This is seriously the best Italian restaurant in Riverhead. We stopped in for brunch on Sunday and ordered off of the dinner menu. The owner clearly knows what he's doing in the kitchen and it is hands-down, the best Pappardelli and seafood we've had so far... Portions are good size and prices are fair. Interior decor is beautiful highly recommend coming, as you will not be disappointed.. looking forward to coming back for dinner train the Osso Buco and sampling the wine list. Tried them again last month. Bartender raved about the chef's homemade lasagna. Took about an hour on a Saturday night to get served where the place was maybe half full at best. And even with that, was served lukewarm. Sent back to warm up further and still came out lukewarm. Comped us Caesar salad for the mishap which was nicely cheesed but no dressing. We went in around 3 pm so it wasn't too busy. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant is very clean. We were seated quickly and the server was attentive! We ordered a Small Chicken Francese, a small Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo, Fried Calamari and a large spaghetti and meatballs. For dessert we had the deconstructed cannoli. The calamari was fantastic, but everything else was just ok. Spaghetti sauce was under seasoned, the cannoli was soft. For the insane prices you'd expect quality wise for the meals to stand out compared to the average pizza place. Don't think we'll be back. read more

Chef Marco and the entire Insatiable Eats staff took great care of my family when we had our grandmother's post-funeral lunch here. Though he typically doesn't work Tuesday lunches, Chef Marco went out of his way to not only be here for the party, but to have veal chops in stock for my uncle who was really in the mood for one. He worked with my parents to create a package that included a platter of appetizers with vegetarian and meat and fish options that made everyone in our large party happy, with the flexibility for everyone to order their own entrée. Service was impeccable, we all felt well taken care of and enjoyed everything we ate here. The bar staff even let my dad take a look at all the wine options they had behind the bar to select options that would make everyone happy. Hosting a gathering during a loss is difficult, and I'm grateful that Chef Marco and his staff worked as hard as they did to make things a little easier on us all. read more

My parents loved this place at first, then I bought them a $300 gift card ON THEIR WEBSITE( contact*gift card*Clover site(gift cards or online ordering). They DENY having gift cards and claimed to not know where the funds are or that they received them. My poor elderly parents were turned away when this had been one of their favorite restaurants that they spend a lot of money ordering from since this location opened in Riverhead. I'm going to have to go through the credit card company to dispute this charge because they are so dishonorable. How do you deny having gift cards when you offer then on your own website? read more

We had dinner at Insatiable Eats in Riverhead. . Stella ( the bartender) made an excellent cocktail for my husband. Julio was our server he was outstanding and so funny. The food was delicious we had appetizers of calamari and baked clams Soo good. My daughter had the chicken parmigiana and my husband had the veal parmigiana. Both very tender and very tasty. I had rigatoni alla vodka(Excellent!!!!) We ordered the 1/2 size and we all bought home leftovers , portions very large. We met Marco the chef and his lovely wife Sheila such wonderful people . Great, fresh pasta. So much potential. But, dinner for two adults and 4 kids was $350 which is quite pricey for what should be a family Italian. Why so pricey? -Wine list quite limited, not unique or interesting for Italian, and pricey $75 for the one Chianti Ruffino we had -Apps such as the Fritto Misto at $36 very expensive -No option for kids portions or kids menu so children have to order full price entrees. -$75 for a pasta tasting (which we did not order) is super high We did have a lovely time and enjoyed our food. The service was quite friendly We'd love to see them succeed as this is quite an important venture for downtown Riverhead. It's a very odd name "Insatiable Eats" and also a slightly strange atmosphere in that it seemed all open kitchen but no one was in the kitchen. This was our second dinner at Insatiable Eats within one week and let's just say WOW! Julio was so attentive and provided the perfect amount of service and attentiveness yet was always there for us. The eggplant parmigiana (which I got 2x now) was so delicious. Penne with Pesto and chicken was so tasty and creamy. Margaritas were the best we ever had, definitely a great experience. The ambience takes me back to my trip to Salerno years ago. Don't pass this place by, you won't get better Italian flavor anywhere else in Riverhead! Second time here and the food is amazing! I enjoyed dinner with a group of ladies and we all were very impressed. The staff all the way down to the cappuccino was great! I went there by myself while on business last month and then suggested the work group that was traveling go there. It was a Monday night so getting a reservation for 6 was easy. First things first - the food is very good. What I really wanted to give them was a 3.5 stars because they don't go above and beyond on service. One example: We ordered the Gnocci Fritti which was great - however it had 5 pieces of the fried bread and there were 6 of us. I asked for more of the bread. The guy serving us said the kitchen "yelled at him" for asking. Any place that is charging this kind of money, would have asked if we wanted extra bread when they took the order. That takes me to the second item - they are expensive. With a reasonable tip, it was $500 for 6 of us (consisted of 6 entrees, 2 appetizers and 2 drinks per person). Appetizers are well into the $20 range each and entrees well into the $30s per. I had the Gnocci with gorgonzola sauce and it was really good. Everyone loved their meal but sheesh - i have much higher expectations when you charge me that much money. The location is good but 4 restaurants have failed there over the last 4 years. I don't see it filled up during the week like other restaurants and it could be the pricing that's doing it. Again, great food but overpriced. read more

