A very nice, professional day spa on Roswell Road that is in a small shopping center. It can be a bit hard to find via GPS, but worth the search. I made an appointment on their website a few days ahead and stopped in after work. They were able to accommodate my request for a 4:30pm appointment. Karen did a great job with my facial. I actually fell asleep during it. They use very good equipment and gentle cleansers/scrubs. My skin didn't have any negative reactions to the treatment. read more

Parking is good. But beware - they do share it with a lot of different shops. Might be tough to find a spot during peak times. My BF gets his skincare things here probably once every 6 months. He's slowly been getting into it since he doesn't like dry skin. I personally use a special face soap but he prefers to get his here. I think he's tried several types of skincare, but says this place is the best. The folks up front are very nice and polite. Very dissatisfied with the level of customer service. I purchased a Groupon which expired. The groupon terms and conditions states that although the promotion expires the amount you paid remains of the same value. It's clear on the fine print and I have the email that Groupon sent confirming this. Well the Manager of Institute Dermed told me she will only honor $60 not the $99 that I paid. This is not only false advertising this is ilegal and it's called theft/fraud. I have been to this location and I have recommend friends before and I am very disappointed at the poor level or service. read more

Worst spa experience of my life! What did they use on my skin? I have done facial procedures for 10 years and have never had such a reaction! Do Not go there because they will say that it's not their fault if anything goes wrong. I got money refunded for microneedling procedure but their manager Jessica did not even apologize. I went there right after my appointment with a dermatologist who said that this was caused by whatever cream they used and it will take 7-10 days to go away and afterwards my skin will peel. I work in sales and I look horrible and they don't care. And I had to take a day off work, pay $80 for dermatologist and another $45 for cream to heal my skin read more

I was not won over by this place,it's okay.It lacks any sense of feeling pampered. I felt like I got the basics of the facial that I came for,but the needle used for extractions left small marks on my face. That was a first. Small section waiting area, appointment did not start on time, no great aroma some spas have when entering and I cant say much about it. I didnt feel any pushy sales tactics and they were nice. Just got sent away by 2 employees that decided to close TEN minutes before they close. They are not supposed to close until 7pm. I get there 11 minutes (6:50 pm on a FRIDAY)before and they are walking out the door. They claim that if they don't have a customer 30 minutes before they close they can leave early and because they already set the alarm it's too late. I asked them where does it say that regarding having a customers 30 minutes before close. They couldn't answer and said to come back in the morning. One stating to the other, "I have to go Tiffany (I believe her name was)". I work in the area and my fiancé literally buys from here every single month! I was getting a product for her and got there on time and was sent away. This is terrible customer service!!! They clearly only cared about getting home and I HOPE they see this review! That's not how you keep a good reputation. I will recommend to my fiancé that we go else where. I will also recommend all the women in my buckhead office NEVER go to this establishment if that's how you are going to treat individuals. UNACCEPTABLE read more

Like Sherry, I found this place through Groupon. Jimmy got us massages, and I thought that they would be most beneficial after the half marathon. Little did I know that I would do a full day of yard work on the day before the half. Needless to say, that there was enough tension and soreness in my muscles to warrant a deep massage. We arrived on time and were promptly shown to the back where we immediately filled out the new patient information. After all this is a true medical spa. Amy showed me to the massage room, which definitely had a medical feel to it with the tile floor and walls. She talked through my form to make sure she knew what I was looking for. The massage was wonderful. Amy's hands were great! She really worked out everything. She calmly talked about how she'd had a practice in Memphis until her husband had moved to Atlanta for a job. She mentioned that the spa had been there for 20 years. I really appreciate that level of experience because it says to me that the person knows what she's doing if she's been able to sustain 20 years of business. I'm looking forward to running my next half marathon so that I've got another excuse to go back! read more

