Friend wanted to try Insomnia cookies so we stopped by. Ordered a snickerdoodle and double chocolate chunk cookie. The worker pulled it out from somewhere under the register and each cookie got their own bag (instead of being stuffed into the same one), which I appreciated. Taste was average, exactly what I expected. This is a grab and go spot so theres no seating available. Not a spot I personally would ever come to again, but if you're just dying for a cookie, then this place will do.

"Deluxe" peanut butter cup and chocolate chip cookie

Cookies was mediocre and disappointing. If you want a real deluxe cookie find a costco that sells chocolate chip in the food court. Service was good but the inside was cramped up. No repeat for me.

I went when they gave out free 6 cookies. The cookies arent too bad and they heat them up for you as well. I got chocolate-chip , snickerdoodle, and a sugar cookie. The sugar cookie was the best one for me and the service was really quick. There is no seating so prepare to stand.

I'm a big fan of this cookie chain. The cookies are just cravable, and the quality and flavor tend to be consistent no matter what location I visit. I've been to the Kearny store several times before, and my experience was no different this past Thursday. There were plenty of cookies to choose from near closing time. Got my regular, the oatmeal chocolate walnut deluxe. Parking was easy, service was efficient, and the cookie was warm, chocolatey, and delicious... I have no complaints.

Missing cookies

I had ordered 6 cookies for delivery but only received 5. The store did not follow up after I contacted about this issue and the company did not respond when I reviews the service and instead of making things right they sent me a discount code. Very disappointed as I loved insomnia cookies from other locations. Next step I will be connect with my bank for a partial refund as I did not receive my whole order.

Broken up pieces of cookies because they pack 2 cookies in a bag. Also inside is raw dough. Not cooked through.

I ask for a box and they said 4 cookies can't get a box. Was thinking of getting 6 just to get a box but now glad I didn't because I felt like this is a bad cookie place. Then the guy kept shaking his head when I complained that he put the peanut butter cookie with the chocolate cookie because they apparently pack two cookies into one bag! So not only do they not give you a box, or at least let me buy one. They pack 2 cookies in one flimsy bag. He did exchange it out, but i already felt like it's strike 2. One of my friends can't eat chocolate so I try to get it separately. So as expected, all the cookies are broken by the time I got home to meet my friends. While gooey, not all of the cookies' inside are fully baked through, so you have some actual gooey cookies and some parts that are uncooked dough in the middle. Had to cook it again in the microwave or oven (I did microwave). I got a PB cookie (the one that needed to be extra separated); a double chocolate chip; a regular chocolate chip; and a peanut butter with chocolate?! I forgot all the names. Sorry. Bad quality control, unpleasant customer service, Won't buy again. However I will say that the store looks very clean from what I can see.

Snickerdoodle. Funfetti. Peanut butter chip, Reese's something or other.

I honestly don't know why people go to crumbl. That place is so overhyped. This is my first time here, smells so good as you walk in. The cookies are my perfect textured cookie. A little crisp, but also soft. Every single cookie I got was great. I'm not huge on sweets, except for that rare occasion when you have a craving for extreme sweets. And here we are. The cookies were semi-warm in the box. And still delicious when I made it home in Oakland. The girls behind the counter were pretty nice. Overall a good experience.

Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chunk and White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies

I'm a huge fan of insomnia cookies, I fell in love with it in NYC, it was there for me in San Diego and now its here for me again in a new city! It fills a void that doesn't happen often but when it does, you know that it hits hard and you want nothing more than a good ice cream cookie sandwich. Highly recommend vanilla ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chunk and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. Pro tip: Eat this with a spoon. Don't even try using your hands for this monstrosity. It sounds weird but trust me.

Funfetti
Sahar N.

Decent customer service - delicious cookies. Highly suggest the Chocolate Chunk and Snickerdoodle. The Funfetti was sweeter than expected but appreciate that there are vegan options with the regular ones. There's also a small selection of ice cream. Definitely pop in for a yummy treat!

I first saw ads of this on social media and thought this was only a New York thing, but when I drove past recently I just had to try it. I also did not know it was an actual shop operating in the daytime, as I thought it was only a late-night delivery service. After looking online, I was fairly disappointed to see that this location did not have the special flavors like lemon and blueberry as shown on the website. Nonetheless, still grateful I was able to get my favorite flavor: oatmeal chocolate walnut (fun fact: my ultimate fave cookie is from DoubleTree). I appreciate how these cookies were served warm, however I don't believe the $4.75 was worth it. The size of the cookies were good in width but in my opinion Crumbl cookies give you a better bang for your buck. I'm also puzzled by their box sets as you're unable to mix n match their classics and deluxe flavors. Maybe I'll try this place again with the late-night delivery

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

My friend had to Thai tea crepe cake & I had the mango tango (because I looooove mangoes). The Thai tea crepe was pretty good, lots of Thai tea flavor, and not too sweet. The Thai tea custard sauce added a bit of sweetness to it. The mango tango was sooo good! I loved the coconut ice cream (it's a shaved from a block of ice cream so it's really fluffy). Another fun & tasty surprise. All in all - we will probably share just one dish next time - but definitely coming back

To be honest, when I came here, I did not expect much. I typically am not the type to get snow or anything icy, since it is not the first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to dessert, but I am so glad I got to experience this.