We were excited to try this place as we love supporting local restaurants but this ended up being my first ever one star experience as it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. As parents young children, we savor our nights out but this one was unfortunately wasted here. First, after being seated, we waited an incredibly long amount of time before anyone would even ask if we were being helped. The server said "I guess I'll take you" and then our drink order took forever though it was not even crowded, which was a sign of things to come. The meatball appetizer came out at room temperature. Do you know how long it has to be sitting after being plated for this to happen? We ate it anyway, assuming it couldn't get any worse. We were immediately proven wrong as we then had an issue with one of our entrees and were greeted with a combative attitude from the woman serving us (who we later learned was the chef's wife), and eventually the chef/owner himself. Been coming to Riverhead for a few years now and always see a new restaurant in this space. We went on a Saturday night in July and it wasn't very busy. The menu is a bit confusing in its set up. They mention on the front door a discounted cash price which is actually just the normal menu price and then if you pay with a a credit card they add 4% vs reducing the price 4% if you pay cash. I just think it's weird to have a sign on the door that says discounted pricing for cash and then it's just the price on the menu. The rigatoni vodka was good but pretty small. The Zuppa Di Pesce was one of the worst we've had very little shellfish no actual fish and what was served was badly over cooked. No bread to dunk in the sauce which was very sandy anyway. The "family sized" servings are what you would get at a normal generous Italian restaurant for one person but are all $38-55 they do not feed 2-3 like a Carmines would for example. The half portions $24-32 are good for small kids or if you're not very hungry don't want leftovers. The staff was nice and very attentive. Would have probably been 3 stars if not for the terrible Zuppa and misleading pricing/portion descriptions. read more

An amazing dining experience. Not only is the food amazing they have fresh pasta for sale to take home. We had the beet & goat cheese salad that had an amazing dressing. Then we had an individual pizza that they made especially for us , due to my friend not being able to eat certain things. It was perfevt and delicious. The best part was the Chef Marco Barrila himself gave us a tasting of a fish he had made. That was beyond delicious and its on the menu. I highly recommend this beautifully decorated restaurant and can't wait to come back. read more

This Italian restaurant is out of place in riverhead if you ask me. My parents wanted a chicken parm panini which wasn't on the menu, the server said that wasn't a problem but there would be a $5 up charge, no problem right? Given the highest panini price was about $25 we thought no problem, when we got the bill each of the chicken parm paninis was $47! ($42+$5=$47) right off the bat that makes he bill $100 for two sandwhiches... They brought around some fresh pasta for everyone in the restaurant to try which was nice and they were very good. If you're not afraid to spend some money and are looking for some decent food this place is worth a try, if you're expecting a basic Italian place this ain't it. read more