I had a dermaplaning procedure with Evelyne today She offered to add a hydro facial and when I declined her whole attitude changed. She was not the least bit kind or friendly...she didn't ask me anything about my skin, and didn't wash or prep my face in any way. She offered a drink afterward and never brought it. I found the whole experience with her to be negative and I would not return to her. I found this place by a Groupon, where I got an hour massage, with hot stones for $35. Not bad!! Usually, their hour-long massages are $75, which still isn't bad. The front staff were really nice. They offered me tea or water, and they had loads of cute goodies to look at in the front. I was pretty interested in the cutest tampon case, but in a recession, who can pay $16 for a tin that holds a few tampons? Anyway, I got there early and they showed me into the back where there were a couple of chairs with magazines. Here is why the place gets 4 stars instead of 5: I like my day spas to offer me a place to change into a robe and room to hang out in, in said robe and eat little nibblies and drink tea or water or whatever. It may be asking lot, especially when they only charge $75 for an hour massage, but still, that's what I like. Also, I was scheduled for a 2.45 pm massage and didn't get seen until 3. This is a bit irritating for those of us who work and are sneaking out of the office for a quick massage, er doctor's appointment, but again I'm completely aware that I'm being hyper-critical. Once I got in the room, Jenny, the masseuse, went to work on me. She was awesome!!! Very attentive to the amount of pressure that she's using. I felt so relaxed after that I was practically giddy. It was great. She even told me a few things I can do to stretch my tense areas (neck and upper back) when I'm at home. I cannot say enough good things about the massage. I have been hesitant to write this review, because I would love to keep Judith all to myself! Butttt, I have benefited from the reviews of others, so I feel it is time to share. I have been going to Judith for facials at Institut DERMed for over 3 years. I have combination skin and in the past felt facials were either too tough and left my skin red with break outs or hardly did anything at all. With Judith, I feel I get a strong racial with out any recourse and I have noticed visible improvement to my skin over time. Not only does she personalize my facials given the state of my skin that day, but she has given me tips over the years that have added to my general skin care routine. I highly recommend a facial with Judith. Moisturizing/brightening/cleansing - she does it all. Cherry on top: she's a pleasure to be around! read more

I'm now getting my facials with Rumiko Acopa at Insitut Dermed. She's great at what she do and doesn't give too much pressure about buying products or upgrading services. One time she recommended a product that was too strong to be use everyday and my face was getting rashes. But she immediately agreed to see me and gave me treatments for the problem. Just like any relationship, if you can work out problems with the other person then it's all good. So I guess it is who you see that will work for you at this place. read more

I hate to write this, but I feel the update is necessary. I bought one of the mother's day special facials and it had to be the worst facial I've ever experienced. My 60 min facial lasted 35 min and the aesthetician tried to upsell me on every possible product. I am pregnant, so upgrading to a peel or some strong products wasn't really in the cards for me. I get that they do these deals to make more money on the upsell. However, I have also bought full priced facials and the quality is drastically lower unless I upgrade to a peel or microdermabrasion. And it makes me nervous as I've referred a lot of my friends there over the years. From now on, I'm staying away and will only be going to my dermatologist's office for facials where service seems more consistent without the constant upsell. read more

Pregnancy does some really strange things to your skin the worse of all being the extreme sensitivity (the best of all being that glorious sexy glow; man I miss that!). I needed some R&R and my friend needed to use her groupon before it expired. I gladly accepted the invitation to get a discount facial. I arrived to be greeted by a pleasant bunch of ladies and a relaxing decor. I didn't wait long for the esthetician to take me to the back an exam my skin. She said it looked great, noted that I was pregnant, said she'd be gentle because she knows that my skin is likely sensitive but proceeds to suggest all these add-on services including abrasive treatments and peels. Hunh?!? Of course I declined and got the basic facial which was nothing spectacle. I wish more effort would have been put into the facial... bummer! read more

Like most of the other reviewers, I found this place through Groupon. It looks like I should I have used it for the massage rather than the facial! I love buying Groupons because it gives me the opportunity to try new places at a lower cost. The second I got on the table to start the facial my esthetician, Alla, started trying to sell me other services. I was in sales for many years, so I don't mind hearing a pitch or two. I am respectful, and I'll listen with an open-mind. With that being said, I expect the same amount of respect in return. I am at a spa for a reason. It is supposed to be a relaxing experience, but not this time. She spoke negatively about other spas I had been to and made me feel like an idiot for using any and all products I had ever put on my face. On top of all of that, the facial hurt, and I mean hurt! I have had quite a few, and I don't think they are supposed to be that painful. She also shaved my face. Yes, she SHAVED my face. I had a covering over my eyes, but after a few seconds of a strange scraping feeling, I asked what was going on. At that point, half of my face had been shaved, and there wasn't anything I could do about it. It would have been nice if she would have asked me before doing that procedure. When she explained the steps that would be taken in the beginning, she neglected to mention that she would be removing hair from my face. Even after the frustration I experienced during the facial, I was interested in seeing a few of their products. I had read positive reviews of them on other websites. Once I stepped out of the room, she already had 4 or 5 products for me to look at. After allowing her to try to explain the products, I eventually stopped her and asked what the price was of each. I'm obviously already interested if I didn't say no to the pitch, so please tell me the price when I ask for it. She gave me the price of the cleanser and then went back in to full-blown sales pitch rather than telling me the other prices. At that point, I said I wasn't interested and left. I think the spa has potential in general. Obviously others liked the massages, but I won't be returning. It was clean and the front desk was friendly. read more

