Great, great establishment. From the time that I requested a quote on Yelp (sent one to 4 different home inspectors), Insight Property Services was the 1st to respond. Bravo. While not the most or the least expensive by $50-$70 or so, I had read the most positive reviews online for them so I decided a few extra dollars was worth a quality experience, especially in preparation for the large investment I was about to make in buying a new home. I was not at all disappointed. Ann who scheduled my appointment was delightful, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I received an email confirmation as soon as I booked the inspections as well as an email the day before as a reminder. She congratulated me on buying a home and welcomed me to the neighborhood. Tom Janczak, our inspector, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Professional and friendly, he spent 3 hours or so, diligently combing the inside and outside of the home without a moments rest. He provided an initial outline of what to expect of him, as well as updates every 45 minutes to an hour so that we, the buyers, understood how things were progressing and always felt in the know throughout the whole process. We were invited to follow and observe him the whole time as well. His verbal summary was very detailed but easy to understand. He has the ability to explain to a non expert, like myself, the severity of things in order to draw your attention to what's most important and even put things into context for you, for example -- for us, recommendations and precautions related to child hazards, knowing that we had a young child. His report was extremely detailed and thorough, arrived less than two days later on a Sunday, and was complete with excellent pictures and easy to understand descriptions and recommendations. We also had a radon test conducted the day of the home inspection. Steve was efficient, informative and friendly. His report came back in a timely fashion and was clear cut, and easy to understand. We did a lot of research on who we should use for our inspection. Insight was the only company who had outstanding reviews. The day we had our inspection it snowed, so Tom was a little late. Which is 100% understandable. Being late did not stop him from getting right down to business. He was at our house for a little over 4 hours. He was able to provide us a report that was so descriptive that we were able to completely follow and understand what it said. Tom also took the time to tell us what was major concerns and things that could be changed down the road. It was important to us to have someone who was patient because we don't know a lot of the terms or urgency of somethings that are brought up. Tom didn't fail us. He even took his shoes off because it was snowing and brought a second pair so he didn't drag water across the floor. We would recommend anyone who needs an inspection to Insight. Insight Property Services was recommended by another inspection service, who was recommended by our realtor. ( the first inspection company does not venture past a certain point in Dupage county. We are counting this as one of those "lucky" turnabouts, as I called Joe, from Insight, he was very helpful. We needed it done ASAP, and although Joe had previous commitments, he assured me that his partner, Tom would be able to do the inspection. Tom arrived promptly at the property, got right to work on the outside and finished the inspection within the time frame they had given us. The report was concise, and easily readable. We received it in the exact timeframe promised. Also, Tom went over everything with myself and my realtor after he finished the inspection. I can say, without reserve, that I will recommend their services to anyone in need. We are completely satisfied with their work and report. This is a fantastic service. I hired Insight Property Services to do an energy audit of my house. I knew there were a lot of things I could do to improve the energy efficiency of the house, but that I likely could not afford all of them. I wanted a prioritized list of problems with the house, and that is exactly what I got. The house is about 40 years old, drafty, freezing floors, smelly crawlspace. Joe and his crew did a thorough inspection, spending about 4 hours in the house. Joe is extremely knowledgeable and seems to love his work and love educating his clients. Joe's report makes recommendations on how to mitigate each problem. I shared the report with the three insulation companies I called for estimates to do the work. This made communication and comparison easy. The price of the inspection includes a re-inspection so Joe can show the client whether the work done has addressed the problem. I learned a ton from Joe and think this was money well spent. Wish I had done it sooner. read more

We hired IPS to do a thermal scan of our home during the COVID-19 Pandemic. They did the inspection in a respectful and responsible manner. Joe wore a mask and "social distanced" the entire time he was in our home. The purpose of the scan was to validate a project we had planned in order to fix structural defects in our dormer windows. We got a lot more out of the scans than originally planned and Joe's knowledge proved a tremendous value. He explained the results of the scan in a logical and easy to understand manner and gave us lots of suggestions on how to improve our home. Joe used the results of the scan to pinpoint other issues that were the main contributors to the problem. As a result we did not have to do a $5,000 project to reconstruct our dormers, instead we were able to use his suggestions and fix the structural issues for less than $500. My fiancé and me are purchasing our very first home and had to find an inspector within that first week. As I shopped around, insight popped up. As I gave them a call they were so great! They communicated well and immediately helped me. I even asked to get the direct number of my inspector so I can talk to him. Tom, was fantastic and contacted me back within 5 minutes of calling him. I'm a girl who asks a lot of questions and he answered them all. On the day of the inspection he was at it full force. He was on the roof, taking photos of everything. Had such a great experience with Insight and highly would recommend them. I called on Tuesday last week and was able to set an appt for 2 days later for an inspection. Ann who was in customer service was very nice and helpful. Day of inspection I received a call to notify me that he was arriving to the house, from Dave Brauer who was my scheduled inspector. Once I arrived Dave was very insightful on what he seen as well as solutions or suggestions. He was very thorough and overall friendly, informative and descriptive which is key for an inspection.
