He had an idea to reduce the costs and then his quote was 10+% cheaper than the next best quote. Steve has a very professional attitude and when we discussed the project, he explained to me in detail what he would do, and why I had these issues (e.g. a skylight and a stove pipe were not properly installed. He did a partial roof replacement, including all new flashings. And he gave me a 10 year warranty, which the competitor would not give for a partial replacement. He also implemented other things that I didn't specify so it would look neater, as in my case, we laid new shingles on top of old shingles. Now we had a bunch of significant rains, and no more leaks! So, if you have a tricky situation, Steve is your man. fyi, he doesn't do entire roofs anymore. But when he comes, he does it all himself, which gave me great comfort in the quality of his work. Highly recommend!

It included: new kitchen countertops, design and construction of a new kitchen island, resurfacing and painting walls, installing new light fixtures, replacing a sink, removing a fireplace, hanging a barn door, installing a TV, and refinishing floors. This is a diverse set of tasks and there was always an expert crew at hand to get the job done well thanks to AIM. Andrew has a keen eye for detail. He strives for clarity and insists on good craftsmanship. He is willing to fix things that aren't right. His team is excellent and carries the same values. Talking about price and schedule with Andrew was easy, honest, direct. We moved into our basement during construction and Andrew knew that every day mattered to us. He scheduled various crews expertly to dovetail various aspects of the projects and they worked hard for him. His prices were fair, his estimates for time were met, and he did not avoid conversations about challenges. Months later, I am very satisfied with the results. I recommend Andrew and his team highly. I look forward to working with them again myself!

He will not over promise, but if he did promise something he will always deliver. I can really trust him on that. We have to move to an apartment during the whole remodel project. I told Andrew it's important for us to finish on time, because we are on really tight budget. As we got closer to the finishing date, he took it in stride and sped up the process to make sure our family can live at our new place within a reasonable amount of time. He made sure all the little details were taken care of before we moved in. I really appreciated Andrew for that. We LOVE working with AIMConsolutions and his entire staffs. Their work is amazing and detail. If you are looking for professional, frustration free for your next remodel/new contraction project. I highly recommend you give AIMConsolutions a call, because I will defiantly use Andrew again anytime in my next project. Jose and his team of four guys are the BEST!!! Hard, conscientious workers who clearly take pride in the quality of their work. Really nice people, too. I could sense right away that Jose might be a good pick, since, as soon as he came over to give me an estimate, he pulled out his ladder, took time to inspect my roof and its shingles, and took measurements. His estimate was very reasonable (even lower than I had anticipated) and listed in great detail all the items to be done. (Lots of times, I've gotten estimates that only said "replace roof" and gave the price estimate.) Jose and his team worked for four days. Usually it was just Jose and one or two of his workers, except for the first day, which was dedicated to removing all the old roofing materials (three layers of shingles, the first being the original cedar shakes); on that demolition day, it was Jose and all four of his workers. Each day, they came early (7-9 a.m.) and left late (usually around 6 p.m.), and meticulously cleaned up everything after the day's work was done. I cannot recommend Jose and his team enough!!! Quality work and quality people. As they were working, I took lots of videos, so if you're interested, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLe7M0NqM54l6GxrZmo3GFbNquCRCSe5tp

As you might be aware, Palo Alto has many regulation and rules for house remodeling. Not only Don handling those very well, but also keep us in constant feedback about the progress and what do we need to do as owners. In fact, Don did such a good job, we hire him to do another major house remodeling in Sunnyvale last year, and again he delivered an excellent result. IMHO, Don's team is a honest and hard working team, and also very friendly and flexible to deal with if we have some last minute changes, unlike some other contractors want to charge us on every little change we want to do. On top of that, his cost is also very reasonable. In short, I am really glad to have a great contractor, and would hire him again for the next house remodeling project that wife is looking for.

He and his team provide good value (if you believe such a thing is possible when working with contractors) and Don always goes out of his way to make sure his customers are happy because much of his business is driven by customer referrals. For example, he voluntarily put in copper rather than PVC plumbing despite the higher cost and when we made some modifications on our original plans (like raising the ceiling in part of the house), he always quoted us a fair price. We're very happy with his work and would recommend him to others!

I have a fabulous designer/builder recommendation. Rich Nuti is the owner of Bella Casa Builders…read more He is our builder, and we have used him on two other remodel projects, in a previous home. We have always been extremely satisfied with his creativity, work ethic and finished product. He has exceeded our expectations. Building new custom homes is really Bella Casa's specialty. Some builders are actually re-modelers that can also build a house. Rich is a custom home designer/builder that also does remodel jobs in between large projects. Rich handles the architectural design and is a master electrician as well, which is great come time to plan your lighting and other electrical requirements. The great news here is that your architect will never get into arguments with your builder, because he's one in the same! Rich's company handles design, engineering, build, dealing with the city on the permit front, etc. The architect/builder issue was the #1 problem people warned me about when we set about this project. Rich and his team are prompt, easy to deal with, and stay on top of their schedules. We had neighbors telling us how polite and sensitive his crews are to the neighborhood. Rich is also a creative guy, and one that really wants to exceed your expectations and truly build you a house that will feel like it was built just for you. He makes very special custom suggestions at every meeting that will make the house even better than you originally envisioned it. He is a totally custom home builder, so no "standard" floorplans, etc. He just really wants every aspect of the house to be perfect. Rich has very good sources for top quality building and finishing materials (granite, natural stone tile, wood flooring, etc) that can keep the overall cost down, while using the same materials that other builders would charge 15-20% more for. He is also a certified "Green" builder, and so can build you home as environmentally friendly as you want. The other great thing about Rich is that he has built his own homes, and so understands how his plans will feel like to live in. He's also just a nice guy. He's a real pleasure to work with and talk to. With everyone around me telling what a nightmare it can be to find a trustworthy and honest contractor, I am so glad that Rich is the one to whom we are entrusting our "last house before we retire." One final note. This may sound like a shocker, but we did not even talk to other builders when we decided to build the new house. We went straight to Rich, and got started. We trust him implicitly. I am making this recommendation without Rich's knowledge (until he sees it). I just feel strongly about referring people that knock themselves out for me. I believe Bella Casa builds all along the Bay Area Peninsula. Feel free to reply with any questions.
