Decided to give Insomnia Cookies a try. The cookies were warm and large. They were all good but I found the selection to be your typical flavors like chocolate chip, sugar cookie and peanut butter. In other words, nothing extravagant, unique or complicated. Usually when I spend a few bucks on a cookie I want it to be something I don't feel like I could have easily made at home. The vegan options that I've tried here are really tasty: Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chunk and Double Chocolate Chunk. Looking forward to them adding a better variety though. On New Year's eve on my way home from picking up food for a party, I realized we didn't have any dessert. Luckily Insomnia Cookies was open around 8pm. The quaint cookie shop was not very busy when I first arrived but the place filled up quickly. The shop was very clean. This is a cashless establishment which I prefer because it saves time from people searching for exact change (like myself). Each transaction was fairly fast. It was my first time here so I ordered 2 to 3 of everything on the menu. I love that that they offer Gluten free vegan Cookies especially since I recently found out that I have a gluten intolerance. The young man who helped me made sure to put my gluten free and cupcake cookies in separate bags inside my box so I would be able to identify which Cookies they were. Ice-cream is not my thing but I think it's fitting for any Cookie shop to offer Ice-cream and Insomnia definitely does. My guest loved the cookies, not sure which was anyone's favorite because they were all gone before the end of the party. My favorite was the gluten free chocolate chip. I love their menu. I love their specials alerts via email. I love ordering from the app. I love the cookies...sized just right and never overcooked. I do love curbside pickup. They do fall apart when placed in the box hot, but that's okay. We like to tear off pieces to try more kinds than commit to just one or two cookies. They are all good - seriously! My favorites though are snickerdoodle while they're still warm but peanut butter after they cool off. I ask for the chocolate mint in a separate bag because the scent flavors the others, IMO. The negatives are a short delivery range and not the cutest place in design. I wish it was adorable and had cute tables where I could bring my kids or best friend for Instagrammable milk & cookies. Exterior They're located in a VERY busy plaza with Mellow Mushroom and Wing Stop so if you go during a certain time of day, parking can be a real challenge. Interior Bright and well lit, but the location I visited didn't have one of those display cases that show all the cookies. Instead, they are kept behind the counter in some sort of warming trays and the you view PHOTOS of the cookies on a wall mounted backlit display board. And its mounted well above eye level. I mention this because this was kind of important later. Ease of ordering I mentioned earlier, you just walk up to the counter and pick your cookies based on photos on the display board. Pay at the register and they retrieve the cookies from under the counter, box them up and hand them to you. I did find their website a bit odd. For instance, most places like this will allow you to view all the locations in your state. This website is only searchable by zip code - and you can't indicate radius. I discovered this because before I tried them, I wanted to check to see if there was a location near (within an hour or two of) my hometown. The only way to do this was to put in various zip codes between Savannah GA and Jacksonville FL and I certainly don't know those zip codes. Lol. Customer Service Both employees were fine. Not over the top friendly. Not unfriendly. Just sort of blah. They seemed a bit tired, but they weren't impatient or anything. When I apologized for my indecisiveness and explained that it was my first time, it was met with silence. A lot of times people will make suggestions / tell you what the crowd pleaser are when it's your first time, I guess they don't do that here. Price / Value I thought the cookies were pretty pricey (factoring in size and quality). They are fairly small and thin. The chocolate does not taste like high end chocolate. Cookies are either 'classic' or 'deluxe.' Classics cost $2.65 per cookie or a half dozen for $14. Deluxe cookies are for $4.15 each or a half dozen for $15.25. Doubletree cookies (made the Christie Cookie Company) are my gold standard and these were nothing like Doubletree cookies. Food We got 1 peanut butter, 1 chocolate chocolate chip, 4 traditional chocolate chip and 1 blondie. The peanut butter was easily the best of the bunch. The chocolate chocolate chip was 'ok' and the traditional chocolate chip was too sweet. The blondie was awful. Hard, crumbly and stale. It also had a plethora of chocolate chunks. I've never had a blondie with chocolate in it. Blondies are typically called blondies because they're made with vanilla. They typically have nuts and everyone once in a while you'll run across one with butterscotch chips, but the chocolate chunks threw me for a loop. I would never had ordered this if I'd seen the actual blondie before it was boxed up. I was having a bad allergy day and my eyes were acting up, everything was a little blurry, so I was struggling to read the display board and I was starting to get a little anxious because there was a line forming behind us. I checked the website later and it turns out that the blondie is actually called the "Chocolate Chunk Blondie," so it was totally my fault. I saw the word 'blondie' and jumped in. Lol. Overall Overall, I can see why this place thrives. They're open late (hence their name) and near KSU's campus so I'm sure they get the munchie crowd. SO while they're not for me, I wish them the best. read more

