I was a tenant for 3 years. Although the staff was professional and attentive to your needs, IOS made it extremely painful to leave. This is a nickel and dime operation and when they know they have you under contract, they will take full advantage of it via hidden fees and no transparency.
1. They have a 3 line paragraph hidden within a 6 or 7 page lease that states you have to let them know you are leaving, or the lease will automatically renew. I was supposed to notify them 60 days beforehand, I notified them 45 days beforehand and they agreed, but kept my security deposit. Like I was going to get that back anyway.
2. They billed me $600 to have my phone number and mail forwarded, subject to a signed contract. Something they presented to me the day before my scheduled move out. By the time my attorneys would even read this contract, I wouldn't even need the number forwarded anymore. One would think this would be a courtesy (as it was anywhere else I rented), especially after paying them tens of thousands of dollars of rent over the years. They even wanted to charge us for postage! Nickel and dime
3. After the move out, they charged me $735 for "paint, patch and repair." This was a 100sq foot, single person office with maybe 6 nail holes in the wall to "repair." I calculated it was like $350 an hour to paint an office the size of a walk in closet.
So the previous reviewer loves them now, but wait until you have to move out and they charge you to "paint, patch and repair" your office, which is surprisingly going to cost the same amount as your security deposit. read more
