Five Stars -- Matt is the real deal…read more We hired Matt for a major home remodel that included painting walls and cabinets, replacing flooring throughout half the house, foundation repair, garage epoxy, and replacing doors and windows -- and he knocked every single one of them out of the park. What stood out most wasn't just the quality of the work -- it was how he handled the entire process. Matt communicated consistently from start to finish, checked in regularly with updates, and never left us guessing about where things stood. When we needed to change direction on design decisions mid-project, he was patient and flexible without making us feel like an inconvenience. He also put real thought into the order and flow of the work, knowing that we were living in the house the entire time -- that kind of consideration isn't something you take for granted. When small things came up after the project was finished, Matt didn't hesitate to come back and make it right. No pushback, no excuses -- he simply stood behind his work, and that says everything about his character. We'd hire him again without a second thought, and would recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor who is skilled, communicative, and genuinely easy to work with. Oh -- and our dog, who is not easily won over, grew to look forward to Matt's visits every day. When the project wrapped up, he actually missed him. If that's not the highest endorsement we can give, we don't know what is.

Could not ask for more!

I don't normally pay attention to FB ads but theirs was well written so I started researching them and decided to get a quote. I called them Wednesday, they came out Thursday to do inspection and give an estimate. I reviewed the estimate, they answered every question I had and compared their proposal to others I received and was impressed and signed the agreement. They came out this morning and walked me through the process then got to work. Daniel(owner) was onsite and explained where they were at throughout multiple phases. Impressed with the honesty, integrity and work ethic of VFR. They finished this afternoon; cleaned the worksite to as much as normal can be done on a job like this. Would definitely recommend that anyone that's needs foundation repair work done, get a quote from them, you'll be surprised when comparing theirs vs the other Big Name companies out there. I wish I found them sooner. Will definitely recommend to friends / family.

Giovanni is amazing! I found out about his company randomly after searching for quotes and his…read morecompany was one of the ones my quotes automatically sent to. Giovanni was responsive, reliable, honest and fair. He was very transparent about his pricing. He came on-site to give me an estimate and started working on some of the smaller handyman jobs such as adding my cabinet and drawer handle pulls, swapping out my master bathroom shower head for a shower head with a wand. He also hung four paintings/artwork for me. He even repaired one of my drawers that were installed incorrectly. I didn't even know it but it was greatly appreciated. I plan to get more work done under him. Awaiting his quote for the bigger jobs such as living room TV wall, adding stone ledgers in my master bathroom windows, recessed lighting, landscaping and a paint job. He cleaned up after he was done and he even apologized for not having his own handheld vacuum cleaner to get a precise cleaning job after his work was completed. Can't wait to work with him again and see what he comes up with for designing my living room TV wall and master bathroom. He has stellar reviews on Google which was what made me book him. He just expanded his business marketing to include Yelp which is why there are a lack of reviews here. But his work is quality and legit.

I experienced a broken water line in my kitchen sink that resulted in damage. I quickly shut off my…read morewater valves, cut out all of the dry wall and let the fan run overnight. Unsure of who to call and how long it would take, I went on Yelp and Giovanni responded to my inquiry. After careful research, I decided to give him a try and he showed up the same day. He diagnosed the issue, determined the supply line that needed replacement and went straight to work. He cleaned the interior to ensure no mold would form, removed the wet drywall that I missed, replaced it, and painted & finished. By the end of the evening, my wall was as good as new. I also researched pricing with my co-workers beforehand (who were in the construction industry and certified in Xactimate) and he was right within the ballpark on pricing for labor and material. I would definitely call him again for any handiwork needed as I felt comfortable from beginning to end.

One day in the fall of 2020, while walking across our porch, my husband's foot punched through a…read morespot of rotted wood. We promptly decided it was time to have it replaced...better than ever before! We got a couple bids for the job. But Charles really stood out because: 1. After walking the job, he promptly sent a detailed bid and CAD drawing. We refined the scope several times and every time he would promptly refine the quote and redo the CAD drawing. Very good follow through. Not pushy, just responsive. 2. He had a large book of color photographs of his work that helped us choose finishes and make design decisions. He has done a TON of patios and pergolas in different styles. I love this book because there are a lot of decisions to make -- it's easier to point to the picture you like more vs. having to imagine if you want feature A or B. In terms of price, Charles was in the middle -- not the highest bid and not the lowest. But we got the best feeling from him, and that's what is important to me. We redid our kitchen two years ago and our general contractor (not Charles, obviously), fled the country in the middle of the job after a progress payment! Yikes, bad memories. I am very happy with how my patio and pergola turned out; we seriously live outside now. We have a plexiglass cover (to protect from rain) and fans (to help somewhat with the Texas heat). Charles and his crew were great overall. Pluses: - They only do outdoor patios and pergolas. This is what they are good at and they are fast. - Charles was here a lot, especially at first to get the job started. He didn't just oversee progress, he was out there working and sweating with his men. - Charles helped to perfect the design while the job was in progress. He had his wife paint several different colors of grey stain onto sample boards so we could choose the right one. We spent a few hours perfecting the brick pattern on the columns. He wanted us to be happy with the final outcome. - Flexible with changes with very few change orders. I must have added 10 electrical outlets...didn't get a bill for it. So unusual for a GC. - Open to feedback when we felt like something wasn't perfect. Because they were outside my kitchen window, I would do dishes and watch progress unfold. And let him know when I didn't like something. Absolutely never got push back from him. He would call his crew or come by and fix it immediately. - Follow through has been great. Even after we were all paid up, he sent over a crew a couple times because rain was getting through my plexiglass cover. Again, so unusual for a GC. Minuses: - I wish they would broaden their scope from just outdoor patios and pergolas to other things. I have a bathroom I would love for them to remodel. Ah well. Anyway, check out the pictures. One of the prettiest patios and pergolas I have ever seen, and I'm lucky enough to have it in my backyard.

I have been working with Miel Construction for a little over the past year. After a great…read moreexperience renovating my home's master bathroom, I've had them back to handle a home office renovation as well as a powder room renovation thus far. To share a few thoughts: - My home has an odd layout, mixing open-concept with split-level, so rooms do not begin and end in conventional places. This leads to odd requests on projects (e.g. "paint half of this wall"). Miel has been extremely understanding of the house, which has helped me tackle projects in a way that works with my budget. - Texts during the week always have very timely responses, and work is stood behind in the event of a small goof here and there. - As someone who enjoys DIY projects and is very invested in the materials and design choices I make, Miel has been extremely accomodating to develop quotes where I provide various materials (door hardware, marble, etc.). That allows me to get exactly the look I want, without needing to be my own contactor. Five stars does not suggest that there has never been any mistakes ever. Small things are bound to happen here and there, just as I'm sure they would with any contractor. I do think I have a five star partnership with Miel, and when issues arise, I can count on them to be resolved in a reasonable manner. I look forward to more future projects with Miel.
