There was a big hail storm here (biggest I've seen in my life, and a lot of houses were having their roofs re-done because of it) so it wasn't unwarranted. The insurance wasn't budging, but it wasn't for lack of trying. I was on the call with all parties, and the owner of Paramount really put the screws to them over a couple things they said; like a good defense attorney. If that didn't work, nothing would have. We tried, and I appreciated the effort. Anyway, Paramount came out to give me an estimate the same day I called, He advised that if anyone in his company had done a couple of the things the original builder did on my roof, they would no longer be with the company. And I believe it. I had to patch one spot where the original builder punched holes, etc., and the stuff he pointed out was something I had noticed, as a layman, that just didn't look good at the ridge. Paramount has the best reviews of any builder around here, and they were recommended by my neighbor, who has lived in SoMD for about fifty years and knows everybody. The quote was also reasonable. I checked a lot of prices and I'm not searching around when I do crack my wallet open and get the roof done. I'm going with Paramount.

I almost never write bad Yelp reviews and I have been sitting on writing this review for a while but I had to because I am still so upset with the quality of service. When giving me my estimate, they sent a real professional to actually survey the property, go up on the roof, take measurements, etc. I had a really good feeling about the company. However, the person who gave me the estimate quit the company and I was reassigned to someone else who never physically came by to see the property. On the day of the installation, the team that they sent had no familiarity with the specifics of the project (which was attic insulation, gutter installation and rain barrel installation). I had to explain everything to them all over again, like they'd never heard of it before. It didn't help that they didn't really speak English and I had to show them what a rain barrel was with hand gestures. The workers installed my backyard rain barrel backwards, and my front yard rain barrel upside down. They took bricks from another part of my yard to mount my rain barrel without asking. The worst part by far: One of the workers, without asking, cut down my Virginia creeper plant that I had been growing and training for three years. It covered the front of my house and attracted birds and butterflies in the spring. Now it's destroyed. There was literally no reason to do this, he didn't ask for permission or anything (he said "it's poison!" when I asked why he did it; it's not, it's a harmless native plant). My house used to be unique, now it looks like every other house on the block. This last offense was intolerable, I called the company and demanded they sent someone down. They ultimately discounted the project by $2600, which was fine but did not compensate me for my loss. This was the first time any supervisor actually came to the property. It was clear the supervisor didn't know the workers at all, and he couldn't communicate with them any better than I could. The management had no interest in coming by to check work after it was complete, either. I had to reach out to them to request that they do so. They were perfectly content to just let their workers do it and leave for the day. Ultimately, they did the job that was on the contract, hence the two stars: they insulated my attic, installed gutters, and installed rain barrels. But everything else was a terrible experience. I wish I could undo hiring them in the first place.

I had some mold in my bathroom that needed to be removed. Not only did Reggie and Austin do a great job of removing it, they went above and beyond and figured out that the mold (to our surprise) was coming from a small leak in our roof. Then they painstakingly worked to pinpoint the spot it was leaking from and sealed it up to prevent any more water from coming in. I want to emphasize that this last part was not part of the contract, they could have very easily let me know what the problem was and tell me I needed to hire someone to fix it, but instead they worked so hard to fix it at no extra cost.
