Been here twice in 7 days, and angry that we haven't gone here before! not sure how long and they've been here but we've lived out this way since 2017, and never heard of them before 3 weeks ago. When I found this place and found they're open till 1 AM, I knew I found a godsend. Every single cupcake place bakery, cookie place, ice cream place and everything in between closes at usually 5 PM on weekends and 7 or 8 PM on weekdays, as theres zero nightlife in this entire area of CA. Just the fact that they are open as late as they are, long past all other businesses that aren't bars and clubs, makes this place a godsend! On top of it, they're cookies are insane! I just wish they had more options. Both times I've gone I'm looking for more flavor options and there just aren't any. How about Strawberry cheesecake, Mexican chocolate, butterscotch chip, cinnamon chip, Lemon with wht chocolate chips, toffee and chocolate chunk? I literally could go on and on with flvor options. When I'm looking at their menu I have 20 flavor options in my head that would make sense for them to have but they don't. But what I've had, and I've had most of the menu except for the vegan options and the bar cookies, because they've been out each time or bar cookies, have been incredible and I've ordered everything twice now that I got the 1st time. The cookies, unless you get Deluxe, are about twice the size of a chip's A Hoy, but smaller than what you would get at almost any other cookie place and they are not cheap! You can smell the intense and incredible smell of cookies being baked as soon as you walk in though, and if the dough has ever been frozen you can't tell, unlike some of these idiots and other reviews have claimed. They're just lying or stupid. I use frozen dough at home when I'm making cookies and my house does not smell intoxicating like this place does when you walk in! you only get that smell from fresh! The next best thing is they serve you the cookie's warm! I've never been to any cookie place where they serve them warm unless you just happen to walk in after they put them in the display case, like Mrs. Fields. My only reason not giving the 5 stars is because the size of the regular cookies for a dozen is astronomical! This is a college town, and people can't afford stuff like that, so I've only gone twice in one week as a fluke. Unfortunately, probably won't be there for many months because their cookies are too small for the price, so have to get a dozen, but you don't get much for the money. Each of those cookies should be about 75 cents not $2.50! The deluxe size should just be their normal size, and they charge a whopping $4.50 each! Shocking price for what is a standard sized cookies at literally any cookie shop we've ever been to, and twice the price at Insomnia. Nevertheless, we are very glad they are here, hope they have a better selection soon, and hope they lower their prices or make the deluxe size the standard size, down the road, and charge $2.50 for those. Still would be too expensive, but much more logical. Only go here at night, since parking and driving in downtown Chico is misery. It's like a tiny cramped Market street in San Francisco here! Hopefully they'll open a location in a less horrible to drive part of a chico, which is literally anywhere else in chico! read more

Pretty simple review the cookies were pretty good very tasty and very big. I gave four stars because the staff member did not seem very kind and he seemed honestly a little annoyed that we were there. There's really not much else to say about it. The front of the store was pretty clean. read more

Everybody who works here is always so nice and welcoming. One time when I did a delivery order, they gave me an extra cookie. It's totally worth it to get the app if you go here often. The points add up really fast. read more

October 22, 2025 7:46PM Genuinely 0 customer service. the worker guy pasty, glasses wearing, and tacky bleached hair was so rude. throwing our cookies in the box. no reason to be rude read more

went in last night for a break from the rave going on next door and to grab a little snack. emilio was incredible in helping me and my friend find what we wanted (and needed at that point lol), as well as giving some great banter while we waited. very happy with everything, just hoping for more gluten free options soon! read more

The customer service at Insomnia is BEYOND AMAZING! I cannot stress enough how relieved I was dealing with this shop. You see I am six hours away, trying to get a birthday treat to my child and I missed putting a unit number in. They were so kind and said, we will make sure they get it and sent another driver. My kiddo got their birthday treat, also said the place is amazing and offer some of the best treats around and I had a full mama heart. Highly recommend! read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. The wimpy guy working tonight was insanely rude. I have never even cared enough to leave a review on a place before but my friends and immediately felt so uncomfortable. As someone who has worked in customer service I have never acted that way towards customers even when I've been tired. read more

I am eating an ice cream with a long name that is caramel based and it's good. It's also soft enough to eat with the plastic spoon. The service is very good. read more

On recent visit to Chico with friends, we walked by Insomnia Cookies several times surprised to see them open so late. It finally hit me, the store name! Looking them up on their website, we saw that they are open til 1AM Sun-Wed and 3am Thurs-Sat! They also deliver cookies! i placed an order for pickup the night before via their app for a pickup time after dinner the next day. The cookies were ready when promised and were warm! This place reminds me of Cream, where you can make ice cream sandwiches with their huge selection of cookies. Tried 6 of their gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookies, regular oatmeal raisin, snicker-doodle, s'mores, cookies and cream. They were all excellent but the snicker-doodle and oatmeal raisin were my favorites! The service was friendly and they adhered to all Covid safety precautions with masks and social distancing. read more

