MH Handyman was one of three estimates we received and theirs was substantially lower than the other two. Plus Mike's vision for adding the shower made a lot more sense than the other two companies. Because the bedroom is relatively small, the other companies wanted to convert the only closet in the room into a shower. Mike found a way to add the shower and keep the closet!!! This was perfect since we wanted to eventually rent the room out and a closet is a must have. Most contractors go over budget and take longer than the estimate, but Not MH Handyman! They completed the work in the exact time they said they would and charged us the exact amount estimated. As a matter of fact, they fixed a few other minor things not originally in the estimate. Mike came over each day to review the work and progress of his team each day. Rather than having one person doing everything, he sent a specialist for each aspect of the project: plumber, painter, grout and tile work and so on. However, Mike himself was the master planner and designer. It's now 3 months after they completed the work and the shower and everything is working great and we have enjoyed the beautiful renovations of the bathroom. I hired this company through a referral from BJ's Wholesale Club, expecting professional installation. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The technician arrived and spent 4 hours mounting my TV. Less than 10 minutes after he left, the TV fell completely out of the wall. After I contacted the company, the technician returned with his father and reinstalled it. That should have been the first red flag. The TV was installed in September 2025. In April 2026, the TV fell out of the wall again -- this time causing serious damage: * Destroyed my TV * Damaged my wall / sheetrock * Left me with additional repair costs I contacted FixTman LLC again, and their response was that they would do nothing because it had been more than 30 days. To make matters worse, Thumbtack Quality Assurance also stepped in and tried to help resolve the issue on my behalf. They contacted FixTman LLC directly, only to be told the exact same thing -- that I only had 30 days and they would not take responsibility. Let that sink in. A properly mounted TV should not fall out of a wall -- not once, and definitely not twice. This was not normal wear and tear. This was poor workmanship, improper installation, and a complete lack of accountability. In over 40 years, I have never seen anything like this. Please do your research before hiring this company.
