Only one type of gluten free cookie (that is also vegan) - chocolate chip, but there are a few more varieties that are just vegan (not gluten free). I can bake, but sometimes I just want someone else to do it. Insomnia cookies are always the perfect stage of softness and gooey-ness. Even the next day they're still scrumptious. Any later beyond that then I'm not sure why you didn't eat them all the first day... If only they would roll out more gluten free options! Are they pricey? I've been here a few times before and for what it is, it's so so good. The best part about the place is the fact that they are open till 3am! Today I went in and ordered a total of 6 cookies costing a total of $10.00 exactly (with tax). Personally thats a bit expensive for cookies I'd say but the fact that they're baked fresh, have a ton of different and fun flavors and just quick and easy makes up for...most of it. My personal favorite our their snicker-doodles. Probably the best I've ever had in my life. So soft, nice and warm and the best burst of flavor you can get out of a single cookie. They have other options besides cookies though....such as ice cream, drinks and maybe a few other small things that I'm missing but main focus on their COOKIES of course. Every time I've come here I've always got very nice customer service, very patient and helpful. Oh and before I forget, don't even get me started on the amazing, powerful smell of the place when you step foot though the doors. Okay so ending this review id say the only down side is it's a little pricey, but then again when I really think about it...it's worth it if you need a cookie and you don't have time to go to the store or make your own dough, get it perfect and wait for them to get done out of the oven. I was taken by surprise. A box of 24 Insomnia cookies was sitting on my front porch. Fedex Ground had delivered them. But mystery surrounded this delivery. The gift tag merely said "Merry Christmas." Did I have a secret admirer? Could it have been from my boss? Or was it a bribe for something yet to be asked for? I emailed Insomnia Cookies at 5:10 p.m. today asking for clarity about the situation... and 6 minutes later I received a well-written email response that provided the insight I was looking for. My childhood friend Bob and his wife sent me these! It was meant as a symbol of gratitude for a favor I had done for them. Well, it was a wonderful surprise to receive these cookies! :) The packaging is first-rate. (Excellent, high quality presentation.) And I happen to love cookies, so it was a great gift. I am also extremely impressed with the rapid email response I received from this company. And the email divulging the identity of my food benefactor was authored in a way that made the gift even more fun. Until now, I never thought of sending out cookies as a gift. The cookies were horrible. I ordered "The Usual" with six cookies and a pint of ice cream. My snickerdoodle cookie was as hard as a rock and tasted horrible. The chocolate chip M&M cookie was stale and hard which I could not finish. The peanut butter cookie fell apart at the touch and tasted like peanut butter out a jar. The chocolate chip cookies fell apart immediately and there was no cookie taste because it was over powered by the chocolate. We're a fan of Insomnia, but they are far from amazing. After a night of drinking in the area, we tend to stop by for a late night warm cookie and that's the major appeal of this place. It's open until I think 3:00 am. Whenever we're in there, we are joined by other alcoholics or some stoners, but this place delivers cookies as well. We've waited before for them to make a new batch of cookies and those ones are by far the best. The ones that have been sitting around in a warming bin are hit and miss. Quick update. I sadly ordered these again. I have little to no self control. Ordered over Labor Day weekend. No college kids around, no wait for cookies. And the cookie tracker worked like a charm! I ventured into this shop the other weekend after a night at the bar. The staff was really helpful and contacted a cab service for a friend and I. I appreciated how helpful they were. While we waited we tried some cookies. The 3 chocolate chunk was a large cookie and was pretty good. I also had a peanut butter cookie which was better than the chocolate one. Both seemed pretty average and not really worth the price. I would probably go back and try different flavors though. 3 stars for the cookies but 5 stars for customer service! I have slowly ruminated on the Insomnia Cookie concept since first moving to Philadelphia. I've delightfully crumbled cookies at every branch. As far as the Main Line location it has some work to do but hopefully they can live up to three stars with some effort. As far as overall environment the parking is disturbingly difficult and inside the bar stools seemed to have disappeared. I felt like my voice could echo inside. Don't expect to sit down or relax a little while sipping on some nice vitamin d milk and pulling a part a nice chocolaty, fresh cookie. You will have to grab, go, or lean. At most Insomnia Cookies, including this one, the milk selection is old fashioned. At a time when every local restaurant, coffee shop, gas station in the area carry almond, soy, and lactose free milk I feel cheated. I'm not sure if they carry glasses or cups but a plastic bottle of milk feels morally wrong. We need to be dunking our cookies here people! It's a classic combo like pizza and as far as I can see Insomnia isn't trying to break traditions or become progressive, so let's at least stick to what we know!! Amen. Additionally the cookies have a similar underlying taste and it's probably from some form of scent contamination. Starbucks is notorious for doing this. In the past SB have let mint brownies sit overnight next to peanut butter brownies which causes the transformation into mint-peanut butter tasting brownies! Walla! It seems to me Insomnia does similar things. Each cookie should be isolated within it's own compartment at their sales locations. Lastly the cookies are too soft and fall apart in your hand, this is not what I want to deal with on the run. The employees should ask if you prefer them warmed up and for how long (when it's not busy). A gooey cookie is smart for a large party because by the time they get to the party they will be perfect but for transactional customers you can't even pick up the cookie without it falling apart before you walk out the door. I like them warm but I also like to be able to pick them up and put them in my mouth without a spoon. It's always like this. It seems that Insomnia focuses on corporate gathering and catering more than individual customers. The 1 star is for the ice cream sandwiches. They work well if the cookies are slightly warm first so they don't get too hard from the ice cream but they don't warm them up for this :( read more

I had really high hopes for this place--the concept is genius--but unfortunately, I felt a little bit let down. After a late night of studying, my boyfriend and I came here for a snack, mostly because it was the only thing open at 1AM. The cookies looked absolutely stellar in the display. And the smell was intoxicating! We ordered four different flavors. Unfortunately, when I opened the lid to our box in the parking lot, half of the cookies were broken. It doesn't seem like the employee who was handling them gave any thought to it at all. Also, the (tiny) containers of milk they sell are $2.25 each! You could buy an entire gallon at Wawa for that price! Next time, I'll just buy a box of cookies and a gallon of milk to enjoy for the same price. I love the oatmeal raisin cookies and brownie topped with ice cream. The peanut butter chip is to die for! I've always gone mid-afternoon and never had issues with parking or service. The prices are high for cookies but I guess that is how they can keep those store hours. A very strategic move to open a door right on Villanova's campus and near just about every high school in the area. I am just grateful that is is near my parents' home...just so I can get freshly-baked cookies delivered to my door. No, it's not LeVain but it's good enough for those cravings that strike when I'm in Philly visiting the padres. The chocolate chunk is my fav and certainly the tried-and-true classic. There was chocolate chip, m&m and chocolate fudge flavors and they all seemed delicious. The outside of the cookies were crunchy, but the insides were so soft that they melted in your mouth.
