I've used Inside Moves 21 times (so far). The most difficult move was moving a short distance to a house that was 1/3 the size of my original house, AND not having enough time to pack. Ted sent a crew over the day before the move and they PACKED UP MY HOME. I just couldn't get it all done on my own. The other two adults in the house were older and couldn't help. They came the next day to move stuff. First they moved the things that needed to go to the new house - this took all day. They came back the next morning to move all the items I needed to put into storage. Then they came back to my old house again and picked up all the things that needed to go to Goodwill. They took everything to Goodwill and mailed me the donation receipt. This was like having a bunch of husbands helping me get stuff done. I was SO grateful for the help and the emotional support; I was so overwhelmed. I found Inside Moves when I needed help moving my son to his first apartment, and I've been calling on them every since for another move for my son, for taking furniture I was giving away to friends of my mom or to my sisters place. Helping my daughter move 9 times for school and work. Helping my sister move 6 times. When I hire Inside Moves, I know what I'm getting and I know approximately what the cost is (unless we go into extra hours, which happened several times). Ted and team were absolutely a pleasure from start to finish. I have no complaints on service or the team. They were careful quick and really invested in providing great service start to finish. Ted was great. Communicative thorough, patient and wonderful to deal with. The one minor suggestion that i have is not to over estimate that cost of the job as much as ted does. I certainly understand that it's better to over estimate rather than underbid and have to raise prices at the end of the job. Rather than what happened which was a high estimate followed by an actual price that was probably less than his competitors. The pricing ted gives is certainly not the least expensive and we were pleasantly surprised by the actual dollar amt of the job at the end of the day. Im jot sure its possible to give a truer estimate in all cases, and I understand that most customers might underestimate how complex moving is but i have to say dont be scared or shocked by ted's initial estimate. Based on the referral of a family member who is very discerning, I recently utilized Inside Moves for my long distance move. They were able to book me immediately and without requiring a deposit or a hard commitment. I did not need to adjust the date and time of my move but I appreciated the option without an additional cost since I was waiting on my new home build to be completed. The men facilitating my move were professional and generally efficient. They appeared to work well as a team and although I understand there to be a foreman who oversees the move, they all worked together to ensure we moved forward in a timely manner. I appreciated that my move was wrapped at a reasonable time (roughly end of the business day) even with an hour and forty minute drive to the new property. If you exclude the drive to the new property, the overall time spent moving was just over five hours to move my two bedroom apartment into my new house. Worth noting, I was moving out of an apartment on the second floor of a Hollywood complex with a small elevator and limited room to maneuver. Both Ted and Melanie ensured they followed up post move to gather feedback and ensure my happiness and satisfaction as a customer. Most companies do not follow-up and I think that concierge customer service is becoming a feature of the past so it was really lovely to experience. read more

Wow... Ted Cotter and his crew are amazing! I purchased a piano... Yes I know, a piano, without thinking it all through.. and was just so excited to bring an instrument back into my life, I completely forgot about how I'd actually get it across the valley and to my house. With a referral from a friend, I called Inside Moves and spoke with Ted. He gave me a great price. I told him my schedule was pretty flexible. He even coordinated the pick up with the owner of the piano. (Another thing I forgot had to happen LOL) They know their stuff! On the day of the move, the driver called me when he was near my house. The guys were so professional and friendly. The piano was wrapped up with moving blankets and protective wrap. (Lord knows I wouldn't have put that much care and effort into it had I done the move myself) The guys put on foot coverings before coming inside my house. They even removed and screwed back on the music stand, which was wrapped separately during transport. The move was so smooth, the guys were so professional, Ted was incredibly friendly.. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company for moving services. I got the impression that the owner chooses profits over integrity. They came recommended to us from a loved a trusted source so we hired them for a recent move despite the used car salesman vibe we got during the estimate. They over promised and underdelivered. They committed to having a 6 person crew on the day of our move but the 6th person "called in sick" the day of. Which led to several hours of 'overtime pay.' We called the owner to see if he would work with us on pricing and charge the high end of what his estimate was, and he said, "fine if you want to take food from my family's table." We insisted on paying full price at that point as a matter of principle. We called several times afterwards to report damage to some of our belongings from the move but they never answered or got back to us. We are pretty disappointed in our experience with this company. read more

