I'm a frequent customer of Insomnia Cookies through DoorDash, ordering multiple times a week. Today my order arrived incomplete. The receipt on the box clearly indicated that there should have been two boxes, but only one box was delivered. Several cookies listed on the receipt were missing. What made it even more confusing was that the receipt itself appeared inconsistent, some of the cookies that were supposedly in the missing box were actually in the box I received, while others were simply missing altogether. I took photos of what was delivered and contacted DoorDash support. After spending around 45 minutes on the phone, I was told they could not help because Insomnia Cookies had not marked the order as complete in their system. So I called Insomnia Cookies directly, only to hear an automated message saying that if you ordered through DoorDash, you must contact DoorDash for help. So I ended up stuck in a loop between the two companies for over an hour with no resolution. The mistake itself is frustrating, but the bigger issue is the complete lack of accountability between the two companies. As a regular customer who spends money with both every week, this experience was disappointing enough that I'll likely take my business elsewhere. read more

Xavier was our cashier and he was incredibly helpful and patient with us Californians. The lady in the back even came out with trays of fresh cookies, greeted us with a big smile, and made the whole experience feel even sweeter. We couldn't make up our minds, and Xavier just laughed it off and helped us customize our box of six. We also didn't want the full two scoops of ice cream, so he offered to do one scoop. He also let us try some ice cream samples! Overall, amazing service and such a great visit. read more

For a place with lines sometimes out the door, you'd think the cookies would be unforgettable. They are -- but mostly because they're forgettable. The service is fine at best, indifferent at worst, and the cookies themselves taste like something you'd grab in a rush because everything else was closed. Except everything else isn't closed. There are plenty of better cookie spots that are just as quick and actually worth the calories. read more

Expected better! My friends and I were craving something sweet on a Friday night after our dinner and it was already past 12 in the night. Upon checking we found that this place was still open hence we decided to give it a try. The staff is very confused and a bit rude also. The two ladies working tonight were very friendly. Keep up the great work ladies. My man and I decided to stop in because we both had a sweet tooth. One of my favorite spots to get fresh warm cookies!!! So glad that they open late at night because sometimes when I'm out I want some cookies before going home! The staff is always so nice & helpful when you can't decide on what to get. The snickerdoodle is one of my all time favorites to get here and I ALWAYS have to get it. I've always been a crumble cookie fan, but my girlfriend is an avid insomnia cookie shopper, so I took it upon myself to order some via delivery. I ordered a box of 6 and as soon as I got the text that my order had arrived I was outside amd watched the driver walk into their car, they drove off and sent me a picture of my apt building door with address with no cookies in the picture... I called corporate reported it and they said they would send put another order and never did... the reason this is a 4 star review is because there was an employee by the name Xavier that went above and beyond reissued my order and when the order was delayed and I couldn't see the order on my app because it was a reissue order nevertheless stayed on the phone as it arrived!! 5 stars for Xavier and his amazing customer service. read more

Five star review based on service, location, and quality. Easy order, easy pickup, average pricing, and the young man went out of his way to help me. The cookies come in a box, but I needed a bag w/handles; so he scrounged up a reusable bag, which ensured my treats made it home intact. While delicious, the cookies were smaller than I expected. But shrinkflation is real, and I have no previous basis for comparison, as this was my first purchase ever. High prices. Low customer service. Be prepared to receive different cookies than what was ordered. Only 2 out of 12 were correct. This was a replacement for the previously noted order they screwed up. At 8p, corporate customer service said they are currently looking for a driver and they would text when my order was on the way. Emailed them again at 925p asking how long til they found a driver. Was told cookies were delivered at 848p. Photo shows where they were sitting for 37 minutes. No call, text, email, building door buzz, to tell me they were on the way or had arrived. So much for "warm" read more

You can always count on this place to open late for any of your sugar fix. We had ubereats and although our order took some time to come it was still fresh and good. We had a variety pack and got to try all the flavors. The star of the show was the double chocolate mint - we killed it real quick. After a night of chill drinking & you have a sweet craving, this is the spot. read more

Not sure what location. Ordered online in the morning for a 2:30 delivery. Called at 2:45 and was told the "door dasher" just left. Called at 3:15, got the same gal who was clearly irritated that I called a second time. Told her this order was for an event that is almost over. She couldn't care less. Then she called me and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I asked if she could find out where the order was and she scoffed! Told me they have no contact with the drivers. Got pissy with me and said: you have calked here twice. Good lord what a crappy attitude and very subpar service. They lost my business but I don't think she cared. read more