Absolutely chaotic in this store. We just waited 43 minutes for 1 cookie and 1 brookie. We never saw a manager and the front counter was being run by teenagers with no system in place. They were literally selling receipts down on the counter and pulling them at random. There were people waiting for 5 minutes with the same order as people that had been waiting 30 minutes receiving their orders. The best part was that a worker was getting off and filled up 2 boxes of cookies for herself while customers were still waiting. We were told 3 minutes for my daughter's brookie. It took 43. Craving a late night dessert, so I decided to head over to Insomnia! I ordered online & ordered the 12 pack & selected the double chocolate chunk, chocolate chip, Macadamia Nut, M&M and Sugar Cookie! The cookies were fresh, but I'm not quite sure that they were completely done. Of course I couldn't wait to get home to try one! So, as soon as I got in the car, I picked up one of the sugar cookies and it legit fell apart, cause it was a bit too soft. I'm guessing it didn't have time to firm up, once it got out of the oven. Nonetheless the cookies were good, just need about 2 additional minutes to cool, so they keep their shape. If anyone has seen the video that was posted on facebook, I strongly recommend that you ignore it. There will always be hate filled people looking to stir up trouble and try to get people fired. Especially if they're not the same race as them. I've never had a problem buying my cookies here and the employees have always been pleasant to me. The cookies are good and warm. I ordered my cookies from this location via the app. The inside was clean and the employee created me upon my arrival. The cookies were tasty, no complaints! The only observation I would give feedback on is, the employees should wear gloves at all times, even if you are grabbing the cookies with a "cookie sheet". The cookies were good, of course. This was not my first time visiting. However, I ordered a cookie'wich from them. After seeing that it comes on a tiny plate, I asked the cashier for a box. She told me no. She said it was "store policy" and that she could not do it. We were taking our food to go. I am sure if we had ordered our items on doordash they would have came in boxes, so why not melting ice cream on tiny plates? The ice cream got all over my car and clothes on the way home. Ordered through Uber Eats. They apparently only use Uber eats as a platform for people to place orders and then handle the delivery through a third party. Ordered cookies at 8:49pm. Their uber eats ordering page said delivery would 15-30 min. At 9:25 I logged in and it said "no update", call store. I call store, their voicemail says to contact Uber eats for uodates. I contact Uber eats automated support and it says that the restaurant handles delivery so contact them directly for updated delivery time. At 9:30pm I call the store and talk to a young girl who tells me that the food is ready and a delivery driver is taking it to me and I'll have it by 10:00pm. I live about 15-20 min away so I'm good. At 10:05pm NO COOKIES. I contact the store and the guy says that the food is in its way and will be at my house at 10:26pm. I explain the story and he says that the delivery is through Postmates so he can't see specifics. I told him it had been almost 2 hours and he tells me that their system is showing the order was received at 9:39pm so everything is right on time. I told him I talked to the girl at 9:30pm and he got confused. I told him to cancel my order and he said that I had to cancel it through Uber eats. I called Uber eats and canceled it and got my money back. They informed me that the store didn't want to use their drivers and wants to handle delivery personally. I was sad about not getting my cookies... oh yeah. It's now 10:40pm and my cookies arrived. I am not eating my free cookies while leaving this review. I take it that businesses have to take precautions due to Covid like for instance limit the amount of people that can be in your store at the time. Well put a sign on the door stating how many people can be at your store at the time. Don't yell at your customers "You have to wait outside !!!". Also have a freaking sign also stating that you need to pay with card and not cash. Its really annoying. In addition my nephew is a Senior in HS. Insomnia is having a promotion where HS Seniors get a box of 6 cookies for free. The employee he spoke to had no idea what my nephew was talking about and laughed at him while they were two other people in the store. It wasn't until another employee came to "save the day" that my nephew was able to get his free cookies. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE BETTER!!! Now the positive... those cookies were great!!!! Awesome!!! So today Sunday March 5th I just left insomnia cookies there was a young lady getting ice cream taking a little longer then normal. So the manager came out the back to help me. As well as the new Brownies I wanted to know What the different flavor of Brownies consist of? The manager in return rolled her eyes and had an attitude about my questions which were valid general questions because there were no pictures of them and no descriptions. So when she prepared the cookies she put them all in a single box. I got two peanut butter cookies, a brookie, and little dippers. She put all the chocolate stuff on top of the peanut butter cookies. I ask a question and her response was I already touched them so she can't return them. Which was not what I was asking. She could have suggested putting a wax sheet or something. I did offer to buy two more peanut butter cookies, but she gave them to me, but it wasn't about the money is totally the principal. So if she's the manager and those are her employees, know that you're not gonna get the greatest customer service.