Inside moves did a great job doing to heavy lifting. The guys did a great job even though we, ourselves were not ready. They did a lot of boxing on the fly. Something got damaged, I notified the owner within 24 hours after the move. He already had someone to adjust it within 48 hours and it was repaired. Things happen. My recent experience with Inside Moves was absolutely first class. Ted and Melanie were fabulous when it came to scheduling, planning, an confirming the details of my move, and the 3-person crew who helped me move from a duplex in which I'd lived for 8 years (and had accumulated quite a ton of stuff!) into a second story fourplex was absolutely outstanding. They were all incredibly kind, arrived promptly, and were machine-like in their efficiency - what had taken me days to pack into boxes was carried out to their truck in what felt like the blink of an eye, and they even helped me pack up loose artwork (which fit perfectly and safely into wardrobe boxes), which I had anticipated I'd need to return for as multiple separate carloads on my own (I'd figured they'd be too difficult and piecemeal to take along with the truckload of boxes, and was delighted to have the team find such a clever solution!). They were incredibly careful and thoughtful when unloading everything, and hand-carried everything up the stairs to my new apartment, noting that they didn't want to use a dolly and inadvertently harm the original hardwood floors of the historic building. Moving is inherently stressful, and Inside Moves made the physical process as seamless and easy as humanly possible (and their pricing was super reasonable on top of everything) - I can't recommend them highly enough, and my family and friends will definitely use them for any future moves! read more

We are so glad we selected these movers! Inside Moves Relocation is by far the best moving company in Los Angeles. These guys are professional movers who do the job right. We had a fantastic, stress free move. Ted and his crew are professional and friendly. We purchased a new construction home and were very stressed about the move. We have honed marble floors and pretty big furniture. We wanted to make sure the movers would listen to our needs and concerns about our floor and our wood stairs ( we were scared the furniture would scratch the floors and the stairs). Ted's guys came down, packed our fine China carefully, and made sure to plastic wrap the mattresses and even had big blankets for the some of the fragile items like our TV. They even had extra boxes for us. Within a few hours they loaded the items and unloaded our furniture in our new location with the utmost care. These guys are the real deal. Giving a 4 star rating because sophisticated readers will discard 5 star and 1 star- so 4 is really the best that can be given that will actually be read. (See article in 10/1/19 WSJ on ratings-although about products gives good guidance). I am a professional and was certain this would be a terrible event (moving from home of 46 yrs.). I was suspicious, and wary-this group of gentlemen are the very best each one had what could be describe as good character. They were kind, understanding, and reasonably priced. Our initial quote was for 2 days, and it actually took 3days, yet the price was approximately $1000 less than the original quote by Ted (fabulous person, someone you want to know maybe have over for the Holidays). I was fortunate enough to have Robert assigned to my crew (everyone was wonderful), Robert set the tone was a fabulous. Even when I would subsequently decide a heavy chest was in the wrong place. No scowls or judgements. We are still working with Tony- who will hang you art and TVs. These guys made what I anticipated would be a horrible event- fabulous (remarkable to say that about this move but true). And, oh they packed me also- they can pack you better than you can and I had the bubble wrap, moving paper, and boxes (more than 60), blue and green masking tape. They did a better job by far, and they are fast. The third day involved moving my massive garden/pool furniture and potted plants which took up an entire truck. I can not give them a higher recommendation- outstanding. I just noticed the pictures and negative review. All I can say is if you have a random shoe in your things how would they know it has intrinsic importance? (Illan B.'s comments). Probably the first thing to note is that Jay came out to do an in person review and estimate of the cost and resources needed to do the packing and loading of our containers. He even assured us that the number of containers we had would be adequate for our move. (Most other packers would only do an "over the phone" estimate based upon what we said which gave me no confidence at all!) Then, Robert came and led the team to successfully pack our stuff (day 1) and load into the containers (day 2). He packed the containers assuring us that they would be within the weight limits and everything would fit. Indeed it did! They came in under budget and under time! When we first hired this company, we went thru the house with the business owner and thought it was understood how important many items were to us and we were reassured that we would be getting quality service. And we originally gave this company a 5 star review based on what we thought was a job well done. Well, lesson learned here. Sometimes you have to wait for the finished product and boy a hard lesson it is. Now mind you, we understand that you take your chances when you move, but when someone claims they know what they and their crew are doing and even allowing for human error, manage to do exactly the opposite of what was agreed on then their is an issue, especially when the company answers your complaint with the following "As to having movers sort and decide what was important to you, that's not what movers do. Movers are not responsible for hanging clothes in wardrobes that are not on hangers. If clothes were in not on hangers, they went in boxes. I'm sorry you feel your goods didn't receive the respect they should, but our job was to contain and move. Not clean, not sort, not put things away. We had no choice but to pack what was there as is."-- Ted Cotter. So they had no choice but to pack things as is? They had a choice to tell us this in the beginning not after the fact and What happened to full disclosure perhaps something in writing "We reserve the right to pack things the way we deem fit like it or not"? He knows had he fully disclosed the true score before taking our business he probably would not have gotten it.
