My mom has been seeing Dr. George Yeh for decades. His office is on Winchester near Steven Creek Blvd. They have a small parking lot and there is street parking if needed. The waiting room is adequate. The two office workers are helpful and nice. One remembers my mom fondly. This one star rating was for the front desk receptionist (Not Ann. Ann was the best professional, super nice receptionist). This one star review was for the small woman receptionist who should have been serving in this office for over or around 10 years. She was too rude, too inpatient, and very unprofessional to be qualified for serving in Dr office. We believed not only one patient had such bad experience with that receptionist: When patient who just visited the dr office two weeks ago called in requesting to talk to the junior Dr Yeh for the Dr failed to call the patient as scheduled to review the recent lab report with the patient and prescribed necessary medication before the patient's medication running out. This receptionist showed very unprofessional, very inpatient and very rude when answering the patient call. She not only refused to bridge the patient to the dr but also complained to the patient and requested the patient to stop calling in (if the problem had been resolved who would have interest to waste time to call in?). She even claimed that the dr would not prescribe any medication no matter how before she had managed to reach out to the dr and passed a full picture of the patient situation to the dr. When the patient shew understanding that the dr was busy at the time being and asked if she could let the dr returned call in a later time. She categorically shouted "NO! dr is busy he won't call you back". Did the dr office ever trained the receptionist that in such circumstance as a receptionist should take down the patient contact information and let the dr made a decision? The doctors in this office should periodically read the patient's review and take action to make improvements no matter the receptionist is related to the family or not. A qualified great front desk receptionist like Ann could definitely help the business. read more

Dr Yeh is good and kind, but front desk ladies are super super bad in this place, rude and unprofessional! They cannot get the easy things done, such like sending the prescription! If you can, chose another place, because it it's hard to communicate to Dr Yeh directly with those receptionists. AVOID, save your time! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. George Yeh for 20+ years. Dr. Yeh is very knowledgeable and he cares about his patients. The ladies at the front desk are alright in my opinion. I can sense that they are very serious (may be a bit stress) to do everything right. I always try to be there early to avoid the crowds and don't really need to wait long hours. I am sure once it gets into later time of the day things get busier there and of course it makes sense because Yeh's are good doctors and many wants their help. We see Dr James Yeh. The doctor remains to be very good. The only problem is his staff. The front desk nurses are so rude!! I don't know why they are so short on the phone and really never listens to what you want/ need to say. If these nurses can be more caring, have patience and take their time, that would be better. Dr. Yeh's been our family doctor for YEARS... my parents have been seeing him ever since we moved into the San Jose area 20 years ago. He's been my doctor since my pediatrician kicked me out... yes... i was a 13 year old still seeing a pediatrician. He gently reminded me that I was starting to tower over his infant patients.... Love the doctor. Hate the front desk staff. George Yeh is really great. He's seen my parents for many years and I've also seen him as well. Very understanding and knowledgeable. However his front desk staff is highly incompetent--they can process paperwork, sure, but they do not understand basic customer service principles. I came in on time and they let other customers with later appointments be processed before me, simply because I was looking up my insurance information. That caused me to have to wait an additional 45 minutes, and reschedules other doctors appointment to the following day. Get rid of the front desk staff and replace them with people with basic understanding of customer support and empathy. In a short summary: You cannot find a better family doctor anywhere. Honestly, I don't know what I'm going to do after he retires. What makes him good? Because he cares about his paitents. One time he and his wife was suppose to go on vacation, he delayed his vacation for me. I have been seeing him for over 10 years. I can recall many times he will have me come in on Sat or after hours just to see me. Also, he does not seem to care about money at all. Many times when I come in after hours or on Sat when he has no assistance, he does even bother with the insurance paperwork or co-payment. I have been coming here since i passed the age limit at my pediatrician. My parents-- even longer than that. To have an experience is truly disappointing. The front desk assistant is super rude! And they don't respect customer time at all! They ask all customers to pay if they have to reschedule. Knowing that they're busy I made extra sure I arrived 5-10minuted early just to hear that they're currently behind schedule. It's understandable for offices to run behind schedule but the way the office lady told the customers was extremely rude! She just nonchalantly said "we're behind schedule." You have to run on our schedule. if you can't wait for us then you will have to go somewhere else" I rephrased this, because the assistant sucks at english and she used mandarin/broken english to communicate these things. The office illegally asked me to pay an extra fee (not in compliance with the insurance policy). When I called the insurance provider to find out, they got pissed off and left me a voice message saying "Dr. Yeh wants to avoid the trouble so we can no longer provide any service to you". After many years of seeing him, Dr George Yeh and his crews are beyond professional! I am not sure about some low reviews but Dr George Yeh himself, his son, and his office crews (probably relatives) were doing their best to take a good care of me. Just most recent, I was first referred to a surgeon for inguinal hernia, I went to there but things went south because the surgeon's wife was keep messing things up. I then contacted SCCIPA and get things worked out, and then SCCIPA gave me a list of surgeons, and after confirming with surgeon offices, I called Dr. George Yeh's office to schedule appointment in order to get another referral, I think that was George's wife who helped me, gotten referral within minutes, and within 15 minutes from contacting surgeon office, I got things sorted out, and now I made an appointment with the surgeon in just few minutes, thanks to Dr George Yeh's family for this!!!! About Dr George Yeh and Dr James Yeh, I wanna tell them I didn't go see them for over 3 years because I am needle phobia LOL coz I need to do blood test quite often due to iron overload! Dr. George Yeh is a great, great doctor. My parents had been seeing him for years when I began to see him as well, and he is always wonderful. He listens to everything you have to say, and is very thorough. He also is very knowledgeable and experienced, and as mentioned in previous posts, he comes from a hematologist background. He actually was the first to notice an anomaly in my mother's blood workup and suggested she see an oncologist. Without his keen eye, her underlying condition that eventually led to leukemia would have gone undiagnosed. Recently I have been seeing his son, Dr. James Yeh, more often than Dr. George Yeh (I think patients who have been with Dr. George Yeh longer tend to request him out of habit), but I enjoy seeing Dr. James Yeh as well. He is just as thorough as his father and really goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and cared for. He has called me back concerning lab results and tests, and never makes me feel rushed. He always wants to make sure we cover everything I need to before I go. Like his father, he is also very conscious about insurance and potential costs, and never wants to run up unnecessary charges. They both are very good about making sure you have generic prescription options if available. The office staff is very efficient as well, and I have not had any problems with them. They do work very hard to squeeze you in if it is an emergency. It is often very busy so its worth it to try and make appointments well ahead of time if you can - but again, when it is urgent, they do their best to squeeze you in even if you have to wait. A professional, knowledgeable, and efficient office staff really can do wonders for a doctor's practice, and can make or break a visit in my opinion. Both Dr. George and Dr. James Yeh are exceptional physicians. They truly care and always go out of their way to help, especially in emergencies. I highly recommend them both. read more

Was looking for a new PCP, so I decided to call the office 5 times in two days. First three time it went straight to voicemail; 10:30 am, 12:00 noon and 1:45 pm. I noticed the voice message says that they are close between 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for lunch, not sure why they choose to not pick up the phone. Finally got a hold of someone and they put me on hold for 10 mins. Okay, I decided to hang up and call back later. I finally got a hold of the front desk lady. I asked are you accepting new patients. Dr. Yeh has been wonderful to me and my family! We've been going to see him for over ten years and I've moved a lot since then, but Dr. Yeh has remained my favorite doctor. This doctor is one-note - probably too young and treats all patients as if they are the same age, with the same problems and background... There are a LOT of treatments out there and some don't work for everyone at every age. This Doc seems to think he knows it all and doesn't really listen or CARE about the specific and unique needs of each individual patient . In my opinion that is not a good quality I want in a doctor. Not only that, he does not get back to me and I have to deal with the receptionist who simply provides a "standard" response to every question. Don't bother asking her anything. My parents have been going to Dr. Yeh for a very long time. I also see him as my family doctor. He is great. He always will take me in if I have a problem. I hate having my blood drawn for tests because they keep saying I have small veins and they can never get it. Dr. Yeh always gets my vein on the first try. He can't see it, he says he can feel it. You would better to avoid see this doctor, the receptionist is horrible, my wife was sick, need see this doctor, we were told due the the reason that she hasn't visit for a long while, they has to treat her as a new patient by setup an appointment long time away, event though she is currently sick. They told us this is their policy they have to follow, event though our family stay with this doctor for a very long time. They don't care about current sickness she has, policy is policy, and they won't care about internet review as well, because they are just too busy to see a new patient, and if we are not happy with this policy, ok to find other *better* doctors. It is really hard to believe this is what she said to us as a doctor office reception. We are done with this office, our family will find better doctor for sure. The MDs are competent & caring (especially the father, George), however the office ladies are simply rude- if not for them, I would have given at least 4 stars for the doctoring services provided. I work in health services myself and understand that it is difficult serving all patients especially when it's high volume, but it is no excuse for shutting down a patient when she had been waiting patiently and simply wanted to confirm whether it was necessary to check in because not a single receptionist had bothered to greet her. Part of the experience when visiting a doctor definitely includes the wait time before seeing the doctor, and my experience was absolutely terrible (the check in at least) Regardless of how great a doctor is, patient relationships need to be positive throughout the visit. The office ladies, specifically the younger one, needs to work on her bedside manner.
