If a quick summary jump to the bottom.
Inside out is has a very nice atmosphere. It is clean, nice lay out, and is welcoming. I came here to go into equipment classes. However they do have a mandatory 2 personal training sessions prior to you being aloud to take the lessons. I was told these were to familiarize yourself with the machines, so when the time came to be in group classes you would be comfortable and confident in your ability to adjust and use the equipment by your self. To me this makes complete sense. Obviously no one wants to go into a class completely unprepared. I have taken pilates classes before and enjoyed ( in LA), hence why i came here to fill my need for a good workout. However during these two introductory lessons i realized this is not the place for me at all.
My first private lesson was with a very nice woman she showed me one machine ( out of 4 or 5) put me through a very unimpressive, workout where i didn't sweat, feel any thing, or learn much if nothing about the machines. Already unimpressed. But maybe the fist lesson is to just see your strength and to estimate what classes would be good for you.
The second lesson was with a different woman. She was also pleasant however although she brought me to a different machine as the first again i felt nothing. I made sure at the begining of the lesson that i would like a very hard core workout. I had paid for a training session and i expected to get one. Unfortunately this did not happen. Again i was put through a very mediocre routine where i felt nothing. This teacher as well taught me little to NOTHING about the machines. When she asked where i had felt the work out at the end i had to be honest and tell her no where i had felt nothing. She told me that it was because i was inexperienced and i wasn't doing it properly. But after a bunch more private lessons i might start to feel it.
Through the workout out i had was asking what to do with the machines and how to use them because again this is what i was told these 2 lessons were for. At the end i asked what level classes she would recommend ( because i only took these private ones so i would be able to do group classes). She informed me that i probably wasn't ready for them because i didn't know the machinery and equipment well enough yet, that i should book more private lessons with her, and also buy a pack for possibly some floor classes, but should make sure to "sprinkle" plenty of her private lessons within them. This honestly made me quite mad. I had given them my money for something very specific and they essentially informed me they did not provide me with what i paid for. i walked away and doubt i will ever be back .
To sum this up:
This location is nice, clean, and welcoming. If you are more mature in age, or have been injured I'm sure this place would be wonderful for you. However anyone who wants a good workout i would not suggest the private classes or trying to go onto the equipment classes. If there private lessons were any representation of there classes you won't be feeling much, so don't waste your money. I can't speak for the floor classes. But based on my experience they are money grubbing and i don't appreciate businesses that try and get more money out of you for something that you already payed for. read more