Good cookies, but really expensive for shit service. Ordered online, was assigned a driver then just waited for "ASAP" delivery time. I waited for two hours until I called and discovered they were closed. Didn't receive a call, text, nothing from the establishment to tell me my order wouldn't be fulfilled. Finally I called in the morning and spoke to someone who was very nonchalant about how annoying, inconsiderate, and inconvenient the whole thing was... she also didn't tell me I had to be home to have some cookies delivered to my doorstep? No apology, no.. "sorry that happened" none of that. Shitty customer service, good cookies but really expensive, just go to crumbl. Also, I still don't have my $30 cookies... read more

Took three of us to eat the smaller "classic" size and it was delicious! We picked vanilla ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie on one side and a double chocolate chunk on the other. Cashier was helpful with our first time visit questions. Would have liked some outdoor seating as it was warm inside the shop. read more

I order some cookies on Sunday for my dad for Father's Day. Well I got busy and didn't follow up with my dad until Monday afternoon. The order was delivered to wrong place, (not my mistake) dad didn't get his cookies and I have received NO HELP. I called on Monday and asked them to just send out a new order to my dad but whoever was there seemed to not have the authority to assist. Ok....So I called Tuesday and the after rehashing the incident the manager proceeded to tell me the next hoops I needed hop through. Long story short, it's Friday night and I've been making calls all week to be refunded. My patience and goodwill is over. Next I'll call corporate and trash you on every site until you refund me my 29 dollars. It's not the money. It's the principle. When you screw up it's how you make it right that matters. Epic failure Noey. read more

Always love coming here to get cookies, today at around 11:15pm, I was severely disappointed with the Main Street chico location. Ordered a 6-pack box, 5 double choc chunk and one peanut butter. Found a long hair in the first choc chunk cookie I almost FINISHED eating. Really gross, I hope you guys can enforce proper ways to maintain hygienic standards and procedures. I'm afraid to eat any of the other cookies I bought tonight, money wasted :) read more

it's gas but there was a roach in my friends box...not kidding it ran out when she opened it and she still ate it bc the cookies are gas

It was a 7 out of 10. Nothing super special about them. A decent size not worth $12 for 6 ($2 each). Good service and liked that they were soft and warm in the middle. read more

Six small (about 2 1/2") cookies cost $16.00. They tasted like frozen cookie dough cookies from the grocery store. Terrible! Worst cookies I've ever had. Will never order from here again. Take my advice spend the money and order from Crumbl Cookies which are ridiculously expensive but are at least worth every penny. read more

The cookies are always amazing once you get thru the NON user friendly website! You can order cookies, have em all in your cart, then swap to see more cookies....and BAM your entire order disappears. I was all set FINALLY but then they texted me that my order was ready for "pick-up" DUDE IT WAS DELIVERY!!!!! Hate the website, love the product read more

The snickerdoodle was barely a sugar cookie, where's that cinnamon taste? I got a better snickerdoodle at Safeway. Then the price, my daughter wanted a cookie, so we got some, but pricey. Finally, no cash. Card or PayPal only. UnAmerican to me. read more

I just want to say that I've never gone into an establishment and been told that I couldn't purchase anything and give them my money. I really enjoy their cookies but will never be back. read more

Best cookies in town. Always warm and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the classic chocolate chip

Omg!!!! I had these for the first time last night and they were so yummy. I'll be on the treadmill at the gym for 3 hours since I ate 6 cookies but so so worth it. read more

I had Insomnia Cookies for the first time last night and one thing I know for sure; they take the word jumbo very seriously! I ordered a triple chocolate jumbo deluxe cookie and a chocolate peanut butter cup jumbo deluxe cookie. One cookie would have been more than enough. Their cookies are large, very thick and there was practically a whole large peanut butter cup in the cookie. They were also sweet and really good. My friend order a deluxe S'mores Bigwich. She offered a piece to me, unfortunately, I was too full to try it. She finished it off and was very happy with it. I also made a rookie mistake. I should have ordered the milk. LOL if you have the munchies and enjoy a late night sugar rush, give Insomnia Cookies a try but don't forget the milk. read more

This is the worst company to order delivery from. They take forever and by the time you get your order it will literally not matter anymore. I have experienced this not once but 3 times. Shame on me for always hoping they will get better. never again! If you are craving cookies make them from scratch. You will get them faster that way. read more

small cookies, bad service, mid ice cream, awkward atmosphere. gave me the wrong cookie and it taste ted bad with my mint ice cream.

staff was really cool. would recommend this place to anyone who's got a late night sweet tooth

My first time in the store today! The cookies were good, but the customer service was better. The young man working in the store this afternoon had major tech issues. He very patiently tried resetting and rebooting the system. After several minutes, he gave me a couple of cookies without charge so I could get going. I'll be back! read more

I love insomnia being so close to me cause I have a sweet tooth and can pick up instead of paying for delivery. I walk in tonight and was not even greeted before this guy is pretty much saying he is no longer taking in store orders because it was too much and too 'time consuming'. Helping your customers is too time consuming? Didn't even ask me if I had a pick up order, which I did. A group of people walked in after me and he did the same thing to them. I understand how good places can be busy and you can get overwhelmed as I have worked in food service before but be nice to your customers please. Makes me not want to go back here and order in store ever again. Cookies are bomb btw. read more
