This is a long overdue posting but I wanted to leave a review for women in Adelaide looking for a fun and inspiring way to change their bodies and find that great lift tone and burn without the arduous task of going to a boring gym.
Let me preface this review by saying I am a San Francisco based Pure Barre teacher and I was seeking a barre studio that would allow me to continue my practice during one of my many trips to Adelaide. I tried what few places were available in the area and out of studios that I tried Inner Strength Pilates & Barre studio had to have been my favorite. Maybe I am a bit biased because it did remind me of my own barre studio at home, in that it had high energy music and a quick pace that allowed you to build your strength while of course getting your heart rate up and providing good cardio at the same time. The teacher was motivating (even though it was early in the morning!) and although the class was only me and another women she handled the small size well, being particularly attentive of our form and technique (which of course provides the best results). The terms did seem a bit dance heavy which could be intimidating to those (like myself) with no dance background and little to no rhythm. But fear not! because those are simply the terms they use to help set up the exercise, the actual work requires no dance background or rhythm in the slightest. The best thing about barre is it is fun and distracts you from the pain of working out. Instead you're lost in the music and the motivational cues from the instructor and before you know it the class is over and you're already thinking about the next time you'll be able to come in.
The next day I felt delightfully sore! Two weeks of regular classes I'm positive you would start to see results. I only wish I had gone to a few more classes because I can imagine that a full class would have wonderful energy. It would be nice to see some kind of package deal for regular clients. Perhaps an autopay set up that provides unlimited classes for a discounted rate. I would definitely be signing up for that right away! (Plus when you're paying a higher price for these classes you're always more motivated to go regularly and get bang for your buck!) I also really regret not trying one of the pilates classes. I am a regularly client of a reformer studio here in San Francisco and it would have been great to see how those classes compare too. I guess this just gives me another reason to check the studio out next time I am in Adelaide.
Coming from an area where the boutique fitness studio market is WAY over saturated it sometimes can be difficult to find a studio that is up to par with the many offerings we have in SF. However, I am confident when saying Inner Strength Pilates stands out a league above the rest. read more
