I decided to have my daughter attend because she has traveled to most places in the US and to my home land the last couple of years. I wanted COVID to be a positive experience and not coup her up in the house. Since attending DLEC my daughter has learned her basic education her cousins are learning in Kindergarten. My daughter learned so much and worth the experience. I travel from Seatac and sometimes Auburn to drop off and pick her up but it's so worth it. She has even got accepted into her local school without testing to join kindergarten when she turns 4. I'm glad to have her start her education very young. Everyone thinks she's very smart and a fast learner, visually and physically. Also her social skills has improved so much. She's not shy around people and communicate with those when spoken too. Thanks to all the staff for making her beginning education experience so much fun and challenging during these tough time in our lives. I appreciate very single staff!

They made accessing Treehouse resources easy and also gave us great information on resources outside of Treehouse. The staff are incredibly dedicated and passionate about what they do. Treehouse offers many services to help foster kids have a more stable and normal life. From tutoring and college preparation, to school supplies and clothing, to after school care and summer activities, Treehouse improves the lives of thousands of foster kids and helps meets economic needs that foster parents sometimes cannot. Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. It was a fulfilling and heartwarming day of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the services this organization provides or suggest it as a nonprofit worthy of your support. Ms. Patricia is the real deal and what you see is what you get. She is a breath of fresh air and we only hope that her courses are around for a very long time. The etiquette course is something that seems naturally intuitive; HOWEVER, while family values are definitely instilled at home, unfortunately, it is not something that is a universal language in the community. It's nice for kids to be able to come to a place where this is celebrated. Highly recommend!!

When my daughter started daycare I was afraid that she would hate it, because she spoke only Russian. But all teachers were very friendly, caring and helpful. Slowly she began to build up her English vocabulary. Now she can easily speak English and understands even more. Location of SELC is great! They use Whale tail park and Alki beach as a playground (they have their own too). They play outside twice a day which is so good for kids! Regina (the owner) is a wonderful person! The program provides visual aids that are very helpful for me, the courses goes at my own personal pace and there are reviews of previous lessons to assure that I have not forgotten what I have learned. I am thrilled with all the progress I have made. On-line classes through Skype are great, I can learn from the privacy of my own home, there is no commuting involved and they are flexible with days and time. Adria came to us at the end of last school year. My daughter was so lost in her Spanish classes…read moreand needed some one on one. Once Adria understood my daughter's learning style they took off. We threw math into the sessions as well. Adria was flexible and understanding and actually advocated for my daughter with one of her teachers. In the end my daughter had a 99% in Spanish at the end of this school year. Adrian is young and cool and interesting so high school students enjoy spending time with her.
