A long overdue review: Knowing Dr. Botros was a Gift, I felt that for over 18 years of visiting her & never took that for granted. The appreciation grew stronger over the years as I dealt with various medical matters she was part of. No matter the ailment or issue, after a visit with her I was always left feeling relieved I would be ok. Dr. B had a casual yet confident way of saying "come on man, you are strong, it's nothing". Then she would describe whatever I was feeling to be catastrophic only to be something minor or something easily fixable with one of her prescriptions. I still can't believe she is gone & I have not yet found a new primary physician to replace her. She would always fit me in same day or next day & greet me with enthusiasm. Getting to the office was simple and there was enough signage to figure out where to go. Inside was neat and organized and the lighting wasn't too harsh. The person at the desk helped me check in without too much trouble. I waited for a little while but not long enough to feel bothered. When I was taken back, the person helping with the prep was kind and asked clear questions about my history and recent issues. They took the time to explain what they were doing and how long things would take. The doctor came in and had a thoughtful approach. They took time to ask about what I've been going through and showed interest in more than just one issue. They connected a few things together and explained what might be worth monitoring. I didn't feel talked down to and the conversation had a natural flow. They also made sure I had space to speak and ask about things I wasn't sure of. The Dr/patient relationship was something rare . She would always fit me in the same day if needed and would always spend the time to listen to my concerns. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Don't bother visiting this doctor. The doctor listed absolutely inaccurate health history and concerns on my file. The receptionist simply put was extremely rude. She filed the claim with incorrect code and did not bother correcting it. I was skeptical of visiting initially due to bad reviews about receptionist but am certain now not to recommend them to anyone. read more

Without a doubt one of the finest MDs I've ever had. She treats me like an intelligent being and goes over details in blood tests etc to confirm where I am in the range of acceptable results. Last year we moved to San Jose and switched our doctor, we got our annual check up and insurance send us a bill !!!!!! We never paid for annual physical exam before, when we called the doctor the reception said we never guarantee your insurance will cover our claim and she said that is the way they office works for new patients. The first visit should be pay by patients and the second one will be physical!!so without letting you know they send the different code to insurance to get more money!!! Never will back there again. I was referred to Dr. Botros from a close friend. I can honestly say, she is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. She is the most patient doctor I have ever had. She answers all of my questions & doesn't rush me through my appointment. Jennifer (at the front desk) also squeezes me in on busy days if I'm very sick & need to be seen. The doctor I saw previously, I had been going to for 5+ years & NEVER did they squeeze a long time patient in. I had to wait & wait even if I was extremely ill. Not so with Dr. Botros. She's fabulous & if I go in for something that needs further exploration by a specialist, she's quick to refer me. She doesn't BS me by claiming she knows exactly what's going on if it's something more specialized like nerve problems or dermatology for example. Dr. Botros was so thorough and explained everything in a way I could understand. When she filled out the paperwork for testing that I needed, she explained each one to me. She has a warm and friendly bedside manner that I appreciate and her office assistant has been nothing, but helpful to me so I'm sure why people say she's rude. Doctor Botros is the only doctor I really trust. She is very thorough and provides me practical advise. She listens with intent and always provides me solid answers. She also has saved my life. She found out I was in the ER at the hospital across the street. She came right away to see me. This has happened twice. The first time the ER were ready to send me home. The receptionist here is unbelievably rude. I called to make an appt (new patient) and she sounded like she DID NOT want to even schedule me! I don't know how else to describe it - this lady was just blatant, in-your-face nasty and rude....for absolutely no reason at all! I had some serious concerns and I was in pain. . My Plan Dr. could not see me til the 20th....huh not good .Dr. B was my previous Doctor. Dr Botros is incredibly thorough and always explains everything. I have had no problem getting in for an appointment on the same day and usually wait no more than 5-10 minutes tops. The receptionist is really rude. She is incompetent, and makes a lot of mistakes. For example, she confuses the appointment schedules, the insurance and people's names. Also she doesn't let you talk with the doctor and doesn't give appointments to people if she doesn't feel like it. She insults people in the office in front of other patients. I have had Dr. Botros as a Primary Care doc for a couple years now, and she has been the best PCP I've ever had. I've seen her with mostly run-of-the-mill stuff, including mental health issues. She listens and takes action. She orders appropriate tests and prescribes appropriate medication. She seems to be generous with testing and prescribing, which matches my personality and desire. If you can't sleep, she will suggest a medication for sleep, for example. If you want a doctor that will suggest yoga, meditation, or therapy, maybe she's not for you (by the way, I'd like a doctor that suggested all approaches, by the way, hence not a 5-star rating). But she will monitor you carefully and not dismiss concerns and not miss things, and in my opinion, and that's better than I've had as a PCP really ever before. Give her a try, I really think you'll be impressed. The negative review here does concern me. I haven't tried to contact the office outside office hours or with true emergencies. I have been seen same-day on a couple occasions though. And really the test of a good doctor is how they handle emergencies or complicated cases. read more
