This unfortunately led to needing the tooth to be removed, but he was able to guide me through the process and connect me with a wonderful oral surgeon. Throughout the process, it was evident that he was closely communicating with the offices of the various sub-specialists, coordinating my care, and probably spending time outside of his normal clinical hours to do so. Dr. Hassid has a very calm, patient bedside manner. He always takes the time to explain things, in clear, simple and easy-to-understand terms, and makes sure all my questions are answered. I can tell he really cares about his patients. His office staff are also all excellent - extremely courteous, accommodating, and professional. As an example, I had an appointment with him this morning. I received a phone call that one of the staff had called in sick, and my appointment would need to be rescheduled. However, very quickly, Dr. Hassid went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate me into his schedule today, so that I could still be seen. It definitely wasn't necessary but really showed the level of commitment Dr. Hassid and his team have toward their patients. I think I'll be a patient here for a very long time.

The new patient/scheduling process is very smooth, as well. I simply filled out the new patient form online, got an email the next day from the office to schedule my appointment (which worked great for me, since I often can't take phone calls during the day), and was ready to go. I have sleep apnea and wanted some type of mouth guard and they seemed to be a best fit based on all my research. When I came in, I scheduled during my lunch hour, and it was less than 5 minutes from the office. I loved that I got a notification reminder week of and hour before, as sometimes I tend to lose track of time. I entered into a bright lobby and was greeted promptly (by name!!!) and was checked in. The wait time wasn't long, just a couple of minutes and the dental assistant guided me back to the room. Walking through the halls, have such great lighting, great for a photo!! lol, but entered in the room, chair was super comfy and they have a tv on the chair so you are distracted for whatever dental cause brought you in! Great for those that don't like the dentist! Dr. McRay came in after getting all checked in and asked me about my sleep study and helped review over all the information in the results and explained in great detail what he was able to offer and provide me and how he is different from other devices that are used out in the industry. I was really happy with how knowledgeable he was, as well as the staff, and making me feel super comfortable with my choice and confident in moving forward. He explained all the costs upfront and what all the costs entailed, which I left feeling even more confident that I'd made the right choice. I left and took some time to think it all through and before I knew it, I was scheduling my follow up to get fitted for my mouth guard. The cool thing about their process includes some breathing tests so that they know how to make adjustments to the mouth guard and make it truly fitted for you. They sent everything off and received back in two weeks. Night one, I noticed such a huge difference in how I slept and woke up feeling so rested and less groggy. The staff here are hands down the best! Located off of Gessner near Richmond in a one story brick building. Plenty of parking. Checkin was easy & before long H took his "no-feelz" pill to knock him out. They provide a large room for the patients & guest to wait. The patient is placed in a recliner until they are ready to be taken back into the back where the magic happens. After nodding off H had to be wakened & taken into one of the operating rooms. Once he was settled I went back to the waiting room & since there were no other patients I snagged a recliner. The place is kept cold so wear a jacket & layers. I fell asleep & when woken up someone had put a blanket on me. Awwwww, just like mom used to do. The doctors are specialists & know what they are doing. They do their job really well & H is headed in the right direction for oral health. After receiving after-care information I pulled the car up front so they could wheel H out. Eight years after walking into this office, I can look back and be certain that walking in was one if not the worst decision of my life. Teeth are precious and not only tools for chewing--they're part of an interconnected system involving digestion, posture, emotions, energy, and overall vitality. This practice doesn't focus on any of that but surely has a strong focus to sell. I worked with 3 different dentist's here; I was young and said yes to everything: frequent cleanings and all the upsell that comes with that, many fillings, crowns, 3 root canals, and even more! I thought I was being responsible. One of the main things to highlight is, absolutely ALL of the crowns were left with a margin. I learned over the years by asking questions that same day crowns are typically found in chain practices where the doctor is not the one molding and the staff is not always well equipped. This was absolutely true. I can think of a time where I removed the molding for the assistant myself(of course I did it wrong). I visited another dentist during that time who did a 3D scan. That doctor warned me of the margin on a particular tooth. I went back to this practice and Dr. Lising minded. She insisted that the crown was fine. That was on a root canal so I didn't feel discomfort, yet the crown fell off on a random day. Sadly it was too late-there was significant decay underneath and the tooth had to be shaved down significantly. Dr. Lising was not pleasant to work with during this time. As I read on many other recent reviews, I also experienced the arrogance. She laughed at my hesitation to "fix" the issue. I agreed to placing a dental post to then place a new crown. Sadly, the post caused the tooth to break and led to an infection that showed while pregnant. I had to have an extraction while pregnant and an implant months later. This costed me several thousands. On a different occasion, I complained of sensitivity on a particular tooth and was told that I needed a root canal. With what I know now, I can say that it was called too early. All I did was say that it was sensitive, that's it. Root canals are bad news and I just extracted a second one. The recovery was brutal. I have one to more to go. Another experience was an onlay that fell off 4 times before it never moved again- I don't know how that was accomplished. If I could go back, I would want my young self to read this review and be intrigued to read on functional/biological dentistry. You will find a doctor who will cost you a bit more per visit but a whole lot less over time, a Dr. that will care to save your teeth. I do not have any pleasure in leaving this review, in fact it is hard but I feel a strong need to. I have spent thousands of dollars over the last 4 years to redo all the work that I have paid for in the past! It is painful in every way and I don't wish it on anyone. If you are looking for a dentist, please be kind to yourself and look for a Dr that will care for you from a functional perspective and educate you while saving your teeth.

I picked this office after deciding after 10+ years to get a cosmetic crown over a root canal I had done. The original mould taken of my teeth before my tooth was shaved down was taken while I still had glue on the back of my teeth from a permanent retainer I had to get removed prior to the procedure, and I believe this resulted in many issues with my crowns in the future, although this was never confirmed when I mentioned it. I ended up having the crown remade, getting the first one shaved off my tooth since the color was dark in certain lighting. When my first crown was taken off, a bit of my tooth next to it was shaved off too, one of the ladies said it might have been the shape of my new tooth while I was there, but after comparing pictures, my tooth was definitely nicked. Unfortunately, all of my worry about the color was small, as the feeling of the back of the crowns felt awful. Ultimately, after over an hour of shaving the final crown down, it is a shape I feel like I can live with for the rest of my life without bothering me. The color is a bit off, even after going in person to the tooth color lab. It is not worth it to me to have more damage to my other tooth, risk feeling a tooth that does not belong in my mouth again, or not being able to bite with my front teeth for another 3 months to have one remade. Overall, it is better than when I came in, but I am not sure I would go through the process again if I was sent back in time. I am really glad they were willing to remake the crown without hesitation, I am not sure if the errors are human, the specific lab, or the technology is not quite there yet. Mostly just posting if there is anyone else debating and looking for a singular dark front tooth case.
