My husband loves the Terriyaki Steak Fried rice with Yellow Sauce. I don't know what's in the yellow sauce but keen to know. I love the Steak Fried Rice as well with lots of mushrooms. Call ahead and pickup at the counter. Prices are super fair and great for areas with college students. Clean and had friendly counter service. Sadly, the service was incommensurate to quality of food. I ordered teriyaki hibachi chicken with white rice and veggies. My chicken was so bland, like they didn't cook it with basic salt or pepper bland. They didn't even cook it with the TERIYAKI... just splashed a bit of teriyaki sauce on top of the bland semi dry chicken. Not stirred for even coating. Veggies were watery onion and quarter disk zucchini. At least the rice was cooked normally. I observed the plates of a party of 6 on my walk to the door. The people who ordered chicken had the same flavorless chunks on their plates as well. Their version of YumYum sauce is nontraditional: mustard based (its yellow instead of white or pinkish). If you have ever eaten mustard based potato salad from any grocery store, that's the best comparison of the flavor. Just take the potato salad coating and make it more runny for sauce-like consistency. Thankfully I only one little cup on the side because I at least wanted to try it. Its bearable enough to eat through the meal (if you absolutely need sauce on your food). It helped give that chicken a bit of flavor I can say that much. And I'm very very serious about my sauces, for any food, not just for hibachi. I know what I'm talking about lol. I wish I took photos of the food so everyone could understand more, but I did see a picture in a different review I read about bland chicken. I really should have believed my eyes instead of giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt- thinking by asking for teriyaki chicken would come out with a better experience. Did I order the wrong thing? I ordered "chicken fried rice" through Door Dash and my order came promptly. Food was warm and all was well...but it wasn't the fried rice I was expecting. It was literally plain rice tossed in soy sauce and chunks of chicken in the same sauce. No egg, tomato, onion, nada. Loved the setup of this restaurant! All soup, drinks, and condiments (soy sauce, etc) is self-serve which was quite a new and refreshing experience for me. Steak and shrimp with rice... less than 10 dollars. If you're looking for some fancy Japanese steakhouse type experience then you're gonna have to go to a place like that and spend 50-60 dollars for two people. But if you're looking for a quick chicken, rice, steak, shrimp, whatever, type thing to pick up on the way home- this place is perfect. Also, they are freakishly fast! I don't even bother to call ahead for a carry out order anymore. It doesn't really save any time. Way better food than Panda Express at a Jimmy John's pace. I've come here several times before and always enjoyed myself, but I haven't been back in quite a while (I've been visiting the Eastside location). So many things have unfortunately changed for the worse. The restaurant received a remodel. The remodel didn't really add anything or take away from what was already there, so this is kind of irrelevant. From the time we walked in, our eyes were burning nonstop. My eyes are still burning and I left about an hour ago. Not sure if their hoods/fans aren't working in the kitchen or what is going on. I noticed several other people inside rubbing their eyes as well. As for the food... The onion soup that was free with fried onions now no longer has onions in it. It tastes like hot beef bullion pepper water. The sauces come in a larger ramekin than they did before, but you only get one instead of two, and they don't fill it up all the way. So you're actually in fact getting less than before when you received two sauces of your choice with your meal. The meal itself no longer has the vegetables they used to serve with their meals. Before you would get a ton of broccoli, cabbage, onions, squash and zucchini. Now they give you only one and a half (not joking) broccoli florets and a few onions and zucchini per meal. The food doesn't even taste the same. My boyfriend and I both ordered ribeye and shrimp. It was incredibly disappointing. The shrimp are a lot smaller than they were before, and I'm not impressed with the beef. It seems like they may have changed owners recently, and that this place is trying to cut back on costs any way they can. It's really a shame, because it is running away customers like me that once loved eating here. It's definitely worth a trip to the Eastside Inokos even if you live on the West end of town - much better food and atmosphere. read more

First of all my child who is six will not eat that food yet they wanted me to buy a meal because whoever sits at a table has to buy something. We had the worst customer service experience here last night. The girl who works there is always slightly rude but last night took it to a new level. We definitely will not be going back. I brought my concerns up with the manager as well and they were brushed aside. Customer service is something I really value. I would probably give this a 2.5 stars if I could. I've been here two times and both times I have ordered a regular chicken dish. They are in the range of $5.99-6.99 for chicken and more for beef, shrimp,etc. While they do give you a good amount of food(only reason I basically will still go), the chicken is always cold and hard, so I cannot fathom it being cooked to order. I mean, I really don't see many customers there so having them keep cooking food which could just sit around laying there is basically an insult to all their customers in my opinion. The chicken is still edible, the rice is usually pretty decent(at least it's warm), and the vegetables are just pretty much mushy and flavorless. Don't go if you are looking for good food, but I recommend if you feel like binging on sub-par "asian inspired" food. read more

This particular inoko express (I'm not sure of other ones) has recently gone under new management and it is clearly suffering. While it is great that they are renovating...too many changes have been made. There is no longer the option of free soup-something my family has always taken advantage of. At 7 p.m. we were told they would not be making any more tea. We were charged extra to get just zucchini and onion in our vegetables (this has never been a problem for us before) We did not receive our food on a plate but rather in styrofoam containers after we had said we would be dining in. Arrived here at 9 pm on a Thursday. The door sign stated the restaurant closed at 9:30. The staff had already removed the tea canisters and the onion soup from the service counter. We were dining in and the cooks boxed our order to go. When we got our order at 9:10, the cashier told me they were closing in 15 minutes. I've worked in several restaurants. You do not tell customers you're closing in 15 minutes and you do not try to run them out of the dining room. If the customer is in the door by 9:30, you do your clean up work and allow them to eat. The staff was clearly more interested in getting out the door ASAP than serving its customers. We grabbed the food and took it home instead. The vegetables were bland and mostly cabbage. The rice was a clumpy mess. We won't be back. Do yourself a favor and go to the one on the eastside. That gentleman knows how to run a restaurant. read more
