I've never been to Morocco, but I did live for a while in Granada, a city in the South of Spain just accross the Alboran Sea from Morocco, which shares a similar moorish heritage to Morocco. The nicknacks and trinkets in Inside Morocco bring back fond memories for me and I am a sucker for all things foreign. I am especially fond of the brightly coloured and geometrically patterned mosaic tables and fountains which Inside Morocco stocks. I also love the massive lanterns and intricate decorative vases and would probably buy one, if I only had anywhere to put it. In addition to the wonderfully fantastic, but perhaps not so useful, Inside Morocco also stocks a number of products suited to the more practically minded. Tangines, perfect for slow cooking, teapots, cups, plates, chairs etc all with a moroccan feel. There are also a number of small and affordable intems suitable for gifts.

Now boys and girls, who knew "panacea" means to "cure all"?…read moreThat is the perfect description for the warming, hearty spanish inspired meals served up from a daily changing specials menu and regular pizza and tapas fare here. Sit amongst birds nest lighting, green walls and in uncomfortable plastic chairs while you watch a chaotic open kitchen steam, clang and heat up inside or take a leisurely look down your nose at passers by as you sip your red wine and nibble tapas under big white umbrellas in the summer breeze outside. Crispy BBQ quail, simple warmed olives and baked gnocchi are all you really need to look at but there is a very long menu for those who like to feel they have choice. Note thought that this is one of those places where you need to probably allow sharing plate minimum per person though if you want to be full at the end of the night. Very strong Moroccan, Spanish and meat based flavours engulf most dishes here and you will get rich flavours like goats cheese, marinated herbs and plenty of salt coming through with most dishes - but it is worth it. Service is hilariously attentive - I have had 2 people serving my table all 3 times I have been to date. And waitered service like that is normally a lot more expensive in Adelaide now-days. It really makes you feel special and enhances the experience of "being amongst it" where you are literally next to the open kitchen if you are in the main area. If you don't fancy flashing the AMEX card then dine here with the suits and ties or stockings and slippers (very few of those) for lunch and dinner from 12-6pm Monday to Thursday for half price pizzas and jugs of sangria - bargain!

Not only did we receive 25% off our bill using the check in feature on the Yelp app, but the red sangria was absolutely delicious. No cheap nasty wine was used and had an authentic Spanish taste. We ordered the pate entree to share and we're impressed at the very generous serving. The flavour was perfect and just enough to keep us going until our later Dinner. The service was good. However when we arrived we were the only ones there. Although friendly, it wasn't above and beyond. It would be good to see how they fare when the restaurant was a little busier. Will definitely return to try the full menu and for more sangria. If you have not already been, now's the time - especially with the current Yelp offer which will make that sangria extra sweet and soul soothing.

A taste of Morocco in down town Adelaide…read more Taste of Marrakech in Adelaide Central Market has been delighting our senses for a few years now. I love the shelves laden with jar after jar of freshly preserved lemons. Enticingly richly coloured spices including the all important base for Moroccan cuisine ras el hanout , cook books and Moroccan culinary aids aim to have us recreating the tastes of Marrakech at home. You can also get the low down on how to make authentic tagines or Moroccan mint tea from the wonderfully generous staff. However if like me you are tempted by the ready prepared, you will be in seventh heaven. It is very hard to walk by and not be swayed by the gorgeous earthenware bowls crammed with dips glistening with olive oil, olives, the freshest salads or bite sized kofta. Sit yourself at the candle lit mini bar (seats 4-6) colourfully tiled with what else but Moroccan tiles and enjoy a tasting plate for lunch of an early Friday night dinner. Close your eyes for a second and be transported to a far away land, take a deep breath and smell the spices of a desert country. Remember if you have a too bountiful lemon tree donate them to Taste of Marrakech and they could soon be preserved and adorning this market stall's shelves tantalising all passers by with dreams of exotic North Africa.

They had a small tasting plate, with slices of turkish bread and a number of dips and chili sauce to try. I decided to have a go, considering I didn't have much else to do. It literally blew my mind. Taste of Marrakech has only been in existence since the beginning of this year and it is a welcome addition to the market community. Specializing in Morroccan cuisine, Taste of Marrakech stocks a broad variety of fresh and exotic spices, such as sumac, dry harrissa and rasel hanout which sit elegantly in large tubs and have a great aesthetic appeal and an iccredible aroma. In addition, Taste of Marrakesh has some incredible dips and the aforementioned chili sauce, perhaps the best in the land, as well as prepared meals to be cooked at home.

Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

You couldn't add Kale even though one dish had it and the outdoor area had a strong bad smell. Still the coffee was great and the juice and food was good. The inside is cute with some table seating inside and outside. It's next to what I belive is a creative office where the cafe and the office is divided with a fence. There's also another section at the back with a galley. The latte here is all right. They seem to have some food menu as well along with pastries. The place is cute but definitely needs to be air conditioned to stay long. It's like a garage that's open with no doors so it let's in all that 40C heat. Coffee is amazing and will try a long black next time to fully appreciate the full flavour. Short black may bounce me off the wall! The big roller door is the 'front door', wonder how will it work in the colder months but for now it is fantastic! The Parade West may be and could be a busy thoroughfare but I hardly notice it being a Monday morning. The deco overall is minimalist with 2 separate dinning areas, the back area is nice and quiet if you wish to 'work'. Food wise, there are bagels, brownies, melting moments etc but the choice is limited, I didn't see any food menu on the counter but I noticed there's a sandwich press and toaster. I am sure if you'd ask, they will tell you what they have to offer. All coffees are double roasted. Great place to be if you want to avoid the 'crowd' of the Parade. There are heaps of offices in the precinct and with great coffees they will do well!
