sold us a vehicle they had not properly transferred or legally registered.
The repairs eventually completed by CanaDream were not up to industry standard, and none were documented. We were denied any copies of repair records, as CanaDream and ArrKann claimed everything was an internal agreement between Jason Granger (Sales Manager, CanaDream Inc.) and Chris Caldwell (VP Customer Experience & Marketing, ArrKann Trailer & Sport Center).
We were then asked to sign a release waiving any future claims on the unit. We refused -- their urgency to secure our signature said everything.
In early 2025, when we attempted to trade the motorhome in, the receiving dealer uncovered major structural roof damage, hidden repairs, and long-term water intrusion that both ArrKann and CanaDream failed to disclose. As a direct result, we suffered losses exceeding $30,000.
When we approached Chris Caldwell for compensation or accountability, we were refused. We were told the RV was used and had "no warranty," despite months of false assurances, misrepresentation, and repeated promises that ArrKann would "make it right."
If you are considering buying from ArrKann Trailer & Sport Center, proceed with extreme caution. Our experience has been financially devastating, stressful, and deeply disappointing. It appears that used RVs sourced from CanaDream are being flipped quickly with minimal inspection, poor transparency, and broken promises.
We trusted their claim of being a "family-owned, award-winning RV dealership." Unfortunately, our experience suggests otherwise.
Their advertising around repairs and winterizing now feels like the old story of a fox guarding the henhouse.
We are now pursuing legal options to recover some of our losses.
