I'm a frequent customer of Insomnia Cookies through DoorDash, ordering multiple times a week. Today my order arrived incomplete. The receipt on the box clearly indicated that there should have been two boxes, but only one box was delivered. Several cookies listed on the receipt were missing. What made it even more confusing was that the receipt itself appeared inconsistent, some of the cookies that were supposedly in the missing box were actually in the box I received, while others were simply missing altogether. I took photos of what was delivered and contacted DoorDash support. After spending around 45 minutes on the phone, I was told they could not help because Insomnia Cookies had not marked the order as complete in their system. So I called Insomnia Cookies directly, only to hear an automated message saying that if you ordered through DoorDash, you must contact DoorDash for help. So I ended up stuck in a loop between the two companies for over an hour with no resolution. The mistake itself is frustrating, but the bigger issue is the complete lack of accountability between the two companies. As a regular customer who spends money with both every week, this experience was disappointing enough that I'll likely take my business elsewhere. read more

Xavier was our cashier and he was incredibly helpful and patient with us Californians. The lady in the back even came out with trays of fresh cookies, greeted us with a big smile, and made the whole experience feel even sweeter. We couldn't make up our minds, and Xavier just laughed it off and helped us customize our box of six. We also didn't want the full two scoops of ice cream, so he offered to do one scoop. He also let us try some ice cream samples! Overall, amazing service and such a great visit. read more

I've always been a crumble cookie fan, but my girlfriend is an avid insomnia cookie shopper, so I took it upon myself to order some via delivery. I ordered a box of 6 and as soon as I got the text that my order had arrived I was outside amd watched the driver walk into their car, they drove off and sent me a picture of my apt building door with address with no cookies in the picture... I called corporate reported it and they said they would send put another order and never did... the reason this is a 4 star review is because there was an employee by the name Xavier that went above and beyond reissued my order and when the order was delayed and I couldn't see the order on my app because it was a reissue order nevertheless stayed on the phone as it arrived!! 5 stars for Xavier and his amazing customer service. read more

Stopped by insomnia cookies for some goodies. Walked in and it seemed the entire team was in the back chatting it up, 2 girls came right out with their masks on when I went in although I heard a man's voice yell " Hi. Can we help you?" from the back. Strange. I have never been here before so I did take a minute to order. I ended up with 5 cookie-wiches ( a scoop of ice cream smushed between 2 cookies). I also ordered extra cookies for the road. One rang me up while the other made my order. They were professional but didn't really bother to make any kind of small talk with me as it did take a minute to make all my sandwiches and I was the only one in there. Kinda awks. Got to the car and opened up my boxes. Dished out the cookie-wiches to everyone. The cookie was slightly warm. The ice cream was super generic. The extra cookies in the box were also slightly warm. Crispy around the outside of the cookie but still soft in the middle. The cookies were great. No "wow" factor anywhere in this visit to make it 5 stars but I did get what I came for. Good cookies, a late night treat. Ill might visit if I'm in the area again but I would not go out of my way to get here. I do think they are slightly overpriced. $2/cookie for just a regular size, regular flavored cookie. $40 for 2 dozen cookies. Wow. Local bakeries have 2 dozen for $10-$15 at the most. read more

This place is so delicious! My friends and I decided to have dinner in Wicker Park, and rather than getting dessert at the restaurant we went to, we decided to come here instead. I am so glad we did! I just got oatmeal raisin cookies because I'm super picky with cookies and don't really have a sweet tooth, but they were amazing. I love that this place heats the cookies up before giving them to you because they are so fresh and soft. Goooooey! I dropped my cookie right out of the sleeve when I first got it, but the younger guy who was working was very nice and gave me another one no problem. I felt so bad, but he was super nice. Super disappointed!! I used to love this place when the cookie comes out all warm and crunchy on the edges. Not sure what happened... Stopped by for a quick snack after drinking to what I thought would been a good idea. Which I still feel it was if only the cookie wasn't so hard! I got a cookie sandwich and it was hard, I didn't really enjoy it. Being that it is a cookie sandwich, might have been too much of a sugar rush because it was too sweet for me. If you are somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer size of cookies at other places like this, then Insomnia is the place for you. These cookies are much more in line with a "normal" smaller size cookie. They make them hot for you and so the chocolate was melty and yummy. You can also apparently get them delivered? That's cool! And they are open late.
