Earlier this week I was referred to the Institute for Vascular testing by my physician due to her concerns of a possible blood clot in my left leg. As my mother had died several years earlier from this exact thing, I was obviously very scared about a similar situation so I immediately took her advice and called IVT for an appointment.
In that I was very concerned and wanted to be seen immediately, I was extremely happy that IVT was able to fit me in right away. I literally drove to their office in Campbell directly from my doctors office. When I arrived I was met by Debbie Hoover, the lab director, who greeted me with a smile and a very warm handshake. Needless to say I was terrified by what my doctor had told me and Debbie made me feel very welcome under these circumstances. Not knowing what to expect, Debbie took me into the lab and very patiently explained everything she would do to perform the tests. Once she had completed the exams, my doctor was immediately notified of the results after which I was able to take the appropriate next steps.
Debbie did an incredible job. While she performed her scan I asked her how long she had been doing this work and she told me that she had been a registered vascular technologist for 24 years. She also shared with me that she had been the technical director of Good Samaritan's Vascular lab for the previous 12 years before starting her own lab.
Everything about my experience at IVT exceeded my expectations. Debbie runs an incredible lab, with state of the art technology and an extremely professional staff. She has been at this game a long time and it shows in everything she does. I appreciated the staff's ability to schedule me immediately and the fact that I didn't have to go to a hospital nor through the difficulty of a hospital's admissions process. I was in and out very quickly, the scan was done right the first time and I was able to begin the appropriate treatment immediately.
Thank you Debbie. read more