Stopped by insomnia cookies for some goodies. Walked in and it seemed the entire team was in the back chatting it up, 2 girls came right out with their masks on when I went in although I heard a man's voice yell " Hi. Can we help you?" from the back. Strange. I have never been here before so I did take a minute to order. I ended up with 5 cookie-wiches ( a scoop of ice cream smushed between 2 cookies). I also ordered extra cookies for the road. One rang me up while the other made my order. They were professional but didn't really bother to make any kind of small talk with me as it did take a minute to make all my sandwiches and I was the only one in there. Kinda awks. Got to the car and opened up my boxes. Dished out the cookie-wiches to everyone. The cookie was slightly warm. The ice cream was super generic. The extra cookies in the box were also slightly warm. Crispy around the outside of the cookie but still soft in the middle. The cookies were great. No "wow" factor anywhere in this visit to make it 5 stars but I did get what I came for. Good cookies, a late night treat. Ill might visit if I'm in the area again but I would not go out of my way to get here. I do think they are slightly overpriced. $2/cookie for just a regular size, regular flavored cookie. $40 for 2 dozen cookies. Wow. Local bakeries have 2 dozen for $10-$15 at the most. read more

I'm not sure who the evil force was behind creating a cookie place that stays open super late, bakes fresh cookies all night AND delivers...... but someone did it. What I do know is, the cookies are two things: fresh/warm and expensive. Especially if you start getting your cookies a la mode and adding toppings. Besides them being "fresh out the oven," there is nothing overly spectacular. read more

This place is so delicious! My friends and I decided to have dinner in Wicker Park, and rather than getting dessert at the restaurant we went to, we decided to come here instead. I am so glad we did! I just got oatmeal raisin cookies because I'm super picky with cookies and don't really have a sweet tooth, but they were amazing. I love that this place heats the cookies up before giving them to you because they are so fresh and soft. Goooooey! I dropped my cookie right out of the sleeve when I first got it, but the younger guy who was working was very nice and gave me another one no problem. I felt so bad, but he was super nice. Great customer service! Next time I come here, I definitely want to make an ice cream sandwich with the cookies. I wasn't too hungry when we came here, so I wouldn't have enjoyed it much if I ordered it. They also sell brownies here! I'll definitely be back here! read more

Super disappointed!! I used to love this place when the cookie comes out all warm and crunchy on the edges. Not sure what happened... Stopped by for a quick snack after drinking to what I thought would been a good idea. Which I still feel it was if only the cookie wasn't so hard! I got a cookie sandwich and it was hard, I didn't really enjoy it. Being that it is a cookie sandwich, might have been too much of a sugar rush because it was too sweet for me. I'm just really said the cookie wasn't to my liking. I recommend those to get cookies straight from the oven because that's the best ones. read more

If you are somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer size of cookies at other places like this, then Insomnia is the place for you. These cookies are much more in line with a "normal" smaller size cookie. They make them hot for you and so the chocolate was melty and yummy. You can also apparently get them delivered? That's cool! And they are open late. As for the cookie I had, I found it to just be ordinary. YMMV. read more

Really great cookies overall! I ordered a 50 pack with 5 cookies each of Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate Mint, Classic with M&M'S, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chip, Snickerdoodle, Sugar, White Chocolate Macadamia, and Gingerbread. Oooey! These cookies are nice and warm and gooey. Although I have a hunch of what clientele Insomnia Cookies are catering to (open until 3AM), I'm all about late night snacking. Insomnia Cookies is located at the heart of Wicker Park, and specializes in, well, cookies. BUT, they also have brownies and ice cream... and they deliver too! A stoner's dream! During my visit, they had a special -- buy 3 cookies, for $3. I went ahead and got the sugar cookie and snickerdoodle. Warm and gooey, the cookies were delicious! For better or for worse, next to each menu item, they give out caloric information. One cookie packs roughly ~250calories. You can get an ice cream sandwich, with cookies as the outer edge of the sandwich, but this health freak decided not to. Once winter comes, and its sweaters and jacket season, I'll come back and try one of them a la mode cookies. But regardless, the cookies are delicious. And for the price of 3 for $3, you can't beat them. read more

A fun addition to the Wicker Park neighborhood. The place is open late, and apparently delivers?! My friend and i stopped in around 9pm after a show to give this place a go. We didn't want to over-splurge so we agreed that we'll just get the cookies. She got the chocolate mint cookie and i got the deluxe s'mores cookie. They were still warm and gooey when i bit into it, not hard and dry like I would expect from a place this late at night. It was beyond delicious. I'll for sure be back to try the ice cream. Not only did they go above and beyond, but they made sure the cake was delivered the day of the party and on time. Monica at Skinny Pig not only made sure the cake was made properly but also added it to the delivery list to be delivered to the restaurant just enough time for my husband's birthday. I can't express how amazing Skinny Piggy is and how they went above and beyond for this experience. If you need a cake, just make sure you order a couple of days before the birthday. It's not like it's getting a discounted rate or anything you still get exactly what you paid for. I would rather a business just show different sizes and have kids size be a certain ounce. Not everyone wants 2 scoops of ice cream and you may just want 1. However, the ice cream here was worse than I remembered and not sure if it's how this location keeps the ice cream but I thought it should have been more creamy and smooth but this was more ice like. Not creamy like I had remembered. I got the Espresso Caramel chip flavor and was a bit disappointed that it's not the rich flavor I was expecting and had the tiny ice texture to it.
