Rob Sivret's bartending training is not a bartending
class ...
... it's a cognitive perception training.
Rob Sivret's bartending training distinguishes itself from
bartending classes in that it doesn't teach you how
to make drinks.
It teaches you how to present yourself, how to
approach bartending from the mental perspective
necessary for you to become a working bartender
using drinks as means to express what bartending
is really about.
Your tools are over 30 drinks which you learn in
a way that is incredibly effective , fun and quick.
In just 4 days you are basically making 30 drinks
that if you try to learn by memory you won't be able
to do.
That's the approach that most classes take , to have
you memorize sequences of ingredients and that's
as far as they go.
Rob Sivret gets you to learn a good amount of drinks ,
but more important than that is that he teaches
you a method that you can apply to any drink ,
which you will need in the real world since every
bar out there will have their house cocktails , which
you learn very fast by implementing this method.
Also , he teaches you interview techniques that
allow you to present yourself in a compelling way,
in a way that even if you have no experience you
can start having some rookie shifts at some big
bar , fact that you can utilize to present yourself
at some other bar and get more and more
and more shifts.
I hadn't bartended for about 2 years before
taking his class , but after it , my confidence
to look for places skyrocketed and I got
hired at an established nice bar in Redmond.
The most important aspect of this class is not the
amont of drinks you learn , is the shift
of your mental paradigm , not only you
end the class knowing 30 + drinks , you
are equipped with a method to learn house drinks
and to get yourself a job with the interview and
job hunting techniques you are taught by him,
plus proper ways to handle muddlers , strainers
and tins .
Rob Sivret has a tremendous amount of experience
and knows what he is talking about , he also knows
how to make classics in ways that will impress
managers at bars you will be applying for.
I had been a bartender for about 10 years on and off
before his class and it help me a lot , it taught me
a lot , it is well worth your money.
To get in this industry you will have to do some
work and it can feel discouraging, Rob doesn't promise
you a job at the end of your class , he not only
promises but also delivers a great method to
get yourself in the industry if you do your
job , forget about the drinks for a minute because
that is not what bartending is about , Rob teaches
you what bartending is about which he does in such
a great way that just words can not describe , take it
from a guy who has been bartending since 2006.
Currently I am a wine/beer and craft cocktail bartender
for a big Restaurant project in Bellevue that is about to
start in January and many things I learned on my own
but some of the things I learned from Rob in terms
of mindset and presentation allowed me to be compelling
enough for the owner of this multimillion dollar
project himself to call me up and personally offer me
a job.
Taking this class will not promise to get you a job
and won't make you a drink maker , if that is what
you want everyone out there is doing that , but if what
you want is to become a working bartender , reality
is that you won't become so by taking a class ,
however , you can get a mental blueprint and
a strategy from the proper training that if you work
it out on your own, will get you there for sure ,
and Rob's training is by far , the best training in Seattle
for that to happen.
