I only actually ate about two cookies and shared the rest with a friend but they were tasty and warm! I love this place. I especially love the salted caramel cookies, they are absolutely delicious. They also hold up pretty well if you do not finish all your cookies in one day, just put them in a Ziploc bag and nuke them in the microwave for about 10 seconds and they are back warm and delicious. read more

Love that they have four vegan cookie options. I choose three: birthday cake, chocolate chip, and double chocolate. All very good. A little greasy or oily, but decedent nonethelss. I have been waiting for a very long time to try Insomnia Cookies. I have stopped in to many of the locations like East Lansing and Ann Arbor, but I never bought anything because I had already eaten and just wanted to see what they offer. I had heard they opened in Rochester, I imagine to be close to Oakland University and it has been on my list to stop by and finally try it. But oddly enough, the actual reason that brought me here was FNAF. My child is a huge fan and had heard about their cookie pizza promo. While it was only a cardboard cover of their normal box and not one special pizza in a special box. Honestly, it did not matter. It was fun customizing the cookie and the kids loved it. Full honesty, I called the morning it promo came out to make sure it was available in MI. When you call you do not speak directly to the store but to a call center. The person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I went online a designed the cookie, an M&M cookie with caramel apple topping (which I think was just apple pieces), chocolate drizzle, buttercream frosting, and brownie pieces. Then when I picked up the giant cookie I wanted to try their classic cookies so I got a chocolate chunk and a peanut butter chip. The store was not big but had places to sit. The person working the counter was not out front and average helpful once we came out to assist. I tried the chocolate chunk hot, it was good, but as I suspected, it just tasted like a slice and bake from the grocery store, nothing mind blowing but good. The cookie pizza was delicious but I cannot tell if it is better than any equivalent giant cookie you can buy anywhere. Plus for the size of both the giant cookie and the smaller cookies, they are very pricey. They also remind me of Otis Spunkmire cookies that they sell at Sub Way or on fundraisers which I used to love to get their slice and bake. So, conclusion. I enjoyed the cookies and I would return. I liked the variety of cookies and customization Insomnia had to offer plus the scoopable ice cream option, in that respect they beat Crumbl. But Crumbl cookies are larger and way more filling for the price but have less choices and no option to customize at this time. Both places cost a lot. Plus you can get many different flavors of slice and bake at all grocery stores that have a similar flavor. But if you only want one or a big variety of single flavors, or you want a fast hot and delicious cookie, this is a great place. I will be back. read more

Didn't get it once but twice in two days ordered on their app and go both orders in a timely fashion. The birthday cake vegan cookie is absolutely delicious I am so surprised that it is vegan the flavor is spot on. I also got the regular chocolate chip and double chocolate chip both also delicious. Popped in on a whim and I am so glad I did. As soon as you walked into the store you could smell cookies baking. My favorite is the pb chip. Cookies have a nice crispy edge and soft middle. Well, I want to give this place all five stars but cannot if I'm being honest. I've had insomnia cookies before and these were cooked too long. The cookies were crisp on the edges and not soft. A couple hours later and the rest of the cookies we bought were hard. Such a bummer because I can bake softer cookies than this. If you like soft cookies then this is not your place. After waiting patiently for 10yrs, I thought this day would never arrive. An Insomnia Cookies in my city! I came here on the opening day, there were huge crowds of ppl all equally sharing the excitement of fresh cookies that taste just like how a cookie is supposed to taste. Without a doubt the chocolate chip cookies here are best cookies I have had in my life! All other cookies literally 'crumble' (pun intended) in terms of flavor and freshness, compared to these. The price per cookie is also great @ $2.25 for a classic and $3.75 for a deluxe. I ordered a classic chocolate chip and a double chocolate one. Wooooooww unbelievably fantastic! The chocolate was melting and the cookies were quite warm almost hot! Super fresh. I ate both cookies within 5 minutes of receiving my order and to my surprise I didn't feel like I was suffering from a sugar stroke or clogged arteries questioning my life's decisions, like how I felt after eating 1/2 of a cookie from another anonymous place for which my expectations 'crumbled'... along with my wallet bc woow those cookies are eggspensive! Wow thought the only location was in Yspi but found out there was one where we were having dinner. So we got alittle dessert after having some dinner. Never disappointed with the cookies here. Always an all time favorite which ever one I get. I have tried many of them and never had a bad cookie. The best part is that they are open late and can get a cookie from here late at night. So, I placed an order for my wife's birthday. I saw a good deal and ordered them a few weeks in advance (they allow for extended time frames). At the requested delivery time, I receive an email saying there is a problem with my order, and they issued me a credit (at least THAT part was done right!). The email suggested that I call and they will make it right. Been on hold for several minutes. Why am I not notified until the order delivery time that there's a problem with my order resulting in its being cancelled when they have had the order for weeks??? Seriously, I'm calling to discuss a problem with an order, and no one can pick up the phone in half an hour (and counting)! - Updated- Gave up on the phone call after waiting far too long. Got an email back from customer service saying that they tried to contact me (funny that the credit was issued before the email asking me to call them), and of course, what good does it do to call when you're only put on hold until you hang up? Real reason order was cancelled (as noted by the rep) - not enough delivery drivers. Maybe their cookies are good, but I wouldn't go with a delivery order, ever. Well where to start.....I understand the whole vibe is "after dark" but when me and my friend drove by there was no employee up at the front and the store looked dark and we assumed they were closed. Thankfully we gave the door a try and it was open. An employee barely greeted us with a dry hello and proceeded to not understand our question when we asked if there were any deals going on saying "none that she is aware of". We proceeded to place an online order to use the 10% off coupon we got for signing up. The Recommended time to "pickup" was 30 minutes after the initial time of ordering which is understandable but none of the employees even asked if we needed help with anything while we were just sitting there with no employees insight only when a customer walked in. Only after the 30 minutes did I say I had an order to which they boxed all our cookies up handed them to us and all was well...until I noticed two of the cookies we had ordered were not given when I asked the lady up at the front she slowly walked to the back and got the male employee who got our cookies in the first place and he was like oops sorry... the little opps was 10 dollars worth of cookies. Nevertheless we tried the cookies and the deluxes were decent but the classic cookies were a different story...a few were decent but some of them were absolutely feral a few of them were underbaked and leaking butter from them. If I wanted cookie dough I woulda gone to Kroger... I don't know what the standard for a cookie is at insomnia but it definitely should be falling apart while im eating it and making my hands greasy...The oatmeal raisin cookie was absolutely horrible and I love oatmeal raisin but this was like eating dry oatmeal no flavor and not enough raisins. The "jinglebread" cookie was just pure ginger and very disappointing and tasted kinda like medicine....But what really shocked me was the snickerdoodle absolutely not flavorful and tasted bland.... How do you mess up snickerdoodle?!? I will say the vegan cookies tasted like they weren't vegan which I liked even though im not vegan. The chocolate chip cookies were good kinda tasted like costco cookies. The midnight cookie was pretty good. Honestly I rate the cookies a solid 3 and this whole establishment a 2. will I be back maybe... not sure but honestly not a fun first experience.