I heard @ Institut DERMed years ago but never tried it. They just celebrated their 20th anniversary. I had been going to another place for facials but once I started working out every day, 2 showers a day - I didn't feel as though my skin was being cared for properly...so I gave DERMed a try. My first visit was with Liz and I now see her every month. She is awesome. She is great at listening to my concerns, then assesses my skin and does her magic. This is the first time I can really see a difference after a facial. Liz is available in between appts if I have a question. She always wants my feedback on treatment and/or products. Oh, she doesn't try to push every product on me. She likes me to sample them first. and she's sweet. My skin has never looked better. read more

Today I went in for the first time to get control of my acne. I went in and did a hydrafacial as well as dermaplaning... let me just tell you how absolutely INCREDIBLE Rutu Patel is! She was absolutely amazing and so very helpful! She took her time with me and explained everything she was doing just so that I was aware of what was being done and why! I have been a client at Institut Dermed for 5 years now. I go for the facials which is what I am reviewing today. My esthetician is Evelyne and she is absolutely amazing. I have never had such treatment. I can absolutely say I will never ever consider anyone else. She is so kind and gentle throughout the entire process. She makes me feel so relaxed (even with microdermabrasion and peels and extractions!). I also love the products too. I have to be careful and only buy what I need though because I could go crazy buying so many wonderful items for my skin. I should say that I'm in my early 30's and have struggled with acne since my early teens. Before finding Evelyne breakouts were a constant issue. I found Institut' Dermed through Groupon two years ago and have tried three different estheticians at this spa before finding my favorite, Evelyne. I started breaking out with a lot of pimples (cyst like) two months before going to her. I decided to give this place another try and when I met her she instantly said she could help me. She gave me an anti-bacterial facial which pumps oxygen into your pores to kill the bacteria and then we did microdermabrasion. I am shocked at how well their products work (yes, I bought their products which is something I never do). Evelyne is very kind and you can tell she cares when you tell her your concerns. I had never had a spa facial, so I did a lot of research on local spas before booking one. I kinda stumbled on this place and saw that it had consistently good reviews. They also had a link to a discount coupon posted on their own website. I've now been twice to get facials from Evelyne and I couldn't be happier. The prices are phenomenally reasonable and I am never pressured to buy things or even do suggested treatments, but she does make suggestions and always keeps me informed on prices so I never fear that I'll walk out of there having paid more than expected. In house formulated skin care products are both soothing and aggressive in anti ageing with amazing results! My brown spots from sun damage and fine lines are almost gone...even at 50-ish! Hands-down... she has to be one of the most knowledgable women on skin care that I have ever met. Before coming to Amy, I got so tired of me telling an esthetician what I thought I needed to keep my skin looking from looking tired. What do I know? I work in finance! Now I have Amy, who from the very beginning, has always taken a personal interest in continuing to improve my skin with advanced treatments offered through Dermed. She is an expert in administering various laser treatments, radio frequency for skin tightening and my absolute favorite, DermaFrac! I had my first massage today at Institut' Dermed with Miko and it was fantastic. She really knew what she was doing and was able to explain all the pain I had was due to sitting at a computer all day. She found some pressure points and was able to provide tips that would help reduce the pressure in the future. The one other things she explained to me that no one else had was that the pain I feel in my temples when they is due to the TMJ I have. Every other massage therapist just kept rubbing my temples. I visited Institut Dermed because I purchased a Groupon for microdermabrasion. I have some minor acne scarring and was hoping that would help. Upon opening the door, I was pleased with the cleanliness, decor, and professionalism in the lobby. I was early and escorted to a waiting area to fill out paperwork, including my current skincare regime. I like this, so my aesthetician can analyze and help me out in picking out the right products for my skin. Her name is Kimberly, and she was awesome. I was very skeptical since it was a Groupon visit, but she did a great job analyzing my skin, commenting on my current regime (which she didn't criticize or try to change), and didn't push any products on me. That really surprised me. She even did a little bit extra than what I paid for to help me out (I had a really ugly pimple and a date that night - yikes). She also did some extractions. My skin looked great afterwards. I will definitely go back. She recommended a couple of pricier but more effective treatments for my scarring (IPL and Radio frequency). I'm not sure how they would charge for a spot treatment vs. a full facial, but I am definitely going to check. Buy a Groupon and check them out. You won't be sorry. read more

Institut DERMed is truly a unique place - it combines the knowledge of a dermatologist with the comfort of a spa. Lea was my aesthetician and she could not have been more professional, yet friendly! I love that part of the initial consultation was her asking, "Tell me what you like about your skin." It's always so easy to jump to the bad, but it really set the tone when she asked me to point out the good. The Institut DERMed products are amazing - I felt so great walking out of there. However, I appreciated that there wasn't any pressure to purchase them. I currently use a product that had been working really well for me, so Lea just gave me a small sample of one of the DERMed products to take home with me. No pressure at all! She was a great representation of their culture - I will definitely be coming back! read more

