cute store! very homey and clean. Drove past it and actually turned around to try them. Wanted donuts and decided to do a stand alone store instead of franchise. Had glazed, maple and chocolate glazed/cake. All delicious! Price wasn't bad, good for size. The lady at the counter was sweet and nice. Was craving kolaches and found this place on Yelp. Since there is only one Kolache Factory in SA and it's clear across town we decided to give Instant Donuts a try. They offer a variety of sweet (right side of display case) and savory (left side of display case). I like how if you are craving a sausage, cheese and jalapeño you have the option to getting it in a croissant, jumbo kolache, biscuit, or taco. They also have ham & cheese as well as sausage only, sausage cheese, sausage egg & cheese, bacon egg & cheese and so forth. We were hoping the sausage was polish sausage, but tasted more like a hot dog with cheese & jalapeño. For the sweet side, they offer a decent variety of donuts (glazed, flavored, icings, etc). They also offer a wide selection of beverages such as fruit juices, sodas, teas, milk, energy drinks, and coffee. I kinda wished they had the jalapeño popper and sausage biscuits and gravy kolaches like at the Kolache Factory, but I can't complain too much. Service here was friendly and energetic. My husband and I moved to this side of town a year ago and were so happy we found this gem!! The donuts are amazing and they have delicious kolaches and croissant sandwiches that I order when I don't want something sweet. They do custom orders as well. I showed the owner a picture of some galaxy donuts I wanted for my birthday and she made the most beautiful batch the next day. I also love seeing the different holiday donuts. Finally a mom and pop doughnut shop close by and tastes amazing!. This shop is in the shopping center next to the shell gas station. You can't miss it since you can see it from the street. Craving a doughnut so I thought I would finally try it out since I pass it all the time. Yummy yum yum!!...the doughnuts where super fresh! They have an awesome selection of doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches. Plus a great variety of bottle juices and coffee. This little local gem is amazing! I have had their kolaches, croissants and donuts and not ONE has disappointed. They closed down earlier during the year due to COVID but looks like they have been consistently open now which is great- so I can get my fix! My daughter and I have really enjoyed visiting here!! They are family run place and they could not be any nicer people! They always greet us with a smile and sometimes the husband will even come out of the back to say hi. Their donuts are fresh made, which you can see them making in the back. They have a huge display full of varieties of donuts with some Staples always being there (glazed, filled, long johns etc) and some that are changed out daily like today they had a chocolate glaze with M&Ms on top, a chocolate cake donut with chocolate glaze on top ECT What truly gives them the five stars, outside of their extremely friendly customer service, is there a big selection of kolaches, croissant sandwiches and other delicatessens that consists of egg / bacon/sausage ect. We have gone 4 days in a row, due to scheduling, everything always is fresh, colorful and well stocked. My husband and I were very impressed with Instant Donuts. We went on a Monday holiday around 9 or so and there was no wait at all. They had a good selection of sweets, though don't expect to see absolutely everything they have listed on the menu - I imagine it depends on the day and time you go. My husband got a maple bar and they offered to fill it with cream, which I had never seen before and thought was an awesome touch! We each got kolaches and I got a croissant (I'm not really a sweets person). The jumbo kolaches are ENORMOUS and the dough has to be the most perfect kolache dough I've ever had in my life. It was so light and fluffy that it almost dissolves in your mouth, which just a touch of sweetness to it. I'm a big fan of jalapeño and cheese kolaches and this one had the perfect ratio of fillings and the right amount of spice. Honestly, the jumbo ones probably a meal unto themselves... but I believe in my ability to consume calories, so I didn't stop there. The croissant was as light as the kolache dough, all of its flaky layers puffed up around the sausage and cheese with just a little bit of grease, making this a really interesting mesh of a fancy French baked good and a traditional southern breakfast food. And despite my affinity for the savory, the donut holes looked so cute and perfect and seemed too good to be true at 79 cents for half a dozen, so I took the bait. And man oh man, I am so glad I did - these are NOT your overly sweet, cakey donut holes, but yet another ode to lightness with a glaze that enhances the fried dough without overwhelming your palate with sugar. Instant Donuts is a little bit out of the way for me but I definitely plan to return. read more