On a cold windy night walking into this delightful restaurant with its terrific aromas of food being prepared, I knew I would have a difficult time picking what to have for dinner. My son and I shared the bruschetta plate of finely chopped tomatoes and crispy shiitake mushrooms on the best Italian bread around here. My son ordered a wide pasta in a short rib sauce. And boy did he wiped the plate clean with more bread. I had a shrimp and shiitake mushroom sauce over tagliatelle pasta. Pasta is made in house so it was light and delicious. No room for dessert but did have our Italian coffee which is served with small regina cookies. I love this place and I can't say enough about the hostess Gloria or the waiter Brian. Everyone tries to make you feel special. The chef owner Marco often came out to talk to the patrons. It's only has been opened about 6 weeks and I'm sure whatever kinks there are will be worked out. Prices are the going rate of the many fine restaurants here in Riverhead. It's Sicilian food and not Italian American that most people are use to. Enjoy. read more

We really wanted to like this place. We read a few reviews that were negative, but was willing to give it a try anyway. BIG MISTAKE. First, the music is TOO LOUD! For a restaurant it was ridiculous. The service was awful. Too many people taking care of 1 table. Said they would bring bread to the table, then we had to ask for it. The wine pour is laughable. Seriously 4 ounces tops per glass. Food was awful. The table was never cleared of the used dishes from appetizer so when the entrees came out we had to pick them up so dinner plates could be put down.. then she walked away leaving us holding the dishes!!!!! Had to ask for parmesan cheese and black pepper. Waiter came with the cheese and sprinkled a teaspoon on my food and walked away. Seriously??, just leave it on the table. WAY overpriced. $130 before tip. Never asked if we wanted more wine... I would rate this a 0 if I could. read more

The place is beautiful BUT If I could give a negative review I would. First off there was a fire in the kitchen that they had no control over. The RH fire department needs to inservice them!! Second, we ordered drinks and waited 45 minutes. It wasn't busy there was only one other couple in the restaurant. When we received our food we finally got water. My panini had the taste of burnt from the fire. Delicious. (sarcasm) My niece's pizza looked like it came out of a school lunch and had clams in shell sitting on top saturated in butter. We never received our bread asked multiple times for that and water. We paid the bill and left. The food was so bad we went across the street and ate because it was that bad. read more

Second time eating there. Pleasant indoor and outdoor seating. Monkfish piccata was disappointing and incredibly small portion. $27 Caesar salad was chopped (?!) with few croutons and just a sprinkling of cheese. Anchovy dressing was minimal and on the side as requested but nothing was brought for the vegetarian at the table who was eating it dry. I had to get up and find the waitress for alternate dressing and more cheese and fresh pepper which should be the norm with a high end restaurant. My Papardelle Costola Breve was a small portion, very salty, little meat. The gnocchi gorgonzola was tasty but again small portion. That's not the case with this place- there were only 5 tables seated and the service was abysmally non-existent When a waiter showed up he was aloof and when asked to make a substitution he said he couldn't do that-until I pointed out that it was available on the menu with an addition of grilled chicken His response- "I guess I can do it" with an attitude like he was doing us a favor. This newly opened restaurant in downtown Riverhead is a find. The menu is creative specializing in pasta, pizza, panini and Italian appetizers. The food is delicious, on our first visit we had the seafood with squid ink pasta and frito misto. On our second visit we had panini for lunch, also excellent. There is a full bar with an varied wine selection and several beers on tap. The service was excellent, friendly without hovering. This restaurant has potential if they can get the service right. The food is very good; however, the service is the worst! I've never seen a place as disorganized as this restaurant. We had no idea that they even had specials until after we ordered and ate our appetizer. Our appetizer was a Caprese salad which was a skimpy portion. The wait for our entrees was too long but the fresh pasta made up for it. The open face lasagne was very good and a generous portion. The Linguine Vongole was a skimpy portion with the biggest clams I've ever seen(wtf). We wanted to try their pizza but we watched them get reheated and not made fresh so we passed on it. The owner is very personable but his staff is inattentive and clueless. I would like to go back after they get their act together if they last very long.