Hate to write this after being a loyal client with the Institut Dermed in Buckhead for over a decade. Over the years I have referred and given spa gift certificates to many of my friends, family and business colleagues. The quality of service from the therapists is consistently excellent!! Unfortunately I am looking for a new spa due to the "gotcha" mentality of the current Spa Manager. This is such a disappointment, and I hate it for the very fine therapists who work at this location. He seems to be focused on grabbing every possible dollar from the customer rather than on delivering a good customer experience. Two examples to follow. When I asked to credit the value of my 50 min massage "Groupon" towards my 1.5hr massage, allowing me to pay the difference, he not only refused but suggested that I could always be credited the amount paid for the groupon. I had a 50 min massage previous weeks and could have used it then, but could not find the groupon and he refused to look it up. Another time he called when I was en route to an appointment to cancel and asked me to reschedule which I was happy to do. However when I asked if he would comp the rescheduled service as a courtesy for the inconvenience he said they don't do that. Any other spa would have offered to do this as a courtesy. Thirdly he is always at the front reception desk, interrupting the polite, professional capable ladies who do such a fine job. His presence seems intrusive and disruptive. read more

After being a very loyal client I feel I must write to express how extremely disappointed I am with the changes at Institut Dermed. Recently, I have had too many bad experiences. First I was told the esthetician I had been seeing was no longer working there. So another esthetician was recommended and I truly love what she does for my face. How embarrassing to go in and see the lady I use to go to. She has not left the spa! My next bad experience was trying to change an appointment. I was very clear on the phone stating when I wanted my next appointment. First I am told my current esthetician is not available for evening appointments. So I took the employee at her word. She then called me back 3 times to keep changing the appointment. Clearly she did not listen to the client. Unfortunately there have been too many changes with the front office staff. I use to feel valued because when I called or came in to purchase products, I was acknowledged by name and would receive 1-2 hugs from the ladies. Now the front office staff is an odd looking MAN with an ugly ponytail and a woman who is obviously his girlfriend. The entire time I was in, they were fraternizing in a most unprofessional manner. He was very close to her and she was enjoying his attention. It was clear they wanted me to leave quickly. Perhaps that is why I did not receive a receipt or have my points mentioned to me. I always understood if a new service was booked, a client would receive additional points. Clients spend money for services and in return earn points to be redeemed. From the previous wonderful staff that use to work at Institut, I knew I had sufficient points to redeem. At this appointment, the man accused me of arriving late. I was 15 minutes early. Even if I had been late, since the weather was bad and traffic was heavy, a good customer service employee does not speak to a client in that manner. I even called to indicate I was trying to get through the bad weather, when his comment was "what do you think it is like here"? Once again rude to the point that I almost did not show up for this newly booked service. My most recent experience was with my esthetician who is truly wonderful. I trust her completely and would not want anyone else touching my face. Upon my arrival (I was 15 minutes early again), I was looking at some products when a most rude female (new again) came up and said you are checked in aren't you? I said I had no idea what the ones behind the desk had done and I just wanted to look at some products. She informed me NO, I needed to go sit down and wait for my appointment. Could it have been because I did not have make up on??? Upon check out for this service, there was no mention of my points. I was given a total amount and I asked aren't I at a level to redeem my points. The girlfriend of the man, checked and then asked me did I want to use them? Why else would I ask about them? Once again, no receipt, no mention of any remaining points. Since I wanted to book my next appointment while I was there, I was told if I wanted an evening appointment it would have to be with someone else since my esthetician did not do evening appointments. Knowing this to not be true, I insisted that her last evening appointment for a specific week be booked for me. Makes me wonder, are they trying to run off the clients of the highly competent esthetician who does not force products on her clients?? I do not know why so many changes have occurred at the spa that I use to look forward to going to. Given the current situation, when I need more products, I guess I will order through Amazon because I am very uncomfortable coming in with this man and his girlfriend running the front desk. I have already found another spa to purchase one of my products from. They offer the same services as Institut does. The only missing piece is the esthetician I trust and love to see. While I have been encouraging a girlfriend to book an appointment with her, I will no longer encourage her because I would not want her to be treated as I have been. CHANGE is fine when it is positive. The current changes are unprofessional, unfriendly and makes me question do I really want to continue spending my money at this business. read more

I got a gift card for my birthday and went in for a facial a few weeks before my wedding to try to improve my skin after all the stress acne I had been getting during planning. Luckily, I was booked with Evelyn. She sat down with me and really listened to my concerns. She did everything she could to help me improve my skin in time for my big day. She was very sympathetic and went above and beyond what any aesthatician has ever done for me. I would recommend her again and again and will never go any where else for a facial.
