I was in the mood for a sweet treat and decided to come to Insomina Cookies. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the most sweetest and helpful employees. It's a small place with a couple of chairs and a counter to order. The worker gave us some suggestions and even got to sample some ice cream. Her suggestions of the cookies and cream ice cream and double chunk cookie were spot on. We ordered a double scoop cup with cookies and cream and peanut butter ice cream. Both flavors were creamy and delicious. The peanut butter had chunks of peanut butter cups that added even more creaminess and texture to the ice cream. Then we got a 6pack of cookies. Frustrated I forgot to take a picture last night :/ I went around 10 PM. I bought the Red Velvet Cookies 'N Cream Brookie and it looked nothing like the picture on the screen! People rave about this place all the time saying the cookies are so good. I have tried them before and they were just good. This is a very small shop and it can get a bit cramped. Though it's just cookies so you're in and out. The service was quick. I got the Chocolate Chunk and the Classic with M&Ms. They were both good and warm. Were they extraordinary? Insomnia is a staple in the UCF area, and for a good reason! Their desserts are reliable when you have that sweet tooth. I visited this past week, and the caramellionaire ice cream caught my eye. I had asked the worker to recommend the cookie that the ice cream would compliment, and she offered the double chocolate chunk cookie. I ended up choosing the chocolate chunk cookie, but she threw in the double chocolate cookie free of charge! What a nice girl! BEWARE OF ANTS IN COOKIES! We ordered cookies for our son's birthday, making sure to add his contact information to the order. We also specified we wanted them hand delivered and not left at his apartment door. We saw on the tracker that the cookies had been delivered and waited for him to call us to say thank you. We have started coming here recently after a family member recommended it to us. We enjoy the sweet treat every now and again! The location is small, so when it gets busy it can get sort of crowded inside. The pricing is pretty decent and the cookies are really good! They have seasonal/specials that rotate throughout the year! One thing that I have noticed, and why I give four stars instead of five, is the potential for allergens and cross contamination. On a few occasions we have ordered peanut butter cookies along with a few others, and they use the same spatula for the peanut butter cookie that they use for all the others. While we are fortunate not to have any food allergies, but we know people who do have them, and something like this could seriously hurt them. While a small thing for most people, it was a bit off putting to see that they use the same spatula to get all the cookies from their respective trays. read more

The location is right by UCF under some newish apartment building where students live. It can be missed from the main road as it's a small store so pay attention as you are driving. My husband and I each got a chocolate chunk cookie. It was so warm and fresh that we ate it inside the store in seconds. It had the right amount of chocolate chips and it was so gooey I needed to wash my hands after I ate it. The only downside is that the store is really small inside so it was hard to move around since other people were also in line.
