This location is HORRIBLE about service though the cookies are good. Their phone is always set to after hours and you can NEVER get a person during business hours. There are some real issues that need to be addressed at this location. I called the downtown GR location to inquire if Allendale was even open and she said she has received numerous calls regarding the lack of customer phone service for Allendale & really didn't know the status of the location and stated they have heard many complaints about Allendale. AlsoI have had an equal amount unpleasant experiences & good experiences with staff when visiting this location. If you are the owner or manager of the Allendale Insomnia then please whip this place into shape because your product is really good & the potential to be a great business exists! Edit: after not being able to reach any one via phone my daughter opted to drive out to this location and see if it was even open. It was. When told the phone is set to after hours the employee stated the phone isn't working and they never receive calls (duh). My daughter ordered and was told none of the 6 cookies she wanted were baked and she would have to wait 15 minutes. In the end, it took 30 minutes (which makes me think the oven was not even preheated). She headed home and when she got here they were all burnt on the bottom & of course tasted burnt. $25 wasted... Needless to say we will never be using this location ever again. We are equidistant between the GR and Allendale location. We usually choose Allendale for their accessibility. My advice - choose customer service (GR) over accessibility (Allendale) if you want great cookies and superb customer service. read more

It's surrounded by college town but everything we ordered was fresh and she offered to make it fresh if we didn't mind waiting if it wasn't. A trendy little cookie spot. read more

Cookies were nice and warm. Their advertisement for the Stroop waffle cookie got to me and I got one of those two and it did not disappoint.

The worker sighed when we walked into the door and was really mean. She took her gloves off to check us out but then did not put any back on. She threw the cookie across the counter and slammed down my ice cream which she got bare handed and scraped the freezer burnt sides of the tub. It made me sad. read more

This is the worst Insomnia location I've ever been to. They never have cookies ready, when you order them, they are cold and stale, and that's IF you can eat the college kid behind the counter to take yo ur order and not arbitrarily decide to shut down early. They have a variety of options here is what I chose: 2 M&M, Oatmeal Raisin, 2 peanut butter, and a sugar cookie. I would have to say that by far the Peanut Butter and the Oatmeal Raisin are my favorites! Perfect crispy edges with a soft center is exactly what you think of when it comes to cookies. One thing that keeps me from being 5 stars, price for product. Each cookie is over a dollar and yet the cookies resemble a cookie you would buy as already prepared in the freezer section of a store for you to take home and bake. Until I started speaking to her first, she didn't even look up she was talking to some guy leaning on the wall behind the counter. I chose the Sugar Rush pack (12 traditional cookies) for delivery. I ordered my cookies at 7:52 & they were at my door at 8:15pm. I was thinking it would've taken longer. The delivery driver was really nice. All of my cookies I picked were in the box, however they were not HOT. The cookies tasted fresh with a soft middle and crispy edges, but I'm shocked that they were not as warm as I was expecting. Still yummy, but they definitely remind me of subway cookies. I got the Snickerdoodle cookie and a peanut butter chocolate cookie and had cookies and cream ice cream put inside to make it a sandwich. If you want cookies you might as well make them at home. This specific store will either not answer the phone for 30 minutes as if they are def or just take 45 minutes to make your cookies. Legit called them in the parking lot and not a single employee answered the phone as I watched 6 workers in the store walk around and pick their ass. i went for cookies and they had the door locked at 8:30 with a little sign saying they would be back open at 9. so i waited for them to open and soon at 9:10 came around she took the sign down and changed the time to 9:30. without asking if i had ordered or anything just looked at me with a disgusted look. i am very disappointed and if it doesn't change they will be losing a lot of costumers such as the 25 people that walked up to the door trying to get cookies in a 30 minute window. read more

After loving insomnia cookies and always craving them, I decided to go stop in the store on my way back with my emotional support animal. I've taken my dog everywhere with her vest and ID on (including restaurants, hotels, ice cream shops, etc) and have never had an issue. When opening the door I didn't get a friendly greeting because they eyed my dog immediately. They proceeded with the "no dogs allowed" speech and after I told them she's an emotional support animal, I still got rejected. I asked them if they would like to see her ID or any certification and they rejected and said she still was not allowed. I was getting mad at this point because they neglected to show any rule that showed emotional support animals weren't allowed so I said "can I place an order or do I have to leave?" And the girl at the counter after talking to her boss said "well you're obviously not going to leave and I can't force you out of the door so I guess you can".
