All of the people from this agency that I had dealings with from the social worker, to the chaplain, to the nurse or aids, were all so caring and compassionate. I cared for my mother for 3-1/2 years all while battling cancer myself. For most of that time it was very stressful trying to care for us both while holding down a full-time job. If I wasn't taking her to an appointment, I was going to appointments of my own. I was referred to Hospice Community Care by my mother's primary care physician's office. My reaching out to them was the best thing I ever did. They took an immense amount of pressure and stress off of me. I immediately felt comfortable with them and had such trust in them. My mother passed on January 31st and since then they've checked in on me multiple times just to see how I'm doing. I would absolutely recommend them without hesitation.

Do not hire, do not even consider. It made our father's passing process a nightmare.

I felt well cared for, as I needed to stay over with him, and each new nurse on duty really checked to make sure my friend's needs were being met. I met with two doctors, and they obviously cared, as they made variations in my friend's treatment, and spent time discussing with me. All of the staff was friendly. My friend had a cheerful room with lots of natural light. This was end of life care, and it was done with compassion, honesty and experience. I sensed that one nurse in particular really cared for my friend, and that was an added bonus. I also like that this facility allows visitors 24 hours a day which adds to the safety of each patient.

We have never needed a hospice before. We asked some friends - nothing. So I googled it. They…read moresounded nice so we signed them up. Then we found out this IS NOT a 24 hour hospice. It's a hospice that you call & get a nurse out within 3 hour. They say they can provide constant care if needed but came up with an excuse for not being able to do it multiple times. They send out a nurse once a day & an aide for an hour. The night my Dad passed the nurse specifically called in that morning asking for constant care & put it in her report. He was choking on his own mucus & it them over an hour & half to get there. The reason for the 2nd star is for Mary & Ruby. Both nurses were understanding, efficient & explained to us very clearly what to look for. Lorraine was our aide & she was so caring & gentle. The office is so unorganized that they didn't even notify Lorraine that she wasn't needed the next day after he passed.

We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. They released our loved one from hospice care just days before she passed. unfortunately, they do not have experience with stroke patients. They offered no condolences or acknowledgment of our loss despite months of having our loved one in their care.

The continuous care nurse spent extended periods on her phone while wearing earbuds and failed to recognize that our aunt had died; the chaplain who entered the room was the one who noticed and asked the nurse to check her. Even more distressing, our family first learned of her death through a text message of condolence from the care home rather than from hospice staff. This level of inattention and lack of communication during a patient's final moments is unacceptable and represents a profound failure of basic hospice care.
